The organizers of a flotilla of aid vessels bound for Gaza said on Monday (May 18) that Israeli forces had intercepted 10 of their boats and that contact had been lost with a total 23 vessels in the eastern Mediterranean.

00:24Video released by eyewitnesses showed the Israeli Navy boarding a vessel called Amanda
00:30and intercepting another boat named Holy Blue.
00:34The Global Sumud Flotilla had set sail for a third time from southern Turkey on Thursday
00:38after earlier attempts to deliver aid to Gaza were intercepted by Israel in international
00:44waters.
00:45It said 426 people from 39 countries were taking part in the flotilla.
00:50An earlier flotilla that left Spain in April saw more than 100 pro-Palestinian activists
00:56taken to Crete, while two others were detained in Israel.
