00:00It's not too late guys, Atletico Madrid are interested in Bernardo Silva to replace Anton Griezmann.
00:05So remember that during Covid we had already approached the player but it didn't work out.
00:09Of course the goal is to replace Anton Griezmann, I remind you that Bernardo is 31 years old but he
00:13will be 32 years old next August.
00:15So I think he's a player who can give 2, 3 or even 4 good seasons at the very highest level
00:18level, so for me there are no problems on that front.
00:20He's a player with the same versatility as Grisou, so for Diego Simon it's even a matter of...
00:24'Or, in fact, tactically.'
00:25And I don't think I need to repeat the fact that Bernardo Silva is a player who is
00:28Simply wonderful.
00:29We're talking about a guy who spent 9 years at Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, 459 matches, 76
00:34goals, 77 assists, 19 trophies including the Champions League in less than 10 years.
00:39And even stat-wise, well, he's been a key player for Pep Guardiola for the last 9 years
00:42years.
00:42So we have a player who knows the very highest level very well, who has the level of the very highest
00:46level and who knows how to win.
00:48And guys like that, well, those are the guys Atletico Madrid actually needs.
00:51We remember that Roland Alvarez played for Manchester City, and that the two players have already played together, so
00:56So there is already a link that exists between the two players.
00:58So I'm telling you very sincerely, if Atletico manages to attract a player of that caliber, we must
01:02I really have crazy ambitions for next year.
01:04I'll be talking about it in the next video, but we'll also be discussing Marco Correia.
01:07If we really do both players, which I know very well will never happen, we must
01:11aiming once again for a Champions League semi-final berth.
01:13The problem with this whole thing is, well, we're not the only club involved, actually.
01:15Bernardo Silva is at the end of his contract, so it's obviously cheaper to pay a signing bonus.
01:20rather than having to pay a fairly high transfer fee.
01:23And according to Marco, among those interested are also Chelsea, Juve, FC Barcelona and Ceminan.
01:28And I'm not showing you that if Barça has the means to pay his salary, I think that
01:32'A guy like Bernardo is more likely to go to Barça than to us.
01:34Lastly, at City he was earning 10 million euros net per year.
01:37If he were to join Atlético de Madrid, it would make him one of the players, or even the player
01:41the highest paid player in the squad, depending on this summer's transfer window.
01:44And you know very well that Atlético very rarely gives very high salaries right away.
01:48That will definitely not work in our favor, because clubs like Chelsea, who are interested, might...
01:52to offer salaries much higher than what Barça or Atlético de Madrid can offer.
01:56But for me he's a great player, he's a bit like Luis Suarez in 2021, he's...
01:59Guys, you have to be willing to pay a high salary because these are the guys who can bring you...
02:03trophies, in fact, quite simply.
