00:00Hello, this is the workshop.
00:12We've never been open to the public, basically.
00:16We're a private organization.
00:19We were initially created just for the production purposes of the Jim Henson Company.
00:31But one of the things that we hadn't done is really celebrate the works of the artisans that we have
00:40here in the workshop.
00:41How long is the whale? Is it like 15 feet for the whale?
00:47Is everyone working on Fraggle Rock right now?
00:49Yeah.
00:50Pretty much.
00:51And we thought with the tours, it does give the fans the opportunity to see what goes on behind those
01:01locked doors.
01:15But then when I was in college and I had to pick an internship, the question was, if I get
01:20an internship, that's probably where it's going to work.
01:22Pie in the sky, what seems like the dream job would be to work for the Jim Henson Company.
01:28Because I just really always wanted to know how those illusions were made.
01:34And now you know the secret sauce.
01:36Yes, I know all the secret sauce and I'm making the secret sauce now.
01:40Let me tuck this in.
01:55We were always with that policy of not being open to the public and not sharing everything.
02:03This was something that we did and, you know, we were very proud of the work that we did.
02:15We can add a snout onto and a tail and, you know, two eyes and you've got a monkey.
02:22These drawers, grouch eyes and oversized eyes.
02:27Yeah.
02:28But only that.
02:30And then I'm going to tell you about one.
02:32I mean, there is there is a level of a level of expertise here that, you know, we're sharing.
02:39And so, you know, it's not just, you know, going to a pop up store or something like that.
02:49This is a high level, you know, things are made one of a kind, you know, made by hand with
02:58artisans who have been trained for years and decades.
03:01And so this is a bin of body parts.
03:05So all different kinds of shapes and sizes.
03:08I mean, I'm going to put my fingers in.
03:10You're going to tour some of that.
03:13It's so in your face.
03:16That's what we don't want a picture of.
03:18Oh, my God.
03:19It's so cute.
03:21Hello.
03:21Now, since Sesame owns outright the characters for the Sesame Street Muppets, we don't own them, but we serve their
03:31production needs.
03:32So you'll see Sesame Street all over this workshop, but you won't see the Muppets because those are owned by
03:39Disney and someone else services their production needs.
03:43So we really tried to match that kind of like kidney bean, like jelly bean.
03:58So we don't have a Kermit here anymore. We don't have a Miss Piggy to share with them.
04:03Everybody's always asking, where's Miss Piggy? I'm so sorry.
04:07I'm going to show you something really cool.
04:15You know, looking down at the monitor this way, it's actually entering that way.
04:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:20It's like the old cameras used to be reversed.
04:27You know, where they're, where they're now.
04:29You feel French.
04:31Oh, oh, oh.
