Thunderstorms will cause minor delays in Atlanta throughout the day on May 25. There have been ground stops in Washington, D.C., due to low clouds, but this is expected to clear up in the afternoon.
Transcript
00:00Big travel day and we're starting to see problems at the airports.
00:03I've been telling you about San Francisco, low ceilings.
00:05They're starting to cause problems.
00:07About 45 minute delays right now.
00:09The rest of the country looks pretty good until we zoom in to the northeast.
00:13We are seeing a ground stop at DCA.
00:16This is also because of low ceilings.
00:18Now, we've had some issues with visibility, fog in parts of especially the east coast this morning.
00:23So far, we're doing okay at all of the other airports.
00:27They're not seeing impacts there, but we're going to keep an eye on that.
00:30As we go throughout the rest of the morning, Atlanta, if you start to see some thunderstorms early,
00:34you could have problems certainly later this afternoon and evening.
00:37I expect to see some delays, even a potential ground stop at times in Atlanta because of thunderstorms.
00:42Things will clear up really everywhere else by the afternoon with any issues that do arise.
00:47Taking a look ahead, we are going to see some flight cancellations the next couple of days,
00:52but numbers staying relatively low, all things considered.
00:55Anytime we're below 1,000, we're looking pretty good.
00:58Wednesdays when we see a little bit of a spike, but shouldn't see too many issues.
