The first model to be launched is the electric VLE 300, followed by the electric VLE 400 4MATIC. With an impressive range of over 700 kilometers (WLTP), the 203 kW electric VLE 300 effortlessly handles long-distance journeys. The more than 300 kW electric VLE 400 4MATIC will be the top-of-the-line model, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. Both models feature new NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery technology with a usable energy capacity of 115 kWh. Next year, two models with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, offering a usable energy capacity of 80 kWh, will follow.
The 800-volt technology maximizes efficiency and performance and, in conjunction with the new battery generation, significantly reduces charging time. The VLE can recharge enough power for up to 355 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes – while the driver grabs a coffee. Fast DC charging is possible at 300 kW. The optional DC converter also allows the Grand Limousines to use 400-volt charging stations. Thanks to the integrated reservation function for Mercedes-Benz charging stations as part of MB.CHARGE Public, a seamless and intuitive charging experience is guaranteed. Furthermore, the VLE is prepared for bidirectional charging.
