00:09with an update because a couple of weeks ago um i announced that i had been diagnosed with breast
00:13cancer and it has been a journey since then i applaud all the women who were like thank you
00:20for talking about this this is uh i've been putting off my mammogram and i finally have it
00:25scheduled i love that people are following up like hey had my mammogram yesterday uncomfortable
00:29but i'm clear yeah you know we've got to celebrate all these wins but you've got to actually take
00:35action because early detection saves lives yes it does so to bring you up to up to date i had
00:40been
00:40i have been going regularly for my mammogram and um and yeah they detected stage one breast cancer
00:49invasive lobular carcinoma i know entirely words that are too long now right and like way too much
00:57biology than i ever cared to learn but the whole thing is totally fascinating to me um i'm waiting
01:02on surgery i've got to get some more tests done so that they said you know when we go in
01:08we want to
01:08make sure we have everything so i've got a pet scan coming um they're going to do a biopsy on
01:13my lymph
01:14nodes to make sure that they haven't also been infected but right now it looks like no chemo which
01:19is awesome huge news but i will have a double mastectomy and then radiation and then reconstruction
01:25so so that's what's been going on it's like it's a lot right it's a lot but i i cannot
01:31tell you
01:31how much i appreciate the support of so many people i get letters like i just got a whole stack
01:37of
01:37letters today and cards from um alice tootsie fulton thank you so much um our good friend sue
01:44sent a note kim sent a note today i keep them um
01:51you know when i made the announcement i was getting notes of people saying oh my gosh i can't
01:55believe that you're talking about this so openly but i think why wouldn't i when i'm like totally
02:00writing on every single prayer that's being offered for me i'm so confident by that i do i feel like
02:06floating i really am right i really am jeff yeah um it is it's emotional and but i feel strong
02:13and
02:13confident and incredibly faithful and i'm just ready to knock this out of the park you know it's
02:18so crazy because just a couple months prior to her diagnosis i talked about being diagnosed with
02:23psoriatic arthritis the point of that was i clearly tried to one-up you right it's like i had to
02:28have
02:28the attention on herself clearly people have heard of i know but you know when talking about that i talked
02:35about how hard it can be when you can't figure out what's wrong and you have to advocate for yourself
02:39and go to a million doctor's appointments in the last three or four weeks andy has been
02:45afternoons in the city inner town doctor's appointments communications on the phone i mean
02:50taking phone calls in the middle of the show which mind you respectfully none of us really do unless
02:54it's family right but we know how important this is it's it's a part of your life now and we
03:00are so
03:00impressed with your strength and how quickly you're moving and how strong you are thank you and
03:06you know there you have every right to crawl up in a ball and think i can't deal with this
03:10right
03:10now i'll get to it later right like right and i'll call the doctor later right and they're like
03:15there's no wrong way to do because it honestly when you get that diagnosis like the c word right
03:22people don't even want to say it out loud and and people get uncomfortable when i'll be like oh
03:27yeah but since i've been diagnosed with cancer because it's just part of my life right right
03:33right and i don't want to make it a bad word because it's i mean it's it's in me well
03:38it doesn't
03:38define you exactly yeah it's something that you have and you have to deal with and we're and this
03:44is my cancer season yeah yeah right people have different seasons in my cancer era exactly
