00:00Then, now, forever, together.
00:34This is your first promo back from injury.
00:38What I like to do is put something on paper, then tweak it to make it feel you.
00:44I always go, when in doubt, go real.
00:46Now my bicep is fully healed, and I'm six months wiser in this business.
00:50I'm back, and basically just going out there and establishing myself again, letting people
00:55know that I believe if I hadn't got hurt in season two that I would have won the show.
01:00It's pretty stressful for me because I want to get it so right, so I go into just trying
01:03to read it as many times as I can so I can live it out and not recite lines.
01:08More nervous for that than I have been for any match by far, just because it's like it's
01:13all on me.
01:13Maybe if I mess this up, I can't blame nobody else.
01:30So, last season in LFG, I was just finding my footing.
01:37I was just building momentum, and then boom, I tore my bicep.
01:47The thing that really pissed me off was if I didn't tear my bicep, you're looking at the
01:52winner of LFG season two.
01:57My body was out for five months, but my mind kept gaining knowledge.
02:05And now that my bicep is fully healed, I got it all right here, and anybody who steps
02:12in this ring with me is in for a scary sight.
02:18My body is now stronger, my mind is now stronger, and my uppercut is ready to break jaw.
02:37This kid might have the goods.
02:40I want to see that dog come out tonight.
02:49I want to see that dog come out tonight.
03:12Manic, credibility on the independent scene, has been in the ring for a few years.
03:16He's someone that can help lead these new athletes who know nothing about the business.
03:20So I'm bringing Andre down to LFG to work with Braxton.
03:24So he's in there with someone who has an idea and understanding of what we're doing in the ring.
03:28So we're not bringing Chase into LFG.
03:32We're borrowing him for the night to help with Braxton.
03:35Exactly.
03:36Cool.
03:37Our next match, Natty, Callie Armstrong.
03:41Listen, this girl's a stud.
03:43She goes out there and just gets it done.
03:46And she's hungry.
03:47This is something that she's wanted to do for a long time.
03:49And, you know, we talk about those light bulb moments.
03:52That light bulb's turning on for her right now.
03:54I think you're going to really enjoy working with her.
03:56And then someone that you all know very well, Serena Linton.
04:01She's an LFG veteran.
04:03This is a big match for her.
04:04She's in there with Callie Armstrong.
04:06She's going to, you know, more often than not, Serena's going to be the small body in this match.
04:10She's going to have to fight from underneath.
04:11And this is an opportunity for Serena to do that.
04:14Let's see that temper that Serena wants to show us.
04:17Yeah, I'd like to see some intensity from her.
04:20And much like P.J. Vasa, like, Serena's been here for a second now.
04:23And when you start to transition to the low-hanging fruit that's on the roster, that's when you don't want
04:29to be.
04:30And final match, Booker, Nathan Cranton versus Elijah Holyfield.
04:37Elijah just came back from surgery, bicep.
04:40You know, we know how confidence and momentum is really important.
04:43And Elijah had a good showing, putting him in the ring with Nathan, who just came from us from the
04:49U.K., had some experience, comfortable in the ring, plays the Hale character really well.
04:54Good opportunity for Elijah and just keep building on what he started.
04:58Yeah, you know, I like to see it Nathan.
05:01I think it's more of an opportunity for Nathan than it is for Elijah Holyfield to actually really be able
05:06to go out there and be that general and take Elijah Holyfield to a place that perhaps he's never been.
05:12So, for me, I think this is the ultimate test.
05:16And since I don't have a match, I wanted to ask you guys if anyone has an objection to me.
05:22You know, we're trying to help people learn and introducing concepts they might not be familiar with.
05:27I was actually hoping I could maybe get on commentary for these matches.
05:31Yeah, I can only aspire to be half as good as you one day.
05:36Are you kidding me, right?
05:36I mean, one day I won't be wrestling anymore either.
05:39You blazed a trail for us.
05:41Booker T!
05:43Quack, quack!
05:43I'm good.
05:45I'm telling you, before long, you'll refuse to do commentary without me.
05:49You'll see.
05:54Marker.
05:56My name is Andre Chase.
05:58I am the leader, founder, professor, kind of mentor to the younger wrestlers.
