00:04:10be out as far as I was came around a bend and there he was barefoot um had his feet

00:04:19in the dirt and he called attention to me by saying he saw me first actually when I went over
00:04:26to him he said um he said uh are you deer hunting and I thought great um he's gonna be
00:04:35some protester
00:04:36and it's gonna be like a big uh pain in my ass right to get away from this guy uh
00:04:41but I said yeah
00:04:42I am and he said uh he said that's good um he said did you find your balance and I
00:04:53had no idea what he
00:04:54was talking about right and I I said well I don't know um you know I don't know I guess
00:05:02everybody
00:05:02has their own idea of what balance is right and he said uh he said the earth has a balance
00:05:08and he
00:05:09said um if I'm going to be taking something from the earth a deer um do I have a plan
00:05:17to pay it back
00:05:17right keep things balanced uh he was out he was doing something I don't know what the term was
00:05:24earthing I don't know I'm making that up maybe he had his feet in the in the soil and he
00:05:29was saying
00:05:30that by his bare feet being buried in the the dirt like that he was um you know he was
00:05:36connecting with
00:05:37earth again right and he felt like I was also connecting with earth if I if I as a hunter
00:05:41I
00:05:41get a deer and I eat the meat then I'm connecting with the earth right but he said uh we
00:05:46all have to
00:05:47have a balance when we're out here otherwise everything gets thrown off and he asked if I
00:05:52if I had figured out my balance yet and I said well quite honestly I I don't really know how
00:05:58to answer
00:05:58that so I asked him uh if he had any kind of um thoughts on what you know a hunter's
00:06:05balance would
00:06:06be and he said of course it was very you know out there but essentially that he couldn't answer that
00:06:13because that's for every person to answer for themselves right but he said uh if I was going to
00:06:19draw blood um from one of earth's creatures that I may have to be willing uh to eventually give my
00:06:30blood back right to the soil balance and he asked if I had it figured out and I said no
00:06:35I don't think
00:06:36anybody really can figure out their own mortality you know that's the whole point of living life is
00:06:44not knowing when it's going to end right um and I don't find it scary I think it's what makes
00:06:49it
00:06:50exciting that's what makes the journey worth taking uh but he just said uh he said make sure
00:07:00that you always always replace what you take and keep the balance right don't take more than you give
00:07:08don't give more than you take uh and I we left each other there and I went on hunting I
00:07:15ended up
00:07:16getting a deer that year and it was great uh but I've always thought about that it was interesting
00:07:19you know we probably live very very different lives I imagine he's probably the type that
00:07:25uh he may get teary-eyed if somebody kills a spider right um which is fine balance there's going to
00:07:32be
00:07:32somebody like me out there there's got to be somebody like him otherwise we just can't harmonize
00:07:36right it's all about the balance
00:07:56Jeremy I don't know if you're gonna be able to do a whole lot with this footage
00:08:01uh I mean as you'll see as you go through this stuff I don't have a whole lot uh it's
00:08:07been a
00:08:07hell of a hunt I I spent nine days uh man we didn't we didn't come in to anything um
00:08:15I thought
00:08:17maybe the snow and the weather would help drive them a little bit but I don't know if if it
00:08:21being
00:08:21a late season hunt if maybe the early hunters got in here and pushed them out I don't know if
00:08:26if uh the
00:08:27fires that we had earlier did something I don't know if there's a predator in the area or what
00:08:32but uh I did all that scouting and we had our eyes on a couple of a couple of good
00:08:37bucks and I
00:08:39didn't see them once uh once we finally got out here so uh disheartening for sure and I don't know
00:08:48trying to end a season of a show here and I got I got no deer in my hands
00:08:54um
00:08:58I don't really know how to end this right I guess maybe your your technical wizardry with the editing
00:09:04should maybe be able to do something I don't know or maybe we scrapped this whole
00:09:09final episode and you just do a a highlight reel or something um
00:09:14um I don't know man
00:09:20I don't know beautiful country um
00:09:26I had a lot of a lot of time to just reflect and it was a great hunt um
00:09:33you know because everybody knows a hunt isn't about the kill right it'd be called killing it
00:09:37wouldn't be called hunting um and uh I just uh I had some time to to spend
00:09:47thinking on things kind of reconnecting get everything
00:09:54well I mean who am I kidding man everything's everything's kind of fucked
00:09:58I don't know if it's the divorce or like the uncertainty of what's going to happen with the
00:10:02kids or what but I wasn't into this one at all and I think that's why um
00:10:07you know the footage stinks and and maybe that's why I didn't run into any deer
00:10:12I don't know if I just if my heart wasn't in it or what
00:10:15um
00:10:18anyway man I appreciate everything you've done
00:10:20um
00:10:23and I'll send you what I got and I don't know
00:10:26I'll try and film some kind of a promo here in a minute when I get my shit together because
00:10:32just not in the best mood

