02:04that we kick off Saturday Night's main event tonight

02:06for the man who took the WWE Championship

02:09from John Cena at SummerSlam.

02:11The two-time WWE Champion,

02:15the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.

02:17Hello, everybody.

02:18Welcome to Ringside.

02:19I'm Michael Cole.

02:20He's Wade Barrett.

02:20Two men who've had a long history with John Cena.

02:23I have goosebumps as we get set for an historic

02:26and emotional night.

02:28Yeah, goosebumps for the entire arena,

02:30and I'm sure everyone sat watching at home.

02:32There's one person in this building

02:34who cannot afford to be emotional, though.

02:37Ironically enough, that's John Cena himself,

02:39who has a massive task against the merciless Gunther.

02:43You wanna talk about emotional?

02:45Cody Rhodes has gotten very emotional

02:47over the past couple of months

02:48because of this issue with Drew McIntyre.

02:51It's forced him to make irrational.

02:52Sometimes rash decisions like

02:54taking on the man he faces tonight.

02:57Yeah, rash decisions.

02:58That's an interesting choice of words.

03:00Let's go back to Roman Reigns,

03:03who held the WWE title for four years.

03:06He did that by not making rash decisions,

03:09not making mistakes by being cold and clinical.

03:12And it could cost Cody that he's not following in those footsteps.

03:36And his opponent, from Lagos, Nigeria,

03:41weighing in at 310 pounds,

03:43he is the NXT Champion, Obafemi.

03:53The ruler from NXT, Obafemi, who won his second NXT Championship last Saturday night,

04:04when he beat Ricky Saints at NXT Deadline.

04:08This is a man, Wade, who joined WWE only three years ago as part of our Next In Line program.

04:18He was a great college athlete, winning shot put competitions at the University of Alabama.

04:26Shawn Michaels told me earlier today, he has never seen anyone take to this business so quickly, like the ruler,

04:34Obafemi.

04:38He entered this industry three years ago, and has cut through it like a hot knife through butter.

04:45But make no mistake, this is the biggest test so far for Obafemi.

04:51Oba, for many people, the future, while he faces the now in Cody Rhodes.

04:56Obafemi telling me earlier today that I belong here.

05:00It is symbolic that it's John Cena's end and my beginning.

05:16Obafemi, who said he patterns his life after his father, Nii, who is watching tonight live in Nigeria.

05:25An emotional man who's been a WWE fan for his entire life, said he could not believe the fact that

05:30Obafemi

05:31was going to be in the ring in the final night of John Cena's career.

05:35So, Wade, tell me about Obafemi. What does he bring to the game, and what does Cody Rhodes have to

05:39look out for?

05:49Right off the bat, you hear this hot atmosphere. They're trying to bat Cody Rhodes.

05:53We've seen one tie-up already, and immediately to answer your question, Michael Cole, it's the overwhelming, intolerable power of

06:01Obafemi that showed right off the bat.

06:03And that's what has this audience worried on Cody's behalf.

06:06Well, Cody Rhodes has proven that he can take the best to the power again.

06:12Remember his great rivalry with Brock Lesnar, of course, the rivalry with John Cena as well, and Roman Reigns.

06:18And a side headlock now applied by Cody Rhodes.

06:23Obafemi just looking to overpower the undisputed WWE Champion.

06:27There's the quickness of Rhodes, right to the midsection of Femi.

06:30And look at Femi, closing that bare paw like hand around the throat of Cody.

06:35Cody is up, Cody is down, the Irish curse backbreaker.

06:39And Femi is powdered after the great Sheamus.

06:42Well, the only goings of this one, it is not even close.

06:46It's a 10-7 round to Obafemi, who is now mowing down the WWE champ.

06:52Body shots, followed by an elbow to the back of the neck.

06:54And this is that methodical pace that Obafemi loves to put into play as we take another look at the

07:00power of Femi.

07:01Yeah, it's a staggering amount of power that is simply not something that is matched often in this industry.

07:08That's the key to why Obafemi has devoured everything in his path thus far.

07:13And Wade, remember Femi warned Cody Rhodes, when the bell rings, you won't be looking at potential.

07:19You're gonna be looking at inevitability.

07:21The future is now for Obafemi.

07:24Well, Obafemi sees it as completely poetic that is one top guy of this industry.

07:29Taps out in John Cena, another man is here to pick up the slack.

07:33And that man is currently dominating the best in WWE QB1, Cody Rhodes.

07:40And Femi now with a massive deal, sending the WWE Champion across the ring.

07:46And Rhodes is stunned here by the early power and onslaught of Femi.

07:51A lot of people talk about this being a massive test for Obafemi.

07:54We could be wrong. This could be the start of a generational takeover at the top of the industry.

08:00It's exactly the kind of pivotal point.

08:01Uh-uh, look at that. Cody went for his power slam and it was blocked by Femi.

08:06Well, Femi's clearly done his homework because nothing Cody usually relies on is working.

08:11Cover! And Cody's gotta kick out.

08:12What would a win, Wade, mean for Obafemi tonight?

08:16It completely wipes out any perception that this guy still needs to learn.

08:21If he beats the absolute best we've got in Cody Rhodes, the kingdom is all yours, Obafemi.

08:27Cody wants to be QB1. He wants to take on all comers, fight all battles.

08:31But again, he needs to focus against Femi tonight, who just delivers a white and drops Cody to his knees.

08:38Cody might get a shot on the ribs of Obafemi, registering it somewhat, but

08:42it's less of a grimace compared to the face of Cody Rhodes, etched in pain.

08:51Now, look at this, Femi with one arm, and again, knee right to the spine of Rhodes.

08:57Cover now by Obafemi, hook of the leg, and a kick out by Cody.