06:04Honestly, I do it all here at Andre Chase University.
06:06Here on NXT, it's all about the you.
06:11I've been an NXT Tag Team Champion twice.
06:13Andre Chase is back to the mountaintop.
06:18I've been in NXT for about five years, and I've been wrestling internationally, professionally, for almost 19 years now.
06:25Chase you!
06:27You see the NXT universe, to their feet, chant and chase you.
06:31I was a young wrestler once, and I understand when I got better, it was by better wrestlers and more
06:39experienced wrestlers than myself giving me feedback in real time.
06:43So, somebody like Braxton, he takes feedback, and he applies it, which is something that I always appreciate.
06:52Another week of LFG, smart guy versus smart guy.
07:00Chase you versus the PhD of the WWE Braxton.
07:07Assume every person in that audience doesn't get it.
07:12They get it with you.
07:13They know the brain thing with you, but they don't get it with you.
07:16How do we tell that story?
07:19You're the brains of NXT, but I'm smarter than you.
07:24With me and Bubba, I think, stylistically and philosophically, we have a lot of the same views on pro wrestling.
07:30As many parallels I think we could do, we'll have the story of the match.
07:32As far as putting the match together and leading the match, we clicked instantly, I would say.
07:38His frustration's going, my frustration's going.
07:40He goes, throw one, double duck, accelerate, cross body, and then we're in school.
07:48Trying to show that emotion build over the course of that first minute to happen.
07:52Braxton, he's a very smart guy, which as a professor of Andre Chase University, is something that I can appreciate.
07:57Why does a heel cheat? Do you know the answer?
08:00Because the baby outwrestles him.
08:02He's a better...
08:02Excellent, because he can't outwrestle the baby face.
08:05He's pretty much a perfect coach for me.
08:08You know, he cares about the psychology, the mindset, emotional manipulation.
08:13And that's kind of what I want to be all about, kind of my whole, you know, being smarter than
08:17you gimmick.
08:18You need to be able to manipulate people emotionally.
08:20You go get the book, the ref's staring right at you, the ref's staring right at you, the ref pulls
08:27it away.
08:27You wanted the ref to take the book.
08:30I think I like that.
08:30That's good smart thing.
08:33It was a great little test for me to see how I can do with someone on TV.
08:38The goal is to try and put together TV quality matches so I can get to NXT.
08:42It was a great test to see how I can perform with someone who's a TV level talent.
08:49I'm so sorry to interrupt, book, but I'm about to go out for commentary.
08:52So I figured out, can you bestow upon me any advice, any wisdom?
08:57Did you, you got those sheets?
08:58I do.
08:59You know what I mean?
08:59With the stats?
09:00I do.
09:00Yeah.
09:00Stick to the stats.
09:01That's it?
09:02Stick to the stats and then add in a couple of little nuggets.
09:05You know what I like to call nuggets, which is sound bites.
09:08You don't want to talk too long.
09:09You know, you don't want to stretch it too far.
09:11Keep everything short.
09:12Okay.
09:12All right?
09:13Keep everything short.
09:14You got this.
09:15Can I use the shucky, shucky?
09:16Shucky, ducky.
09:17Duck, quack, quack.
09:19Can I use it?
09:19Use it, brother.
09:21You got it.
09:21Hell yes.
09:22All right?
09:22Shucky, ducky, shucky.
09:24Elongate the quack, quack.
09:27Elongate that.
09:28As long as I can make it.
09:29You got it.
09:30Yeah.
09:30No promises.
09:31I'll try.
09:36Welcome in to LFG.
09:37Big Joseph alongside Jeremy Borash.
09:39And we're joined this week by a former two-time WrestleMania main eventer,
09:43former Universal Champion, former United States Champion,
09:45former Tag Team Champion, former NXT Champion,
09:48the one and the only Kevin Owens.
09:50You forgot the Intercontinental Champion.
09:51The former Intercontinental Champion.
09:53I wrote all these down for you.
09:54I skipped that one.
09:55I'm sorry.
09:56Anyway, thanks for joining us.
09:57Well, thanks for having me, guys.
09:59I'm excited.
