Lukashenka offers to meet Zelenskyy as Ukraine warns of Russia's new offensive through Belarus

Zelenskyy earlier warned Belarus of “consequences” over possible deeper involvement in Russia’s all-out war amid growing concerns that Moscow is seeking to open a new front against Ukraine from Belarus, as it did in early 2022.

00:00Amid warnings from Kyiv that Russia could be planning a fresh offensive through Belarus,
00:05the country's president, Alexander Lukashenko, has offered to meet his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, anywhere.
00:13According to the state-controlled media outlets, Lukashenko on Friday said he was ready to meet with Zelensky anywhere in
00:21Ukraine or in Belarus
00:23to discuss the problems of Belarusian-Ukrainian relations.
00:27His comments follow Zelensky's remarks that Kyiv is prepared to take, quote,
00:33preventive measures against Russia and the Belarusian leadership over potential military threats to northern Ukraine
00:40amid a Russia-Belarus nuclear exercise held this week.
00:44Lukashenko, however, denied any plans to involve his country in the war
00:49unless there was any aggression towards Belarus' own territory.
00:53Lukashenko had made similar denials prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
