Cooking in Disney Dreamlight Valley requires you to collect all sorts of different ingredients and combine them at a stove to create meals. Experimenting with different combinations can unlock recipes that you can then cook again and again. Once you’ve cooked a meal, you can eat to restore energy, give it to a villager to improve your Friendship Level, or sell it to Goofy for Star Coins.

Ingredients are scattered across Dreamlight Valley, although most are exclusive to a few biomes, so you’ll need to forage, harvest, and go fishing all over or seek out Goofy’s Stalls for seeds. More specialist ingredients, such as milk, butter, and eggs, can only be bought from the Chez Remy restaurant. You'll also need fuel for the stove so make sure you’re doing plenty of mining to gather coal too.

When you’re cooking you can throw up to five different things into the pot to create a dish, but the recipe that comes out at the end might not use all the ingredients. Recipes that do use all five ingredients are rated five stars and tend to be very valuable and restore a lot of Energy. But it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the best dishes, particularly if those ingredients are hard to get. Keep an eye out for recipe books too, as reading them will instantly unlock a new recipe for you to try.

00:25for Star Coins. Ingredients are scattered across Dreamlight Valley, although most are exclusive
00:31to a few biomes, so you'll need to forage, harvest and go fishing all over or seek out
00:37Goofy's stall to buy seeds. More specialist ingredients such as milk, butter and eggs can
00:43only be bought from the Shays Remy restaurant. You'll also need fuel for the stove, so make
00:49sure you're doing plenty of mining to gather up some coal too. When you're cooking, you
00:53can throw up to 5 different things into the pot to create a dish, but the recipe that
00:58comes out at the end might not use all those ingredients. Recipes that do use all 5 ingredients
01:04are rated with 5 stars and tend to be very valuable and restore lots of energy, but it
01:10doesn't necessarily mean they're the best dishes, particularly if those ingredients
01:15are hard to get. Keep an eye out for the recipe books too, as reading them will instantly
01:21unlock a new recipe for you to try.
01:24If you really want to get into cooking, then we'd recommend visiting the Ratatouille
01:28realm via the Dream Castle as soon as possible. Remy will teach you lots of recipes before
01:33he even decides to come live in Dreamlight Valley. However, once you've gotten the house back
01:38in the valley, he'll then reopen the Shays Remy restaurant, giving you access to new ingredients
01:44and new recipes. Remember to check the meal section of the collection menu to see what
01:49dishes you might be able to make while experimenting, and use the recipe and auto-fill features
01:55on the stove to save you from having to manually add ingredients every time. Stoves are capable
02:00of pulling ingredients and coal directly from storage, so you definitely don't need
02:04to have lots of food items taking up all your space in your backpack. With that in mind,
02:10here are our top 10 recipes, in no particular order. Adrenaline Pickled Herring. This restores
02:15at least 2100 energy, and isn't really valuable enough to sell, so it's great to have in
02:21your inventory for long expeditions. Souffle. This is a 4 star recipe that's worth over
02:281000 coins and restores well over 2000 energy. Booyah Bays. The ingredients for Booyah Bays
02:36are easy to get once you've unlocked Dazzle Beach, and it restores at least 2000 energy.
02:42Grilled Fish Entree. It's easy to make, and the ingredients are easy to get from the
02:48starting plaza, and peaceful meadow areas. Cook lots and sell them to Goofy for easy Disney
02:54Dreamlight Valley Star Coins. Lemon Garlic Swordfish. This 3 star recipe restores over
03:003500 energy. The ingredients aren't easy to get, but it's a good recipe to have ready
03:06for energy or to sell. Pan Fried Angler Fish. This is one of the most valuable dishes in
03:12the game, selling for 2500 coins, despite being only a 4 star recipe. It does require rare ingredients,
03:19and is definitely one to sell and not eat. Poached Basil Buttered Sturgeon. Much like the
03:25Angler Fish, this is another 4 star dish, needing rare ingredients, but it's worth at least 2200
03:30coins and restores at least 4900 energy. Fruit Salad. As one of the simplest and easiest
03:37meals in Disney Dreamlight Valley, Fruit Salad is a reliable option for quick energy, especially
03:42during the early game. Caramel Apples. Once you've unlocked Dazzle Beach and can grow sugarcane,
03:48use it with apples to create candied apples that grant even more energy than a fruit salad for only
03:53one more ingredient that's really easy to grow. Porridge with fruits. Porridge is an already simple
03:58dish requiring just wheat and milk to cook, but adding a single fruit such as raspberry or apple
04:04massively increases the energy that it will restore. Coming up we're going to go through a list of all
04:10the Disney Dreamlight Valley cooking recipes that we've discovered so far along with the ingredients
04:14needed. You can view the entire assortment of 164 dishes under the meal section of the collection menu,
04:21and you can experiment with ingredients to see what else you can create.