10:03Well, I know this man is happy that Kevin Owens is joining us here on LFG.
10:08I would hope everybody's happy.
10:10The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
10:13Introducing first, from Draper, North Carolina,
10:16weighing it at 222 pounds, Andre Chase.
10:23You never really know with Borash.
10:25Yeah, and I'm happy you're here, Kevin.
10:27Come on.
10:28I appreciate that.
10:29Yeah, absolutely.
10:34Back on LFG, and here comes the PhD of WWE.
10:53This is going to be real interesting because Andre Chase is a veteran of NXT.
10:56Andre Chase has been around for many years,
10:58and in this situation, Andre Chase is truly the teacher.
11:03This is a professor of wrestling, and his student is Braxton,
11:08is the guy coming to the ring and looking for that opportunity to make it to NXT
11:12and go to that next level.
11:22Oh, Braxton, a former football player.
11:25And, Kevin, you were in the Performance Center with many former professional football players
11:29and collegiate football players.
11:30What sort of hurdles is Braxton Cole going to face early on in his professional wrestling career?
11:36Well, I've never really spoken to him.
11:37I'm not really sure what kind of guy he is.
11:39Because I think the biggest hurdle that comes from not just football players
11:43but athletes in general that come here with no experience in wrestling
11:46is kind of starting from the bottom again, you know.
11:49They might have put in a lot of time in their discipline in the past,
11:52but this is unlike anything else.
11:54So I think a lot of times...
11:55Smart guy shaking hands.
11:57Well, I think a lot of times just maybe the ego or just the, you know,
12:01having to put your ego aside to start from the bottom and be willing to learn as much as you
12:07can,
12:07that could be difficult for them.
12:11Braxton Cole, 6'4", 6'5", 250 pounds in there with Andre Chase.
12:23He was going for the nip-up and then he caught him.
12:26Okay.
12:28Let's talk about Andre Chase.
12:30Let's talk about the lesson he's teaching right now.
12:33If anything, he's teaching me that you can wrestle in a sweater, which I find is very impressive.
12:38I wrestled in a t-shirt, but he's got the sleeves on everything.
12:43That is very unique style.
12:45That's a cold collar, too.
12:46And that's what Andre Chase is doing.
12:48He always wants to be professional.
12:49He always wants to represent his university.
12:51He always wants to represent his profession because, as I said,
12:53everything to him is a teachable moment.
12:55He wants to stay in kind of the Professor Moon.
12:58Well, let's be honest.
12:59Chase, you made him a household name on NXT, brought him to the top of the mountain,
13:02and looks to stay there now.
13:04But when you're in a situation like he is,
13:06and looking to advance the next generation of talent here at the Performance Center,
13:11there's a lot of teachable moments that he wants to unleash.
13:13Oh!
13:15Well, a teachable moment.
13:16But he's getting a hand up to block the right.
13:17And then able to block for a second.
13:20Didn't get all that top turnbuckle, but certainly got enough to hit that neckbreaker.
13:23Braxton now into the cover, hooks the leg to put away Andre Chase.
13:34It's funny because Andre Chase, he's talking about teaching everyone,
13:37but he learned something from earlier when Braxton grabbed the rope.
13:40We saw it a little bit ago.
13:42He was trying to grab the rope again.
13:43Andre was pulling him away.
13:45Of course, he got punched in the face for it, so that didn't work out.
13:51Everybody can learn at any point.
13:52That's what's important, too, in wrestling.
13:54You never stop learning.
13:55So these guys, you know, everybody, all these up-and-comers, that's another thing.
13:59They have to be willing to have an open mind at all times,
14:02even if they've been doing this for 10, 15, 20 years.
14:14Braxton Cole could have such an impressive matchup,
14:16and if he's able to knock off and gain a big victory over Andre Chase,
14:19he could find himself in the main event.
14:21And it only takes one match to possibly get that NXT contract.
14:24Oh, he rolled out of the ring.
14:29Smart.
14:29And he rolled out to get him.
14:31Smart.
14:31Let's go, Braxton.
14:32Get him back inside.
14:34Good.
14:36Keep it inside the race.
14:39Cover, cover, cover, cover, cover.