00:19:11all that back there um that's pretty much where we're going to be headed into it's
00:19:18it's hilly country it's rocky country it's where big cats like to hang out so
00:19:22that's where we're going to go kind of scout today uh as you'll notice i got no rifle on me
00:19:28um that's because we actually have not been issued a permit yet we applied for a depredation
00:19:35permit based on the ranchers um you know claims of of livestock being taken but state hasn't
00:19:42issued one yet so i can't actually legally be out there hunting yet um because we're not permitted
00:19:49but i got to do this thing legal you know i mean that's kind of been like the entire premise
00:19:54of
00:19:54the show right is is uh doing things the right way um but uh i have never been one to
00:20:01do things
00:20:02the stupid way so we're absolutely um not going in uh completely empty-handed
00:20:12so one of the big complaints that i had from the first season was uh trying to self-film
00:20:21everything was a huge pain in the ass and uh now i have upgraded to a very cool pov
00:20:32body cam so now we'll be able to get some really epic stuff love that hands free baby
00:20:52sometimes this place just feels like it was forgotten by time you know
00:21:17i think one of the more impressive things with
00:21:23the big cats is uh how incredibly strong they are even when they don't look it even a small
00:21:30a small mount lion you know around 70 80 pounds can hoist triple its body weight straight up up into
00:21:39these rocks up a tree hauling off you know calves and young cattle um it's not out of the realm
00:21:46of
00:21:46possibility at all i'm going to go a little further in see if i can locate a dan or something
00:21:53might be a good indicator uh where they're hanging out so stay tuned
00:22:17you guys gotta see this this is interesting
00:22:33looks like it's dead not that it's out of the ordinary to find stuff like this out in the desert
00:22:41but
00:22:42we are way way out here so uh to be honest i'm a little surprised you know a lot of
00:22:52hunters they
00:22:53they go way up into these rocks and stuff and they they misjudge everything and uh and they fall
00:22:59so we'll take this with us see if uh can't get it charged up and see what's on it

00:23:45one of the more concerning things about this actually is that this is a new phone i've got
00:23:51the same charging port on my phone and i've got a charger back in the truck so i can get

00:24:01but uh when i hit the power button it actually is giving me an indicator to plug it in so
00:24:06there's
00:24:06still electronics working reason i've got a little cause for alarm is uh university in nevada reno
00:24:13had two anthropologists that went missing just a few weeks ago and it's not far from this area that
00:24:21a lot of people speculated they were there was there was some talk that maybe uh because they
00:24:26we're a romantic couple that um the boyfriend may have been a suspect but anybody that spent any
00:24:33time up here knows how dangerous it is and you can go up too high take a spill and fall
00:24:39into a crevice
00:24:40uh real easy nobody ever find you plus there's mine shafts all over in this area uh people go down
00:24:46there all the time kind of heating the warnings and uh they don't come back out uh so this makes
00:24:53me
00:24:54think that uh we could potentially be onto something and depending on what's on this i may be
00:25:00since i'm out here right i might abandon this whole lion thing and go on more of a search and
00:25:08rescue
00:25:08mission so yeah just letting you know jeremy when you get all this footage i have no idea what
00:25:15is gonna be on this by the time it's done but uh this could be for some pretty compelling television

00:30:24the formations around here it makes me wonder if we you know maybe the ice age was a little different
00:30:29around here i wonder if early man around here went underground instead of just wandering i mean
00:30:35think about it the ice age wouldn't have just been about surviving the cold and surviving the fauna
00:30:40and flora it was it was survival in general uh from extreme hunger from weather weather phenomena i mean
00:30:49could you imagine if it wasn't just finding shelter in caves but structured homes like long-term
00:30:58survival exactly if we're right about this this could change everything for us micah

00:31:15discovering new things and getting to talk about your theories and your papers come on be professional

00:43:15really really cold in the morning and then it can get really really hot in the
00:43:20afternoons

00:43:42have never seen whatever the hell this is supposed to be

00:44:25there's a pretty big population of Native Americans up here I would imagine you know
00:44:33maybe this is some kind of a burial site I know it's it's probably drawing to
00:44:37viewers that there's human remains hanging from it but many of the different
00:44:43cultures around here they have different ways of kind of honoring their dead so you
00:44:47know who am I to judge right not that I'm not going to call this in
00:44:56because local law enforcement may not know about this one especially since we're so
00:44:59far out here
00:45:03I may have to get a hold of that rancher too and let him know because he may have
00:45:08uh he may have tribe squatting on his place I don't know maybe he knows about
00:45:12this I I would assume he wouldn't be hanging human body parts from a totem
00:45:18structure but uh you know again um well our journey continues
