00:01I'm completely in love with you. I always will be.
00:39You know we belong together. You and I forever and ever. No matter where you are, you're my guiding star.
00:55You're my guiding star. Hold me in your arms. Don't let me go. I want to stay forever. Closer each
01:06day. Home and away.
01:16It's only now that it's over that I understand what life is really all about.
01:22That each new dawn brings us a gift. A chance to cherish all the treasures we have.
01:33And the greatest treasure we have is the one that's closest to us.
01:38But the irony is we don't always discover it until it's too late.
01:42It's the one that takes a back seat to all those other important things that we think about when we
01:47drive to work of a morning.
01:49The career. The mortgage. The paycheck.
01:53And yet my greatest achievement was not my career.
01:57My greatest security was not the thought of the home paid off.
02:01My greatest comfort was not my paycheck at the end of the week.
02:05It was my family.
02:08My purest joy. My highest achievement.
02:14My constant source of love.
02:17My salvation.
02:35My pocket.
04:09Why?
04:10Many of us are asking ourselves that question.
04:14Why Flynn?
04:16A man who, as a doctor, a friend, a son, a brother, a father and a husband, gave so much
04:29to so many during his life.
04:32I can't answer that question.
04:36All we can do today is remember Flynn Saunders as he was and celebrate the life that he shared with
04:44us.
04:46Some of you worked with Flynn, some of you just knew Flynn as a pillar of the community.
04:54Others merely knew him as a straightforward, fair dinkum bloke with a great sense of humour, who was always there
05:02to lend a hand.
05:04No matter how Flynn touched your life, I'm sure you'll join with me in saying, we're going to miss you,
05:12mate.
05:14When I first saw Flynn up on the cliffs, I can remember thinking if I had those legs, I wouldn't
05:19be running all over town exposing them.
05:22But running was part of my life.
05:23But running was part of Flynn's character, one of the many signs of his incredible discipline.
05:29To become a doctor, he studied, worked hard and dedicated himself for many years.
05:36In the end, he could have gone anywhere and achieved recognition in the highest places.
05:42Flynn had a lot of passion for life.
05:44But his greatest passion was Sally and the family that they made together.
05:50I know his greatest desire would be to see his family grow up and to watch their triumphs and comfort
05:57them in hard times.
05:59We can only try to help his family fill the void left in their lives by the man that they
06:04loved.
06:07Because if the shoe was on the other foot, Flynn would be doing the same thing.
06:14I honestly feel privileged to have known this man.
06:18He was a genuinely good guy.
06:21And a really great mate.
06:32Do not stand at my grave and weep.
06:36I am not there.
06:39I do not sleep.
06:42I am a thousand winds that blow.
06:46I am the diamond glint on snow.
06:52I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
06:57I am the gentle, the gentle autumn rain.
07:27I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds.
07:32I am the birds in circling flight.
07:35I am the soft starlight at night.
07:38Do not stand at my grave and weep.
07:42I am not there.
07:44I do not sleep.
07:47Do not stand at my grave and cry.
07:50I am not there.
07:53I did not die.
08:10Sometimes it seems like the burden is just too much to bear.
08:15But you have to go on with courage, regardless.
08:24Sometimes the heaviest burden is the one you can't see.
08:29And it's all that we can do to carry it with dignity.
08:47There aren't any knives for the cheese.
08:49I'm going to need some spoons.
08:51Could you put those on the table for me, please?
08:52And we're going to need some glasses, too, because I don't think everybody's going to have tea and coffee.
08:56Yeah, I'll do those.
08:58I tried to stop her from doing this, but she seems determined, so...
09:02I think I should say something to her.
09:04She hasn't cried once today, and it's a feeling.
09:07Sweetheart, people grieve in their own way.
09:09Maybe it's best just to leave her.
09:12I don't know what these people must think of us.
09:14I wouldn't worry about it too much.
09:16It's what Flynn wanted.
09:17I wouldn't be down like a shot.
09:18We both would.
09:19But we had to respect his wishes.
09:21Yeah, of course.
09:22When are the ashes going to be scattered, do you know?
09:23On the beach tonight.
09:26Excuse me, here.
09:27I could just be the page.
09:33There we go.
09:34Oh, thanks.
09:35I don't feel like any, but the baby does.
09:37Well, the baby's smart, just like her mother.