14:41And Chase able to kick out.
14:43And I want to go back to Andre Chase.
14:44Might have bought himself a little bit of time to get his wits about it.
14:47Yeah, very smart.
14:48Got hit with that DDT and had enough awareness to roll right out of the ring,
14:51which obviously forced Braxton to come out and get him.
14:54That definitely helped with that kick out there.
15:06You like the fact that he went out there and got Andre Chase back in the ring.
15:11I appreciate him going out and getting him and winning by pinfall would be the way to make that statement.
15:15Not exactly taking a counter.
15:17Oh, kind of wonder if there's any possible recruits, new students for next semester out amongst the WWE faithful here
15:25watching LFG.
15:35And Braxton, nobody home.
15:37Chase picking up steam.
15:38And there's a forearm.
15:40Vile it up again.
15:41Not quite Tito Santana, but it is effective.
15:43It's close enough.
15:44It's knocking him down.
15:46Might not be as pretty.
15:47Neck breaker and a kick out.
15:50Andre Chase now knows he's been in the battles before on NXT.
15:54He's been under the bright lights of a premium live event.
15:57He does not want to be a stepping stone for Braxton Cole, JB, here on LFG.
16:03Well, Andre Chase has been a part of some of the most memorable storylines and developments in NXT history.
16:09One storyline, one development I think he doesn't want is a loss here today on LFG.
16:16Oh, he's going to get the book.
16:21He's going to get the book, but he came to the book of knowledge.
16:24The book of knowledge.
16:31Ah, there we go.
16:32Blow, blow.
16:33Referee did not see if Braxton Cole steals this.
16:38Here is your winner, Braxton Cole.
16:45Well, obviously Braxton Cole.
16:47Smart kid.
16:49Must have been doing some film study on Kevin Owens.
16:53By hook, by crook.
16:55And in Braxton Cole's mind, guys, that has to be a teachable moment here on Legends and Future Greats.
17:06Here is your winner, Braxton Cole.
17:12Here's a little thing, and I take responsibility for this because I should have helped you to know the finish
17:20a little better.
17:21You came out with the book, right?
17:22Yeah.
17:23And then you came in the ring, and then you put the book down immediately.
17:26That book is the finish.
17:28Yeah.
17:28Everybody in the arena needs to know about that book.
17:32So I want to see you come around the ring.
17:34I want to see you reading that book.
17:36And then the referee says, you have to put that book down.
17:40And you close the book, and the referee takes it away.
17:43Boom.
17:44The little things mean everything.
17:47I take responsibility for that because I don't expect Braxton to understand the art of Shakespeare, of pantomime, of over
17:56the top.
17:56It's almost like watching the movie that shows you the finish in the first scene, and then along the way,
18:04they show you how they got there.
18:06When you set the heat, that's the first time the baby face is in trouble.
18:10He's in peril right there.
18:13And if you immediately go for a cover, and he kicks out, it shows life.
18:17It shows hope.
18:18Like, I thought he was in trouble, but he kicked out, so he's in the fight.
18:21So get some heat right there.
18:22Hopefully you set the heat.
18:23Before the pin gets...
18:24Before the pin.
18:25Yeah, yeah, yeah.
18:26That's what I want you to do from now on.
18:27I liked when you mocked the chase shoe.
18:32I think you need more of that.
18:33I think you've got to get comfortable doing that more often.
18:36Yeah.
18:36Especially as a heel.
18:37Don't be afraid to make an ass out of yourself.
18:39Baby face to sell for what?
18:40Do you remember we talked about this before?
18:42Sympathy.
18:42Sympathy.
18:43He'll sell to entertain.
18:45The biggest things were just making it a little bigger.
18:48Everything a little bigger, you know?
18:50Get a little meaner, trying to get some more heat.
18:52But I think I'm turning in the right direction, and I'm excited what the future holds.
18:56I can't thank you enough for doing this, man.
18:58I really can't.
18:59I hope you'd be cool to work with more people on LG, and I hope you keep this relationship
19:02going, because I see you getting better.
19:05And getting in the ring with people that are better than you is how you get better.
19:08Sure.
