36:29But for those of you who don't know it, here's the short version.
36:34My parents were both junior hockey coaches.
36:37And they were hit by a drunk driver when I was 12 years old.
36:41Mercifully for them, they died instantly.
36:44Mercifully for me, the St. Thomas Scholarships existed.
36:49I didn't have anybody else to help me.
36:53I had a lot of memories, a love of hockey, and a huge hole in my heart.
36:58St. Thomas filled it with hope.
37:01The hope of a new family.
37:03Things weren't always easy.
37:05You know, they never are for anybody.
37:07But in hockey, I found what I was missing.
37:11First at my high school, then later at college, and now here with the Admirals.
37:15And I never looked back.
37:17Because I never had to.
37:21The family I craved, the family that I needed, that I still need today.
37:26Hockey gave it to me.
37:28And St. Thomas gave me hockey.
37:32So from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you all for being here tonight.
