00:00Liverpool's season has fallen well below expectations and despite still being in the race for Champions League football, which is
00:09pretty much secured now, it looks likely to come only by the narrowest of margins.
00:16After entering the campaign with hopes of challenging at the top end of the table, inconsistency and disappointing performances have
00:27left them battling to secure a place in Europe's biggest competition rather than competing for major honours.
00:35One of the biggest talking points has been criticism from Mo Salah, who has now publicly taken to social media
00:45and questioned aspects of Liverpool's playing style.
00:48The Egyptians' comments reflect growing frustration around a team that has often looked short of ideas, especially in attack, and
00:58struggled to control games in the way they did last season and in many years gone by.
01:04Big decisions now await heading into the summer. Here's what Arne Slott had to say after Liverpool's recent defeat to
01:12Aston Villa.
01:13No, I can understand at this moment of time that they don't have a lot of confidence or a lot
01:19of feeling that things can be much better next season, but I think then they are underestimating what a window
01:28can do, what a new start can do.
01:32And I think we know quite well what to improve, I think one of the things we have to improve
01:38is also very, very, very obvious and I would have preferred not to talk about it here, but you're actually
01:45almost forcing me to.
01:46If you miss nine players that can start a game of football and almost all of them are starters for
01:56us or have been for a large part of the season starters for us, then if you add that to
02:04what you can improve in a window and add that to players that are playing for the second season in
02:12the Premier League,
02:12and I think we saw that the adaptation to the Premier League for a few of them took some time,
02:17but that's now better and better.
02:19That will automatically lead to much more, because even today, but that's my opinion, no one has to agree with
02:26me, but even today for large parts of the game, we were close to a result.
02:32But then when you are the better team, you need to generate more chances and if you have the chances,
02:37you need to score them.
02:38And we cannot concede as many set pieces as we've conceded this season, so I don't think the difference is
02:45or it's so big, only doing in a few situations the right thing can already have a massive upwards possibility.