09:02It's incredible, Obafemi's barely even breathing heavily.

09:06It's just been a walk in the park thus far for Obafemi.

09:10The threat with young superstars stepping up to this level is always that they're gonna be consumed by the moment,

09:16by that giant spotlight.

09:17Oh! Obafemi has just walked into this arena with the world's spotlight on him and owned it.

09:24Well, and Wade, that's one of the things about Femi, he never seems out of his element.

09:27You date back to when he was the breakout tournament winner in NXT, or the Iron Survivor winner, or the

09:32NXT North American Champion.

09:34No moment was ever too big for this man.

09:37Cody lands on his feet, needs to try to rally here, the champ's in trouble.

09:42Sidesteps Femi, shoulder first to the post.

09:45Well, Femi knows when he mows down an opponent like he has done Cody Rhodes thus far.

09:49Usually, it's plain sailing, but Cody can dig deeper the most.

09:53That's why he's the champ.

09:56There's the power slam by Cody Rhodes, who now looks to build some momentum in this matchup.

10:30Yeah, Cody Rhodes, there's so many traits that he shares, of course, with John Cena.

10:34One, that resilience that he's showing here tonight.

10:36Went for the cutter again, caught by Obafemi.

10:39And now Femi, well, sent through the second rope into the floor.

10:41This is an element of learning from Obafemi, which partly explains...

10:51It was more of an elbow smash to the jaw of Cody Rhodes, but the effects are exactly the same.

11:01Perfect timing from Obafemi, who may well have been playing a little possum there against the veteran.

11:08And Cody Rhodes, though, the veteran.

11:11Tucks underneath, grabs the rope.

11:12Femi now, out to the other side of the floor.

11:15Cody's suicide guy, pegs Femi down.

11:17And now Cody Rhodes is starting to feel it.

11:20Absolute bullseye right there, taking the big man down.

11:24And questions now about the durability of Obafemi, as he's been peppered with shots.

11:29Wait a sec, what speed?

11:30What were you talking about?

11:31Oh, what a spinebuster!

11:35And a kick out by Rhodes!

11:37I'll tell you right now, Cole, the spinebuster, as impressive as it was, we know about it.

11:41It was the speed of Obafemi following Cody into the rim there, that really got himself into the opportunity to

11:49nail the spinebuster.

11:50That's the deceptive part about this huge human being, the explosive movement.

11:56He gave Cody no space.

11:59And there's no way Cody came into this match against a man as big and powerful as Obafemi, expecting to

12:05be outmaneuvered.

12:06Outmuscled?

12:07Yes.

12:07Outmaneuvered?

12:08Hell no.

12:08Well, especially against a man who's been in this business three years.

12:12There's the drop down by Cody.

12:13Big right hand by Rhodes.

12:15And now Femi gonna drive Cody up over the top rope, and Cody right in front of our announce desk.

12:20Cody's hurting here.

12:21This is not good.

12:22I just looked in the eyes of Cody.

12:23They're kinda glassy already.

12:25Well, he's favoring his ribs.

12:27Wade, and Obafemi, the ruler at 6'6", 310 pounds, launches Cody Rhodes with an uppercut!

12:35And Bolt met over the table!

12:38Just a sprinting European connecting to the jaw of Cody Rhodes.

12:43And Cody's been busted open.

12:45Cody's ear busted open off that uppercut by Femi.

12:48It's a steel table, there's a lot of sharp edges, and Cody's caught something incredibly badly.

12:56And now Obafemi smells blood and tastes blood, and the end may be night.

13:12What a match to kick off Saturday night's main event.

13:16Obafemi, the future of this industry.

13:19One of the reasons that John Cena wanted these young stars to be featured on this card tonight.

13:24And you saw, again, the concern as it comes to Rhodes, a busted eardrum.

13:29Yeah, you know, for a fact, Cody Rhodes is never gonna give up in a match like this.

13:32But he must be regretting accepting it in the first place.

13:37I don't think Cody regrets anything.

13:39Yeah, I think he understands his actions.

13:40But I get your point.

13:41Hey, look at, Cody!

13:43Able to land on his feet, up to the top rope.

13:45Avalanche, Cody Cutter!

13:48Covered by the champ!

13:50Two!

13:50Femi kicked out!

13:52And that is exactly what tasting your own blood can do.

13:57One or two things happen.

13:58You either panic and retreat into your show,

14:01or if you're in that very elite category, you move up the gears of God of God.

14:08Come on!

14:09Drew McIntyre, the Scottish warrior, pounding away at Cody Rhodes!

14:14What the hell is he doing here?

14:16I thought this was an unsafe working environment, Drew!

14:21Time and again, Drew McIntyre has insisted he's been screwed over by Cody Rhodes and WWE.

14:28Wait up!

14:37Uh-oh!

14:38It's hard to understand what's going on here.

14:45Oh, but Femi plants through McIntyre on his backside.

14:50McIntyre not only ruined the match for Rhodes, he ruined it for Femi as well.

14:55And now a Cody Cutter to McIntyre.

15:04And the ruler with a chokeslam!

15:13That damn McIntyre, the hypocrite, ruined this great match as his obsession with Cody Rhodes continues.

15:30Of all the nights for McIntyre to pull that stunt.

15:35McIntyre got exactly what he came for, let's face it.

15:38We're in Cody's night, we're in Oba's night, left a stain on John Cena's night.

15:56Cody Rhodes is the present, Oba Femi is the future.

16:01But Wade, I don't believe Femi coming into the present will be too far away.

16:08What a way to enter the top level of this industry.

16:12Oba Femi may dominate here for the next 15 plus years.

16:17That was incredible.
