00:02OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said,
00:05AI has not eliminated as many entry-level white-collar jobs as he once feared,
00:10according to Reuters.
00:11Altman spoke virtually at a Commonwealth Bank of Australia conference in Sydney.
00:15He told CBA chief executive Matt Common he had been pretty wrong on the social and economic
00:21implications of AI, though he and his team were roughly right on their technological
00:26predictions since launching ChatGPT in 2022.
00:29Altman said he now believes a human part of employment cannot be replaced,
00:34citing his own experience using AI to handle messages before reverting to answering some
00:39himself.
00:40He said he does not expect a jobs apocalypse from AI.
00:45OpenAI is also preparing to confidentially file for a US IPO in the coming weeks,
00:51targeting a $1 trillion valuation and raising at least $60 billion.
