00:00Desde Washington, el titular del comando de África, el comandante Doug V. Anderson,
00:05mencionó que cárteles mexicanos están involucrados en el histórico aseguramiento en costas españolas de cocaína.
00:11Durante una comparecencia, este comandante del Departamento de Guerra de Estados Unidos explicó
00:15que el cargamento de 30 toneladas de cocaína que fue asegurado el 1 de mayo
00:19forma parte de un esquema de trasiego de drogas en el que países de África están siendo utilizados
00:24por redes criminales mexicanas como sitio de producción y de tránsito de drogas
00:28que se dirigen a países de Europa y del Medio Este.
00:32Incluso hay droga que vuelve a Estados Unidos.
00:38Another area that I think is important to highlight is that in the last 18 to 24 months we have
00:44assisted in or at least tipped off many partner nations to drug activities and labs in their
00:51country.
00:52In this time, 11 of the 12 drug labs that have been interdicted have had Mexican cartel members
00:59on site to include the largest drug lab that had ever been disrupted in South Africa,
01:05that there were Sinaloa cartel members on site.
01:07And so they are actually doing production now in Africa as well as the transit of that across
01:12the continent.
01:13So we're watching this develop and it's of concern as this fuels both the terrorists and
01:18the cartels.
01:19What's the destination of those drugs?
01:22Those drugs are destined for the Middle East, for Europe, but we're also seeing them then
01:27come in through the northern route back into America.
