00:00The Bagri Agricultural Corporation Project, a joint initiative between Cuba and Vietnam, founded entirely by foreign capital, began its first
00:08mechanized rice harvest in the municipality of Yara, Ganma province, in southwest Cuba.
00:13This initiative, led by the Vietnamese corporation, Thai Bean, and the local rice company currently covers 160 hectares in its
00:20initial phase. However, it envisages a 25-year projection with the goal of expanding to 25,000 hectares to meet
00:27domestic demand and subsequently export to the international market.
00:31This new partnership in eastern Cuba complements the already established strategy in Pinal del Rio through the Agri-VMA company.
00:39In that western province, the production model allows the Asian partner to take charge of cultivation using high-geo hybrid
00:45varieties and modern machinery, while Cuba provides soil preparation, harvesting, and processing services.
