00:08You alright?
00:15Start with Dan.
00:18After ending, Michael, at the great way you attended this end of the season,
00:22how are you feeling after tonight and especially after the last two weeks?
00:26Yeah, as you'd imagine, we're delighted.
00:29Absolutely delighted in so many ways.
00:32With today and particularly over the last two or three weeks
00:36when the position's kind of cemented, we know where we are in the league
00:40and it's easy to drift and lose a bit of momentum, lose a bit of focus.
00:46We've treated it as it's all one season going into the next one really.
00:51It's not ended here.
00:52I think we wanted to keep building and keep pushing.
00:56Credit to the players, it's not easy that sometimes to do it as much as we expected
00:59and hope for it.
01:00I've been there and it's to find that spark.
01:03But the hunger was there.
01:04You could see it and it was probably the toughest team to play that type of game
01:07in the heat, the way they move the ball.
01:10So it needed a really strong mentality, which I was absolutely delighted with
01:14because that's the foundation we need to show and have to give us the confidence to move forward.
01:19Can you talk about moving forward and improving?
01:22It's the first time we've spoken to the contract extension.
01:25How are you looking forward to doing that at least?
01:29Yeah, I am.
01:31I genuinely, it hasn't changed.
01:33I'm delighted I'm here for longer and we need to keep progressing.
01:38But in terms of, it hasn't been a big moment this week for us.
01:42We just keep pushing, keep working.
01:43I think we have done since the start.
01:44I've said it up to you all along really.
01:47And there's work to do.
01:50We've got to keep improving.
01:51We want to be a little bit better.
01:52It's incredible.
01:52It's so, so encouraging doing it from this place, you know, and sharing that moment with the supporters
01:59again at the end, I think, is important for us because that's why we're here.
02:04That's why it drives us on and getting younger players on the pitch and giving them opportunities
02:08is what we are at this club.
02:10So there are so many positives today and we can take that moving forward.
02:14Sorry.
02:15Luckily, over the last few weeks you've said a few times that it feels kind of natural almost
02:21for you being in the job and being at Carrington.
02:25There's been plenty of times that it's like an impossible job managing Manchester United.
02:31Why do you feel so comfortable in those surroundings and although it doesn't guarantee anything,
02:38do you think it helps that you know the club and you understand what makes this positive?
02:45I think it helps that I've been here for a long time and I've seen different levels of success,
02:52some ups and some downs, so I've seen it from all angles really.
02:56I don't take that for granted and I don't think that just makes the job easier or,
03:01you know, when I say it feels natural, I don't, I don't, again, I don't take that for granted.
03:07I think it's trying to make the best of the situation really, but I love doing it, you know,
03:13and I love doing it and I think we've got a good idea how we want to move forward
03:16and we've done some good work so far as a whole club and as a group.
03:19So, yeah, a lot of it is kind of what I know, all I know.
03:24So I just keep trying to draw on those experiences and trying to shape it how we think
03:29and how we want it to look really.
03:31Sorry.
03:32Michael, are you aware of the stats about your managerial tenure here,
03:3639 points from the league games at the end of the season,
03:39which would be enough for 8-7 points in the stretch of the game?
03:42I know it's not as straightforward as that, but when you have that sort of bank of work,
03:46is that something you can project into next season,
03:48particularly given the fluctuations of the rivals?
03:52I think the biggest thing you can take from that is the confidence
03:54and the belief that putting results together in this league is tough, you know,
03:59and a run is challenging.
04:01So I think that's the biggest thing.
04:03Obviously, it's a whole new start in many ways,
04:06but you've still got to draw on some experiences of being here in the past
04:10and what it's like.
04:11I think you're always drawing them experiences and taking the positives.
04:13And the boys have to.
04:15I think they need a lot of credit as well as a group for how consistent they've been
04:18in different ways we've won games and how strong they are knitted.
04:21I think that's really important for us to appreciate, you know,
04:25and that's what gives me the encouragement and excitement moving forward
04:28that we've got a real strong foundation now to try and build on.
04:33I know it's the end of the season, but that's obviously your first game on a permanent charge
04:37and your biggest win as well.
04:38I've had some pretty bad days here in previous years.
04:41Do you feel like that could be seen as you and the team laying down the mark over the next
04:45season?
04:48We generally didn't treat it like that.
04:50It really hasn't changed.
04:52I half forgot that it was the first game since it had been announced really
04:55because someone asked me about it before the game,
04:58because we were just carrying on as normal.
05:01I just think it gives us confidence really and it gives the team confidence as much as anything.
05:06Whether that has an effect on others, I don't know,
05:08but I think it's for us to draw upon when we get together pre-season,
05:12the boys come back from the World Cup knowing that we can trust each other,
05:17we can work together, we can give a bit extra for each other.
05:19And when you go through that, I think it's quite powerful
05:21and we spoke about that as a group.
05:22So, again, it's a place to start from now moving forward,
05:27but it's nice to be able to draw on all them emotions to give us that confidence.
05:32Chris.
05:35Fantastic for everyone out.
05:36He's got a record out right now.
05:39There's a lot of talk over his future at the club last summer.
05:43That's well documented now.
05:45Like there could be more talk this summer.
05:47How confident are you now as head coach that he will be with the next season?
05:52And of all the business that he will do this summer,
05:54how important will the keeping him be?
05:58Yeah, he's such an influence for us.
06:00He's been the captain and led by example in different ways.
06:05So, yeah, I've got no reason to think otherwise.
06:09We've loved what he's done and he loves being here.
06:12I think you can see that.
06:13He wanted to stay on.
06:14He wants to stay on every single game because he's enjoying his football,
06:17which is fantastic.
06:19Last question for Tal.
06:20Hi, Michael.
06:21Some of the best players on the pitch today were the younger lads.
06:23Cobby, Patrick, Ahmad, all brilliant.
06:2621, 23, I think.
06:27Does that show you what's achievable over the next couple of years?
06:30Although Casemiro's gone, today was just as good at performance.
06:34There was a real young nucleus there that could do something special over the next couple of years.
06:38Yeah, it gives us confidence, you know.
06:40Without getting carried away and taking anything for granted, we've had a good spell.
06:43But I do think, again, experience.
06:45I keep picking myself, but I think especially for the younger players,
06:48you can't put a price on what a season or two in this league.
06:52And playing for Manchester United, dealing with that and learning and understanding
06:56what it feels like to then perform, really.
06:58And the boys have shown that.
06:59I think Patrick especially, it was a massive setback for him, you know,
07:02at the time when he got injured.
07:04But the way he's just got on with it, I think it's incredible to think he's so young still,
07:09you know, and to come back like he did today is great.
07:13I have to say, I thought Mason in particular as well, coming and playing midfield,
07:16I thought, and I was delighted for him.
07:18I thought he did ever so well, and Cobby just keeps improving all the time.
07:22Thanks, everyone.
07:23Bye, guys. Cheers.
07:24Hey, have a nice summer, eh?
07:26Have a good summer.
07:26Can't wait to see you again.
07:27Yes.