09:42Oh, love, did you want a tea?
09:44Yeah, I'm not sure.
09:46Hello, Earth again.
09:47Sorry.
09:50Oh, look, if you're getting the cup of tea, I'll have one, too.
09:52I was just going to have a chat to Rachel.
09:54Oh, yeah, such a lovely girl.
09:56I saw her early with the nurses.
09:58Of course, in my day, a doctor wouldn't be seen dead talking in the...
10:01Oh, dear.
10:03What a terrible thing to say.
10:04It just slipped out.
10:05I don't think I could ever be hermated.
10:07It's kind of weird to think that your body would just be gone.
10:09Completely further.
10:18It's clean, mate, it's sweaty.
10:21Did you stop off on the way?
10:23Oh, yeah, just to get some petrol.
10:26Everyone's staring.
10:28Are they?
10:29Maybe we should go.
10:30Well, they'll stop gawking once they realise that you haven't grown horns.
10:34Anyway, sweetheart, Flynn would have wanted you here.
10:36Look, if it's stressing me out how much we can leave.
10:39Oh, no, it's not that.
10:40It's just Flynn.
10:41I mean, it's been so long since I've seen him.
10:43I just can't believe that he's gone.
10:47I can't believe he's gone.
10:53How will we ever manage without Dr. Seuss?
10:55Who wants to know?
10:58I'll be back in two seconds again.
11:01Hey.
11:04I was just heading upstairs.
11:05Yeah, I can see that.
11:06Maybe when you get back, we can have a talk.
11:08We don't need to talk.
11:08We've said everything.
11:09Well, not since we kissed.
11:11I thought that I made it clear to you.
11:13It was a mistake.
11:14It shouldn't have happened, and it's not going to happen again.
11:16Yeah, it did happen, though.
11:17Kim, I'm sorry, but that's all there is to say about it.
11:26Apparently, Flynn played a bit of rugby at school.
11:29He was a 5'8", I think.
11:30And we had the build for it, didn't he?
11:32Well, like a hooker, don't we?
11:33Excuse me.
11:38You all right, then?
11:40Yeah.
11:42They're probably more uncomfortable than you are,
11:45if that's any consolation.
11:46Not uncomfortable.
11:47I'm just wondering how long it will take to get over her.
11:49Oh, sweetheart.
11:51No, it's okay.
11:52It's not like she died, is it?
11:54No, but it's still very painful.
11:56Yeah, but sometimes relationships end
11:58and you don't get a say in it.
11:59That's life, even though it sucks.
12:08How can you show your face here knowing what you did to me?
12:12I didn't do anything to him, Arthur.
12:13It's all in your mind.
12:14You're scum, you know that.
12:15You mess with people's heads.
12:16Why don't you go speak to someone else, then?
12:17How did you change my blood test results?
12:20Do you really think this is appropriate behaviour for a wake?
12:22I'm sorry, is it appropriate to drug girls and lock them up?
12:24Hey, let's go outside.
12:26What's he doing here anyway?
12:33What do you recommend?
12:35Not now, Peter.
12:37You're living in the same town.
12:38You're going to have to find some way of dealing with it.
12:40How can I if I live and tell me the real reason you're back?
12:42It'd be reasonable.
12:43Is that a problem?
12:44No, not at all.
12:45Can you give me a hand with some more, please?
12:48Yeah.
12:50This is really nice.
12:52Yeah, did you get some of the dip?
12:53Yeah, and two huge pieces of cake.
12:55Thanks.
12:59Here.
13:00We got you guys the best bits.
13:03Thanks.
13:03I'm normal.
13:04You've got to have something.
13:06You'll get sick otherwise.
13:07Just try.
13:08It's like Dad always says, an army always marches on its stomach.
13:11What does that mean?
13:13It means Sal is going to need your support and you guys are going to need your energy to give
13:16it.
13:17So eat up.
13:18That's not pretty good.
13:22Sal, you don't need to be doing this.
13:24Let me hand it round for you.
13:25You are doing a very good job talking to everybody I can handle this.
13:28I insist.
13:29All right.
13:30Well, I'll hop upstairs.
13:31I'll need some clean tea towels.
13:42Sal.
13:43I'm sure there's some clean ones in here.
13:47Sal.
13:49It's okay to cry, sweetheart.
13:51It's actually better to cry.
13:52I don't need to cry.