19:08The best thing about Braxton is he listens, and I think if you want to get anywhere in
19:12this industry, you have to listen to the people that have paved the way for you and
19:15the people that have more experience than you.
19:17So as long as he keeps doing that, I think he's got a shot here at LG.
19:25In our second match of the day, Serena Linton and Callie Armstrong get ready to do battle
19:30for the very first time.
19:33I'm on top.
19:35I'll kick her off into the buckle.
19:37I'll come to get her.
19:38I'm blown up just hearing it.
19:44Do you guys have a rest spot somewhere in the match, especially before the comeback?
19:48Is there a hold?
19:49Is there a hold?
19:50Because I think there needs to be.
19:52We're talking about the comeback.
19:54Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
19:55I'll do this, I'll do that, I'll do this, I'll do that.
19:57I mean, the energy.
19:58In real time?
20:00Hello.
20:00In real time, you're going to be dead.
20:03In order to guarantee that you're going to be able to match her energy, you've got to
20:07have that rest spot.
20:08I think this is going to be amazing, though.
20:10Like, I love what I'm hearing.
20:11And go into the match with a little story.
20:14Callie said that you don't belong in WWE.
20:16You can't hang with her, you don't have her background, you don't belong in her locker room.
20:21I said that.
20:22Yeah.
20:23Yeah?
20:23And then-
20:23And I'm going to prove you wrong.
20:24Yeah.
20:25And then-
20:25I belong here.
20:26Serena's like, this bitch.
20:27She's my language.
20:29I'm not saying you have to get dramatic, but just pull from something.
20:32As part of the audience, I want to get behind somebody that's been through something.
20:35She doesn't know where you've been.
20:36If it feels emotional, it's going to come through in your performance.
20:40I don't want to see just moves.
20:41Okay.
20:41Like, I know you've got a lot of bitch in you.
20:43And I know you've got a lot of bitch in you.
20:45Yeah.
20:45I want to see that dog come out.
20:47All right.
20:48Okay.
20:48Good luck, guys.
20:50Natty really wanted me to have this F you attitude as a babyface.
20:55And so it was really important for me to be that fiery, spicy, high-energy self that I am and
21:02show that in the ring.
21:04Stay.
21:05In the corner.
21:06I would say that Callie and I compliment each other in the ring.
21:08When we were putting the match together, I was getting really excited because I think we can put on a
21:13banger.
21:19My opponent this week is the spicy Serena Linton.
21:23I always enjoy working with people that are newer than me just because it allowed me to become the leader
21:28that I know I am.
21:37The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
21:40Introducing first, from Englewood, California, Callie Armstrong.
21:52Action continuing on Legends and Future Greats.
22:07And her opponent from Phoenix, Arizona, Serena Linton.
22:13And this is someone who Natalya has been talking to, who Natalya's been trying to coach up.
22:18And if you can't learn from someone, Kevin, like Natalya in the women's division, it's kind of hard to continue
22:24to continue your own career because Natalya knows more about this industry than any of the two in the ring,
22:31including myself, will ever know combined.
22:32Yeah, absolutely.
22:33If you're going to have a mentor or somebody guiding you in this industry, Natalya is as good as anybody
22:41to listen to.
22:43Nice.
22:44Bring that ball.
22:51Nice.
22:55Here you go.
22:55Too strong.
22:56All strong.
22:59Too strong.
23:00All strong.
23:06Well, as this matchup is starting out here, Callie Armstrong obviously will have the power advantage over Serena Linton.
23:11But we saw a lot from Serena Linton last year here on LFG.
23:15In season two, I cut her in the very end.
23:19And I said, you got your comfortable.
23:26You don't want to get comfortable because when you get a phone call telling you that there's budget cuts, you
23:32want to feel like you did everything in your power.
23:35All right.
23:45Certainly.
23:46Let's go.
23:52Look at all the ideas of Callie Armstrong going up, going down, going around on Serena Linton.
