00:00Raheem was not only a saint poet, he was a fairly well-to-do person.
00:04He was one of the nine gems of Akbar's court.
00:06And it is said that once every year, he would give away most of what he had.
00:10Now it was noticed that when he would be giving away things,
00:13he would simply keep his head bowed down,
00:15not even raise his eyes to look at the face of the person he was giving to.
00:18Somebody asked him, what are you doing?
00:20Don't you want to know whom you are benefiting?
00:22He said, I feel ashamed in giving.
00:24The fellow said, why?
00:25He said, because I am just giving away that which has come to me.
00:30It is not really mine, but all the credit is coming to me.
00:33That's what makes me feel ashamed.
00:35The very motivation to donate comes from him.
00:38Without his intervention, without his intervention, you couldn't have given away.
00:42If you had your personal way, you would have just kept accumulating.
00:47So he said, I just prefer to keep looking at the earth.