13:54Yes, you do.
13:56Now, if there's one thing I learnt when I lost Tom and Michael, it's if you hold it in, it
14:00ambushes you later.
14:01But this is different.
14:03I've had time to prepare for this.
14:05I have cried.
14:06For months.
14:07I've done my grieving already.
14:10But I'm fine.
14:13I'll be in the car.
14:15Tash.
14:16Tash.
14:17I know you hate the kind of thing in my life, but just promise me something.
14:20Please don't get into this again.
14:21Just promise me you'll look in Mama Rose's tent.
14:23Why would I do that?
14:24Because I've been thinking.
14:26I know that there's something going on out there, which means there has to be proof somewhere.
14:29And Mama Rose's tent is the only place where people aren't allowed to go.
14:32That's crazy.
14:33If she's so down to earth, why is no one allowed in there?
14:35Out of respect.
14:36She already gives us so much of her time already, and that's our only sacred spot.
14:40The police have already checked everything out, and there was nothing there.
14:43I'm talking about after that, Tash.
14:45If there's nothing there, then you won't have lost anything, right?
14:47But if there is, there's no harm in just checking it out.
14:56Sal, at least could you sit down for a while?
14:59Yes, I will.
15:00And in a minute, I just want to check everything's going, okay?
15:03How's it going?
15:15Oh, he was always losing me.
15:26If you need anything, any time, can you just call us?
15:30Yeah, thank you.
15:33Bye-bye, sweetie.
15:34Bye-bye.
15:35Bye-bye.
15:37Come on, Sally.
15:38Please take as much compassionate leave from the school as you need.
15:44Hey, we're heading off.
15:45Are you going to be all right?
15:46Yeah, yeah.
15:46I'll be fine.
15:48The house is passing.
15:48All of people.
15:49All of you need anything, day or night, just give me a yell.
15:52Well, thank you for everything you've done today.
15:54Thank you very much for your beautiful eulogy.
15:57No, no, no.
15:57It was an absolute honour.
15:59It's fine.
15:59Thanks.
16:01Bye-bye.
16:01Bye-bye.
16:03Bye-bye.
16:04Bye-bye.
16:16So when are you planning to take the ashes down to the beach?
16:18Uh, about sunset.
16:20We can't pick them up till the end of the day.
16:24We could wait until morning if it's too much for you tonight, son.
16:28Dusk was his favourite time of day.
16:46You're amazing, you know that?
16:48Where did that come from?
16:50I guess what's happened today is I put everything into perspective.
16:56And I want you to know that whatever doubts I may have had about us getting back together,
17:01then I don't have them anymore.
17:05I love you.
17:07I love you too.
17:22It's time, love.
17:24That is, if you still want it.
17:26Yeah.
17:27Sorry, I just got lost.
17:28Yeah.
17:29It's been a long day.
17:31Mm-hmm.
17:32It just feels like, I don't know, just all his life meant.
17:37Yeah, I mean, I'm not saying the funeral wasn't nice and the weight, but, um, I don't know,
17:44what does it all mean?
17:46A few nice words and some cake and some tea and then we scatter the ashes and then what?
17:54I mean, this all his life's come down to.
17:57You've done what Flynn wanted, love.
17:59You gave him a wonderful tribute.
18:01He wouldn't have expected any more.
18:03Just a bunch of rituals.
18:06Doesn't feel like it's special enough for him.
18:11Come.
18:12If you're sure you want to do this, we should go.
18:15It's what he wanted.
18:27It's what he wanted.
19:00It's what he wanted.
19:06It's what he wanted.
19:14It's what he wanted.
19:44Oh, my God.
19:49Oh, my God.
20:20It's about learning to trust again, even though those around us are still hiding secrets.
20:31It's about taking a chance.
20:33It's about searching for answers, even when we're afraid of what we'll find.
20:40And believing in a future.
20:44But most of all, it's about love.
20:49Because when all is said and done, love is the one thing that never really dies.
21:09She's fallen for a pack of lies.
21:11But when she finds out the truth...
21:13Tash!
21:14What are you doing?
21:15Will she be their next victim?
21:16Plus, she made a big mistake.
21:19What are you thinking?
21:20Kissing things.
21:20Please, Irene, please, can you not tell anyone?
21:23Will her husband find out tomorrow at 7 on Home and Away?