24:00well one thing we've seen from serena lynn is utilizing that high flag ability that she has
24:06that agility we've seen the molly go around she won several episodes of the first season with that
24:10and that gymnastics background is just developing and we're seeing it really evolve over the course
24:16of time and that's been effective for her that you take a look at some of the recent gymnasts
24:20that have made their way through nxt the first name that comes to mind to me is someone from the
24:25michigan state universe whoa that was nice that being kalani jordan certainly has been a standout
24:32a former nxt women's north american champion a former knockouts champion as well i'll tell you serena
24:39is impressing me oh man callie armstrong just pure strength pure power pure ferociousness you saw
24:51just that sudden impact from cali armstrong a usc standout in track and field and she just went
24:58around and what a boot to the side of the face i don't think she caught all of it which
25:03is probably
25:04a good thing for serena because that could have ended up very badly on a kick out just a two
25:08count
25:09serena linton realizing it and right now these two are a dangerous part of this matchup because one
25:14mistake we could have a victor and you know sean michaels has been keeping his eye on someone like
25:19cali armstrong i like cali as a heel i like her as a heel she's dominant you know kalani jordan
25:28having a similar background that serena does and uh same thing for cali armstrong being compared to
25:33bianca belair and stuff like that similar backgrounds as well it's really helpful that these women have
25:38people that have a similar experience even beyond wrestling so that they can you know go to for advice
25:45on how to adapt let's say the gymnastics background into incorporate that into the ring and how to
25:50make that you know something that works for them as well
25:56inside cradle this time by serena and almost able to put down cali what a matchup this has been jv
26:02well it's been interesting to see serena's growth over the course of the three seasons here of lfg but
26:07cali armstrong has come in this season and really made an impact you saw in the very first episode and
26:13she really brought a lot of attention to herself
26:33looking for a bulldog out of the corner
26:37serena right now is rolling drop kicking look cali armstrong's down cali's hurt serena crawling into
26:44the cover hook of the leg and that left shoulder jv just getting off the mat the level of competition
26:52and the level of excitement that we've seen it's only been amplified by the fact that everybody was
26:56watching that first episode saw what happened to kendall gray saw the saw the trajectory that her
27:01life her career was put on in an instant coming off a great match in our first main event of
27:07the first show
27:09wait a minute rolling through this you have it she couldn't get all her weight behind that
27:27she went for molly go around yeah it took a little bit too much time cali had it scouted saw
27:32what was
27:32happening serena ducks the clothesline got caught and gets planted
27:40and now cali setting up to pound serena might have knocked her back into season two big win for armstrong
27:52here is your winner cali armstrong that didn't come easy for cali she had to work for that one
28:00as she says too strong armstrong well what a night it has been here on lfg we're getting ready for
28:09our main event
28:10kevin i want to thank you for joining us as we get ready for what's going to be a massive
28:13showdown
28:15i'm not good enough to do the main event it was his decision
28:19see what did you do what are you doing kevin you're back there i'm keeping my notes all right
28:31i thought you both did great this was your best performance that monkey flip you took that beautifully
28:40i feel happy that i lit a bit of a fire under your ass because i wanted to get under
28:44your skin that
28:45you couldn't get comfortable just in case people are watching you to fine-tooth comb they're gonna
28:48go wow that showed us something tonight and i i thought you like you were very like vocal
28:56you made more noise you were more vicious i like you as a heel okay i love you as a
29:03heel
29:03it felt good hearing her say that she really liked to see me as a heel because
29:07i feel like heel is more of my natural self just because i am strong i'm aggressive
29:14you're a beast thank you when you do that spear into the corner
29:19it looks so good stay on that midsection right there like i think you're gonna make it harder
29:25for yourself to tell the story if you do that and then you start working the arm and then you
29:30start
29:30working the neck the simplest story that we can tell the fans is going to allow the best connection
29:36so hey how about that first monkey flip there dude you flew you flew dude i was like that that
29:44was one
29:44that if it's on tv i'm calling replay replay that now in slow motion it was really good why are
29:49you
29:49emotional right now talk to me from critique um no okay all right good why i think um
30:01sorry i'm just not it's okay emotional very good i think i just care so much and i've been in
