00:00WordPress can be a great tool for creating and managing your blog, business, or online store.
00:04Now, from the outside, figuring out the installation and setup can look a bit overwhelming,
00:09but it's actually simpler than you might think, even if you're completely a beginner.
00:14In just a few easy steps, you can have your own website up and running.
00:18And today, I'm going to walk you through two methods to install WordPress that I personally
00:22tested. And the best part is you don't actually need any technical expertise to follow along.
00:28Plus, I'll be showing you how to use Hostinger, which I highly recommend for its convenience
00:33and user-friendly interface. So if at any point that you want to give Hostinger a try,
00:37you can sign up for a plan using our exclusive Site Starters discount code by clicking the link
00:43in the description below. Now, without further ado, let's get right into it.
00:47Okay, so for the first install method, you'll log into your account, go to the websites tab
00:51and click on manage for the website that you want to download WordPress on. Then you need to go down
00:57to the website tab. And from the drop down menu, select auto installer, you'll be taken to your
01:03CMS or content management page where you can download WordPress. So select it from down here,
01:09then input your website credentials, hit next. And from there, you can download WordPress.
01:14I've already downloaded it, so I don't have to do it again. But after it's done, you only need to
01:20head
01:20back to your dashboard, go to the right and select the admin panel, and then you'll have access to
01:26your WordPress. Okay, now the second method takes a few more steps. So you'll open Google, type in
01:32WordPress download and click on the first option, then begin downloading. It's going to download as
01:37a zip file. So go in and move it into another folder just like I did. Then from your hosting
01:42or
01:42dashboard, you'll head over to file manager, click on the first access file option, and it's going to
01:48open up to this page, select public HTML. And then you'll just want to transfer all of those files
01:54onto this page. Of course, I've done this. So doing it again might cause the universe to implode or
01:59something like that. But once you've transferred it, head back to your hosting or dashboard, go down
02:04to the database here and click on management from the drop down menu. This is going to help us install
02:10WordPress manually. But first off, fill out these SQL credentials and make sure to save this info as well as
02:16the alphanumeric string to the left of it because we'll need it later on. Then after you filled
02:22everything out, hit create. Now we'll head back to our file manager and look for a folder called
02:27wp-config-sample.php. And then all you need to do is right click on it and rename it to
02:34wp-config.php.
02:37Again, I've already done this. So it shows up for me already. So once you've renamed it, you click on
02:42it and then it'll take you to the database setting. And then you'll see the database name,
02:47user password, which you just replace with the credentials that you created and include the
02:52alphanumeric strings at the end. After you're done, just make sure that you save everything
02:56in the top right. Then to download it manually, type in your domain name in a browser. And to find
03:02your domain name in the first place, just go to your dashboard and it'll be this text right here.
03:07So you just paste that and follow it with this concoction of symbols and letters.
03:12Then you hit search and you'll be taken to this screen to log in. And don't worry,
03:16your credentials are the same as the ones we've already talked about. Now for me,
03:21it says I've installed it already. But once you get to the screen, you just follow these steps and
03:26you're good to go. Okay, so that pretty much sums up this tutorial on how to install WordPress.
