'TAKOT NA TAKOT PO AKO'  Senator Pia Cayetano became emotional as she responded to Senator Risa Hontiveros's privilege speech about the gun incident on May 13. As the senators recalled the tense events, Cayetano said she felt a lack of empathy from colleagues she had known for decades and asked for understanding and respect for her side of the story. 00:16Mr. President, I also will not interpolate or make my own privileged speech today as requested by the Senate President.

00:24I reserve my right to make the proper interventions at the time that the Senate President and our other colleagues

00:35But I just want to make this quick statement. Parang walang nangyari. Yan po ang statement ng ating butihing Senadora

00:42Risa Hontiveros.

00:44Siguro po para sa inyong mga wala dito, pero para sa amin na nandito, napakaraming nangyari.

00:50Takot na takot po ako na kailangan ko na magpaalam sa mga anak ko.

00:53At yung staff ko, dalawang pintuan ang pagitan ko sa putukan.

00:58Yung staff ko na si Claire, na 20 years lang sa akin, nandun siya sa labas.

01:03She has a 12-year-old son.

01:05Kinuwento niya sa akin late na tumatagbo siya. Hindi niya alam kung saan siya pupunta.

01:09Kaya para sabihin niyo na walang nangyari.

01:13Napakasakit para sa amin lahat na nandito.

01:15And as I said, dalawang pintuan na nagpoprotect sa akin sa putukan.

01:20Pero yung media, yung Senate staff, yung hindi naman makauwi.

01:24Dahil sila ang security, sila ang elevator, women and boys natin.

01:27Nando doon po sila.

01:28So dear colleagues, napakaraming nang nangyari.

01:32And one more thing, wala ho akong sinisise.

01:34Pero nung pagkatapos ng lahat, pagtingin ko ng group natin, yung dating majority group,

01:39walang ni isa sa inyong nangamusta sa amin.

01:46Some of you I've known for 20 years, 10 years, and I didn't even hear any of you say,

01:52kagusta na kayo dyan.

01:56Napakasakit na sa akin.

01:58Sobrang sakit.

02:00So yun lang ang masasabi ko.

02:01Yes, I am very ready to share my story, to ask questions.

02:06Pero kung wala ho kayo dito, huwag niyong questionin.

02:09Yung mga nangyari sa mga nandito.

02:11Dahil nandito kami, kasama ng staff.
