00:00I don't think the timing is an accident, you know, I think it's sort of extraordinary that my mom started
00:06on Broadway when she was 22, and that I've never done a play, and I mean I started in theater,
00:13I started in high school doing plays, and then here I am, like right after my movie comes out, and
00:19I'm doing a play on Broadway.
00:21And so that's something to take in and behold, but I do think that making my film was very organizing
00:31for me, and cathartic, and extremely healing for me, and the way I describe it is it gave me a
00:39lot of internal space back, and so I think it changed my nervous system in a way, and it was
00:48such a gift, because I did feel so
00:51different after the film was out, and so relieved, and so free, and interestingly enough, I think that one of
01:04the first thoughts that I had was that there were similarities between my film and this play,
01:13and so it felt like such a natural progression of what I should be doing.
