00:53Toss the wind in your emotion
00:57I wonder if you hear me too
01:01Hey!
01:01I dwell on every moment
01:06Deliveries that pull me through
01:10You, you found me

01:30I will carry on for you
01:34Oh!
01:40Rita!
01:42What?
01:44Oh my God!
01:46You sang my song!
01:50Gosh, it never gets old, you know, hearing somebody sing your song back to you or just shouting those words
01:56to you on stage.
01:57Like, I am so grateful. Thank you so much for singing my song.
02:03I've never heard it sung like that before. What's your name?
02:08My name is Cruz Kalatiana. I'm 32 and I'm from Queensland.
02:12Okay.
02:13Nice to meet you.
02:15I am, wow, I'm speechless because that song is actually a really personal song for me.
02:24It's actually a really sad song.
02:26Yeah.
02:27And it's about missing somebody.
02:29Then we turned it into like a huge dance record.
02:31But the point of that is you kind of really brought it back to the purpose.
02:36So thank you.
02:36Oh, thank you so much. Thank you.
02:39Yeah.
02:40That song means a lot to me too.
02:42Thank you. I've lost my sisters.
02:44I'm so sorry.
02:45No, no, no. Thank you for writing such a beautiful song because that's how I connected to those lyrics, you
02:50know.
02:51Singing and just, you know, like talking, you know.
02:54Oh, sorry.
02:56Just, you know, listening to those lyrics just reminds me, you know, you got to keep carrying on.
03:01And I know my mum and dad and my sisters are always there with me.
03:04And they'll always be there with me and I'll carry them whenever I perform.
03:12Yeah.
03:13Well, that's what music is about, you know what I mean.
03:16I'm happy that I was able to help you in any way.
03:19Oh, thank you.
03:22So we talk about your amazing audition.
03:25Yeah.
03:25Yeah.
03:26Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:26You ready for this?
03:27Yeah.
03:27Come in love with you.
03:29I think you're fantastic.
03:30I think you're amazing.
03:33You have something I don't have on my team so far.
03:37You know, I've actually leaned a lot into the more sort of mature kind of, not well behaved,
03:42but I would say like they definitely have their like vision of what they want to do and how they
03:46want to sound.
03:47So I'd love to have you on my team.
03:49Oh, I love that.
03:50Love that.
03:56Wow.
03:57Hey, Cruz.
03:59Hey, how are you?
03:59Good, thank you.
04:01Lovely to meet you.
04:02Lovely to meet you too.
04:03And what an impeccable performance that you shared with us.
04:06Thank you very much.
04:07Oh, thank you.
04:09So, hey, I know you just sung a Rita Ora song, but let's not be predictable now.
04:18You know what I mean?
04:19I mean, let's take a risk and go with Jessica Mowboy's team.
04:24I mean, let's not do that.
04:28Yeah, let's do that.
04:32Um, but hey, honestly, I think the way that you portrayed your story through that song, um, that, you know,
04:39that really excites me.
04:40I really see us working together on, on drawing more upon that, I guess, in terms of your performance.
04:46Okay, thank you, Jess.
04:47We could create a map of where you, you are now to where you want to be.
04:53Okay, I'm there.
04:53You know what I'm saying?
04:54I think we've had enough of that, haven't we?
04:56You know what I mean?
04:57Yeah, 100%.
04:58Well, let's not be predictable here.
05:01I mean, we know how much you love Rita.
05:06But you could learn to love me.
05:11And you can learn to work with me and not feel bad about not choosing Rita.
05:20Listen, it's up to you.
05:21Good luck.
05:21Welcome to The Voice anyway.
05:22Look.
05:23Yeah, yeah.
05:29A huge moment.
05:31No matter what.
05:33No matter what.
05:35It's going to be great.
05:40I think I'm going to have to go with, uh, Arty Rita.
05:43Yeah.
05:44Yeah.
05:47Arty Rita.
05:49I love that.
05:50You know what?
05:51That was amazing.
05:52That was so, so amazing.
05:53Thanks for sharing your story, man.
05:55I mean, it's so hard to, like, share it.
05:58So I appreciate you being super, super open about that.
06:01Thank you so much.
06:02Listen, I will be your auntie whenever you want.
06:05So who have you got with you?
06:06I've got my fiancé, I've got my partner, and my younger brother.
06:09All right, let's go.
06:11This is Keanu.
06:12Hey, Keanu.
06:13Nice to meet you.
06:15Hello.
06:15Hi, I'm Natalie.
06:16Oh, nice to meet you.
06:17Are you guys proud?
06:18No, I'm so proud.
06:19So proud.
06:20We're going to have a good time.
06:22Auntie Rita in the building.
06:25See you soon.
06:32Hey.
06:36I'm Auntie Rita now.
06:38First of all, where I'm from, being called Auntie is a huge honor.
06:43It means you've, like, made it into the fold.
06:45So I'll take it.
06:47I'm very happy.
06:47I'm so, so excited that he chose me.
06:49I've got eight on my team.
06:50Oof.
06:51And that means I only have four spots left.
06:53Oh.
06:54Guys, I literally think if I win, the voice is second year in a row.
06:58Don't say it.
06:59Don't say that.
07:00I don't know what would happen.
07:01Don't say it yet.
07:02What's not to happen?
07:03You're going to be an honorary house.
07:05They'll give you a passport.
07:08My name is Cruz Karateana.
07:11I'm 32 years old and I'm living on the Gold Coast.
07:15My sister is a huge inspiration in my life.
07:20We always used to watch the show growing up, like, as kids.
07:23And it was always a dream for both of us to perform together.
07:28Back in 2018, I lost my sister.
07:32She was attacked at a party.
07:35When she passed, I went to a really dark place.
07:44And it was either do something stupid or come here and do something more.
07:51And I know that she definitely would have wanted that for me.
07:55I'm Cruz and this is my sister.
07:58Nice.
08:02I wear this necklace.
08:05She gave this to me before she passed.
08:07And I wear it whenever I perform.
08:09Just to remind me of why I'm here.
08:14So I'm singing a Rita Ora song and I've done my own version of the song.
08:17I've just slowed it down just a little bit and just put my own spin.
08:23The song is very, very challenging and technical.
08:28Some of those notes are quite high.
08:31I hope Rita does it.
08:32But I am a little bit petrified that she doesn't like it.
08:39I feel like my whole life's come to this moment.
08:43I just really want to do this song justice and just make my sister proud.
08:48I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:50I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:52I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:52I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:53I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:54I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:54I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:54I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:55I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:56I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:57I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:57I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
08:58I feel like I'm a little bit petrified.
