00:00Oman has assured Washington that it has no plans to impose tolls on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz,
00:07according to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besson.
00:10His remarks come after U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to threaten to blow up Oman
00:16over a proposed arrangement involving joint control of the Strait with Iran.
00:22Following those comments, Washington further warned that it would sanction all parties involved in such actions.
00:29In a post on X, Besson said the U.S. Treasury would aggressively target any individuals or organizations involved in
00:36facilitating such tolls.
00:38The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important shipping routes and carries roughly one-fifth of global
00:44energy supplies.
00:45The waterway has become a major flashpoint since the U.S. and Israel launched military operations against Iran in late
00:52February.
