00:51is tonight's host child care practitioner leo i would describe myself as a little bit of a
00:56tasmanian devil i'm always on the go here there and everywhere my mind is at rest and when i've

01:14i didn't go quite as well as i thought it would i think it all just kind of fell apart

01:50whoa lovely beautiful beautiful presentation i think my evening was pretty refined i was very
02:00attentive and um i think i met everybody's needs and more lecturer lindsay was all compliments
02:08the flavors are really subtle it's really nice last night was stupendous sally's food was so good
02:18on presentation really tasty the percentage chance of me winning went down significantly after sally's

02:32so what's everyone expecting from leon i would assume leon is an absolutely abysmal cook
02:38high hopes then i'm hoping that leon gives us some very authentic jamaican food i'm bringing a taste
02:45of the island vibe and jamaica and the caribbean culture to my menu and it's definitely a good take
02:51on it i feel i want to bring loads of flavor loads of energy loads of color and i think

02:56execute it well you've got the enthusiasm part covered leon kicks off with his main jerk chicken and
03:08i'm really looking forward to this and i'm hoping it's going to be very very well seasoned and spicy
03:14this is a dish that needs to be spicy traditionally it's a spicy dish and i love spice
03:19so this is what we call the jerk seasoning loads of fire and spice and knock you off your feet

10:49hoofing entire carrots into my mouth feels like the kind of thing you'd eat when you were ill the main
10:55thing with me is basically making sure that i didn't overcook it the vegetables weren't soft that's the main
11:02thing for me they're definitely not soft it's like dog sick it actually tasted way better than it looked
11:11but my carrots like rock hard i do like vegetables al dente uh so that suited me down to the
11:17ground
11:18i would have preferred the carrots to be a bit softer and i could have done with a bit more

11:23i like but it's nice cool i think the group know by now that i am critical and but i'm
11:31critical about
11:32myself so if i can judge myself i can judge anybody have you ever cooked this dish for anyone else

11:39so i work in a children's home so i support a young black boy that's into caribbean food
11:45so i have cooked it before it must be really fulfilling it is because it's taught me a lot
11:51growing up i was one of those boys i didn't used to listen to people do what i want to

13:06you know it's a wonder she's still got any hair i can totally imagine her doing moonies at the
13:12golf course i can imagine her doing it now i i literally wouldn't put it past her after a few

13:59option okay i will admit i got really disappointed when i thought i had cauliflower because as a vessel i
14:07think it's such a versatile vegetable and then i found out it was just fake chicken from a bag
14:13how are the spice levels wow on fire i could feel my face flushing my body temperatures rising
14:23i get that doing extreme yoga it's got a tingle on my tongue okay and i love it yeah just

14:30it's not really spicy yeah you're a hardcore girl the spice level was perfect for me but i definitely
14:36think a few more aromatics would have made the dish better with main course i expected to be
14:42jerk chicken spicy vibrant flavorsome i think leon's dish was just a little bit lacking good
14:50hours how did you cook the chicken obviously i wanted to make sure the flavors and the juices were there
14:54i kind of just used kind of a similar style to an airfryer style instead of cooking in the oven
14:59so you
14:59air fried it yeah yeah and that's quite common with obviously jerk chicken airfryer is not a traditional
15:05jamaican kitchen appliance though is it no it's the way you cook it well i thought you might have used
15:11the barbecue but he might just actually just gone some effort he even had a barbecue stand in his garden
15:16he could have done it i have air fryer myself and it does actually give a very good result but
15:22at the same
15:23time it's kind of a shortcut so me in school i was in the back of my music class and
15:31there was a boy
15:32stood up so i thought you know what let me play a bit of a joke so i pulled his
15:36chair away and he
15:37smashed his head on the cabinet oh dear oh god that backfired i was just very impulsive has anyone else
15:44got any stories of doing things that they wish they never done i really regret auditioning for the
15:48school choir in junior school because because i made it and i was in that choir for the last two
15:54years junior school it was terrible you didn't sing the song you know um oh happy day remember sister act

16:24i find impromptu singing and performing really awkward and a little bit cringy it properly gives me

17:53i would call him silent assassin this sounds like a fart and i'll explain that i really think you

18:14it still doesn't make it not sound like a fart silent but deadly i don't know if leon knew what

18:31i think it does more like a really guardian angel more than a silent assassin i think my jerk chicken
18:37went down a storm it did give him a kick to begin with but as they started getting through it

19:07have you got any more of the kind of drizzle i didn't want to put too much on because i

19:11want it to take away from the ginger no it's stunning no worries yeah i just like it to be

19:15little bit more moist i was really hoping for a dense gooey saucy sticky cake and i just i didn't
19:23get that unfortunately it was just a little bit dry and what about the ginger yeah so i basically use
19:29the ginger paste the reason why i use the ginger paste is because raw ginger can be very strong
19:34and obviously i didn't want to overpower the cake with raw ginger and i thought it was
19:39a happy medium i really could not taste any ginger in the cake i literally thought he made it with
19:46molasses i would have added maybe a cream because the golden syrup is very sweet yeah yeah yeah
19:53i would have like preferred more ginger flavor and maybe an additional sauce to improve it it was
19:59very dry it needed the syrup it needed a custard it needed a cream it needed something it needed saving

20:47it was nice to see everybody just enjoying themselves being a little bit more relaxed
20:51and just taking the night as it comes we haven't had that yet so it was good
21:03everyone was bumping and grinding and getting down feeling the island vibe the love and the dance
21:09moves to top it off what can i say absolutely smashed out of the park let's get some schools
21:16the starter and the dessert were a bit of a letdown the main i loved but i wish he served
21:22more of it so
21:23i'm going to give leon a five tonight was really good fun really high energy however the cuisine
21:29wasn't quite up to scratch so therefore i'm giving leon a six tonight i'm going to score leon a six
21:37his jerk should have been spicier his pudding should have been moister but we had a great time with a
21:43good laugh so i scored my seven which means leon's caribbean cuisine gets him 24 points leaving him
21:49middle of the pack in second next time
