00:15La quotazione in borsa di SpaceX è stata definita come un potenziale momento Sputnik per gli
00:21investimenti nell'economia spaziale. Cosa prevede questa operazione di mercato e perché
00:27la sua dimensione è così importante?
00:57A clear signal that SpaceX wants this to be a democratising moment for space.
01:03From a market structure perspective, Nasdaq has already moved to shrink index inclusion
01:08eligibility to just 15 days, and with an estimated 30 trillion in AUM tracking major indices,
01:14passive demand alone could represent over 30 billion, potentially more than 40% of the
01:20entire offering.
01:35Perché la quotazione di SpaceX è così rilevante per l'intera catena del valore dell'economia
01:41spaziale? E per quale motivo gli investitori dovrebbero comunque guardare oltre SpaceX?
01:48Right now, space is still perceived by many investors and as an emerging or even speculative
01:53theme. But the moment SpaceX is index eligible, with a multi-trillion dollar market cap, space
01:59will become a core sector. And that re-rating has real consequences for the value chain.
02:05The capital that has been waiting on the sidelines for a credible liquid anchor name, now has
02:11one. And that capital doesn't stay narrowly in SpaceX. It flows into launch, satellite manufacturing,
02:18data services, ground systems and more, and sets a floor on valuation for the rest of the
02:23market.
02:24There's also a competitive stimulus effect that's often overlooked. SpaceX's Starlink
02:29dominance has actually accelerated demand for alternatives, rather than to eliminate
02:34it. Europe is investing heavily in sovereign capabilities, and nobody wants to be beholden
02:39to a single provider. That dynamic is a meaningful tailwind for European and Asian space players
02:46too.
03:06The IPO will almost certainly be oversubscribed, so the question of where else to access the
03:12theme is critical. In launch, Rocket Lab is the most direct listed beneficiary, the only
03:17credible small to medium launch alternative to SpaceX, and a company whose business model
03:22gets validated every time the market spotlight turns to this sector. In data, Planet Labs represents
03:28the Earth observation and data monetisation angle. As space infrastructure scales, so does
03:34the addressable market for satellite imagery and analytics. In direct-to-device connectivity,
03:40Echostar benefits from the broader visibility that a SpaceX listing brings to the entire satellite
03:45connectivity category. And in Europe, Avio, Italy's sovereign launch provider, and BAA Systems,
03:51with its space intelligence and defense capabilities, are well positioned given the acceleration
03:56in European sovereign space investment. The SpaceX IPO has the potential to be the moment
04:02space moves meaningfully into mainstream investor consciousness, but no single event, however
04:09significant captures the full picture.
