Workers of Samsung Electronics in South Korea voted to approve a tentative wage deal, averting a strike that threatened the company’s chip supply operations. Nearly 74 percent of the 62,616 workers who cast ballots backed the agreement, according to the union. The approval followed a five-month dispute over performance bonuses tied to the company’s AI chip business. Under the agreement, Samsung will implement a new 10-year special performance bonus system for its semiconductor division, alongside an average 6.2 percent wage increase.
