00:01World number one, Arina Sabalenka, arrives at Roland Garros with serious question marks over her form and fitness.
00:07The four-time Grand Slam champion was runner-up in Paris last year, losing to Coco Gauff in three sets.
00:12She still holds more than 1,000 ranking points over her closest rivals.
00:16Her clay court season has been a nightmare.
00:19Sabalenka entered Madrid on a 15-match winning streak.
00:22Then she lost in the quarterfinals to Hayley Baptiste after wasting six match points.
00:26She admitted she dreamed about those missed match points all night.
00:29Things got even worse in Rome.
00:31Sabalenka took a medical timeout during her third-round match against Serana Sirstia.
00:34She was struggling with her lower back and hip, which limited her rotation.
00:37She lost the match and crashed out at the round of 32 stage for the first time since February 2025.
00:43Sabalenka said, and I quote,
00:44My body was limiting me from performing on the highest level.
00:47But she added,
00:47I guess we never lose. We only learn. So it's okay.
00:50On the bright side, Sabalenka has become a fashion icon.
00:53She was signed by Gucci as a brand ambassador earlier this year.
00:56She also opened up to Vogue magazine about her personal struggles.
00:58She spoke about the death of her former partner, Konstantin Koltsov, in 2024.
01:02And she still thinks about her father every day who introduced her to tennis.
01:05She even asked,
01:06People really hate me that much?
01:07World number one will try to put all the doubts aside when Roland Garros starts this Sunday.
01:11That's all for now.