30:07my head
30:08because i just want to be like i want to be the best we talk about you and i talk
30:14about this a lot
30:15like don't let the voices get louder in your head come talk to me if they are this is a
30:19crazy
30:20business all right and when you finally get to wear like hopefully a russell mania moment you're still
30:24going to learn after that match and be like god i wish i did this all right so trust the
30:29timing of
30:30your life because if you don't when it's all said and done you're gonna be like that was a whirlwind
30:34and
30:34i didn't appreciate any of it this business is not an easy business mentally physically it's very
30:40demanding and i know i can handle it i just need to find a way to know that i'm doing
30:46all the right
30:46things and some things it's just god's timing with two matches down we look to our main event
30:57and a much anticipated return to the ring elijah holyfield this guy's come back from an injury
31:04the last thing you want to do is put him on the shelf again because if you've seen his injury
31:08program it could could cost you your career a lot of holyfield has come a long way in a short
31:13time
31:14but i really feel like you're still going to be the general in this ring all right well it's his
31:19big
31:19return tonight exactly much back and as much as you know he comes from a great boxing family and psych
31:26i've been wrestling for years look at the end of the day i don't care who your dad is i
31:31don't care
31:32what sport you've done before when it comes to wrestling i want to be the most exciting thing in the
31:38ring
31:38it's easy to get yourself over but when you get this other guy over like nobody else has yeah when
31:44you walk back through that curtain everybody's going to be looking at you and say this kid might
31:48have the goods i like this kid nathan you know maybe because he's uh a student of a game you
31:55know
31:55you can tell when uh these kids want to be coached when they want to be taught
32:02oh what's going on dog yeah how we doing oh question is how you doing back and better man yeah
32:08back and back i hope you've been uh studying while you was awake yes sir all right time off is
32:13your
32:13worst enemy in this business yes sir what i need to see from you is patience all right i don't
32:21need you
32:21to rush and that's the one thing we always talk about with young guys don't rush don't rush don't
32:25rush look don't rush are we ready you know i'm ready let's get it done boom
32:42there you go right there body language there you go
32:51freeze that one second right here elijah you're so focused right now on the match you're just
32:57thinking about him you're gonna lose the fans all right you want them to feel a certain way when you
33:03walk out and i think that's what i'm gonna grab and hang on to the most
33:09it's main event time as nathan cranton and elijah holyfield prepare to step out in front of the live
33:18audience and let's get it done uh let's get it up go
33:23here we go you got your legends and your future welcome in to legends and future greats here ringside
33:30i'm vic joseph alongside the one and only jeremy borash and jb you look as fresh in the daisy oh
33:37thanks
33:37man i'll tell you what what an episode it's been and what a main event we are about to have
33:41eight
33:41months in the making for the return of elijah holyfield and we are waiting with great anticipation to see
33:49what this is going to be like for the return of this incredible athlete a very tough opponent awaits
33:55him there's been a lot of hype surrounding both these athletes and it will come to a head as you
34:03said
34:03here in just a matter of moments well a man who was destined to spoil the return making his way
34:11to
34:11the ring now
34:16the following contest is scheduled for one fall introducing first from dorset england weighing in at
34:2320230 pounds nathaniel cranton
34:28stay there open your feet that's what you should open your feet there you go get on your feet all
34:35you
34:36stinking peasants elijah holyfield goes one-on-one with nathan cranton
35:04it has been eight long months
35:14this man tore his bicep off the bone has battled back has rehabbed has not missed a day in the
35:23gym
35:23to get back to 100 percent not just for himself but for all those that have believed in him and
35:31if you
35:31can hear those around us there's a lot of believers in holy field
35:50the fact that he has now returned eight months later the fact he's returned with a new vision a new
35:55focus a new attitude and wants to show that more than anything else in this opportunity the man that
36:00stands across from him chooses to maybe now rain on the parade of this return
36:17you have to believe that holyfield is extra motivated right now in this moment
36:23so much you know when you talk about the injuries it does so much to you physically but let's not
36:28forget the mental aspect of being injured let's not forget to be taken out at your prime eight
36:34months in oh now comes back to the ring with so much focus and has had time to think to
36:39take this
36:39in and this moment that he's living right now has been the front of his brain since that very moment
