00:04This strange fish may look like it got all glammed up, but its appearance is all natural.
00:10Meet the red-lip batfish, which is unlike any other fish in the sea, according to the Ocean Conservancy.
00:16This can be attributed to the odd creature's lipstick red mouth and frog-like legs.
00:21Scientists aren't quite sure why they have their signature red pout, but it could be used to attract mates.
00:26The fish can only be found around the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific Ocean, typically at depths of about 30
00:32to 60 feet.
00:33But it can reach depths of up to 400 feet, as they like to hang out at the bottom of
00:38the sea.
00:39The Ocean Conservancy says they can swim, but it's pretty awkward.
00:43So the fish tends to walk on the seafloor with its modified pectoral and pelvic fins that look like legs.
00:50They also have a modified dorsal fin they can extend and retract to draw in small prey.
00:55Talk about a one-of-a-kind creature.