36:45that he was injured what a return
36:50and look we want to take a little bit deeper when it comes to elijah holyfield it's got to be
36:54tough to have
36:55that last name of who his father is to have to live every day in the shadow of a hall
37:01of fame
37:01boxer a former world champion to try to step out on your own and then to get sidelined the way
37:07he
37:07did i mean it's got to be gut-wrenching and it's got to be heartbreaking as well heartbreaking
37:11gut-wrenching all the adjectives that go with being just taken out
37:21wow a lesson for for elijah is the recovery of the the comeback and what that's done for him
37:27mentally and the perspective you get when you're taken out at the top of your game you know a lot
37:32of people said he was destined to win season two of lmg and when that is just taken out that
37:37that
37:37opportunity ripped away from you you know it's just as much of a physical recovery and mental recovery
37:43in the same way
37:51this is someone who time and time again the coaches the trainers those in the performance center
37:56they say oh that's a no-brainer and to have that setback he is going to be fueled by redemption
38:01right now but for grant he is fueled in his own right looking to destroy and take out holyfield
38:08big backbreaker out of the corner hook of the leg and a near fall look when it comes to cranton
38:13he is
38:14as smug as they come well i'll tell you what it's been very interesting on this episode to see the
38:19advice given to both these men by booker t from a personality standpoint and how booker sees himself in
38:26both of them booker obviously throughout his career a cocky arrogant guy oh booker t cocky a little bit
38:32on occasion i know maybe not now next to you in the booth
38:51side belly look at like take a look at cranton cranton got hoisted dropped but didn't relinquish the hold i
38:57know we're having fun out here we're taking a look at two possible future legends future greats
39:02if you will cranton really right now i think is opening some eyes and to booker's point booker t's
39:08got to be smiling right now seeing this matchup unfold because when it comes to cranton this is a
39:13blue blood that maybe isn't quite as regal as he thinks but he is certainly in control of this match
39:18well and of course given the we saw eliza's first match here on lfg but also let's not forget
39:24cranton's got the advantage from a perspective of well you know time in the ring yeah a little
39:29bit not by much but he looks as comfortable as ever wow and look at holyfield right now starting
39:36to fire back left his feet now really staying called cooler collected with a spine buster
39:47look out this is an uppercut if he can hit that uppercut
39:50well cranton runs to the family certainly did went from behind and cranton coming in
39:54underneath it burns got him knees buckled good night
40:00cranton
40:11i don't want to get too far ahead of myself jb but i think tonight we learned a lot about
40:17this man we
40:18learned a lot about elijah holyfield what he's about and what he can bring to the squared circle
40:25here in the wwe wow great return look at the straight spine buster from elijah holyfield and
40:33obviously that uppercut nathan grant went from raising sheep to counting sheep
40:38knocked out tell you what you had called out the uh punching power
40:42the winner of holyfield that was right on the butt listen to this place
41:02oh
41:03oh it's all right huh how you feel good good good i know what i know it was like
41:07oh man that's probably the best you've looked man since you've been here amazing booker was very
41:13excited about it and loved it i don't think he was sugar coated if we did bad so uh i
41:18was happy about
41:18that yeah damn it man today man gave me a lot of confidence moving forward really happy about it and
41:26i want to build off of it can't praise you guys enough thank you really good y'all made me
41:31look good
41:31thank you all right thank you good man
41:37so we're gonna we're gonna make that that right hand everybody got to be petrified of it yes sir
41:43we all showed you steven you don't look at your
41:46yes sir so can't toss you around like everybody else yes sir please start thinking about as we go
41:53forward on this yes sir you know what i mean yes sir that makes sense yes sir all right thank
41:57you
41:57thank you good stuff thank you very much it's always amazing to get feedback from the heartbreak
42:01kid the main thing for me was that i should have uh sold his size more because the man is
42:07built like
42:07a brick house and uh just because you can see back to moran and not that i shouldn't have done
42:12it but
42:13i should have made a bigger job of it you get caught up in so much of doing more and
42:17more but it's just
42:17the details of what you're doing you make do a little and make it good man it goes a long
42:21way
42:25it's just the beginning of what i think is going to be a great year and a great season man
42:28moving
42:29forward i just do everything i take everything a day at a time i control what i can control
42:34if i'm lucky enough to get that contract i'll be ready
