00:23warnings yet to the United States,
00:25threatening to turn the Gulf of Oman into
00:28what it calls a graveyard for American warships.
00:32The explosive statement came from Mohsen Rezai,
00:36a senior military advisor to Iran's supreme leader
00:39and a former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard
00:43Corps, or IRGC.
00:46In a video now circulating widely online,
00:49Rezai warned the U.S. military to back off before Iran unleashes
00:54its full response in the strategically critical waters
00:58near the Strait of Hormuz.
00:59He declared, quote,
01:01the Gulf of Oman will become a graveyard for your ships.
01:06The warning comes amid rapidly escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington
01:12during the ongoing 2026 naval standoff in the Gulf region.
01:17The United States has intensified operations targeting Iranian-linked shipping routes in the Gulf of Oman,
01:24Arabian Sea, and Strait of Hormuz,
01:27accusing Tehran of transporting military-related cargo and destabilizing the region.
01:33However, Iran calls the American actions piracy and says the U.S. is effectively imposing a naval blockade against the
01:43Islamic Republic.
01:44Iranian officials have repeatedly vowed retaliation if Washington pushes further,
01:50but Rezai's latest remarks are among the strongest yet.
01:54He also accused the U.S. of provoking war while claiming Iran had shown restraint until now.
02:01Iranian state media and IRGC-linked outlets are presenting the message as a direct warning to U.S. aircraft carriers
02:10and naval forces operating near Iranian waters.
02:14Tehran believes it can exploit the geography of the region, particularly the narrow Strait of Hormuz,
02:20using anti-ship missiles, drones, naval mines, and fast attack boats designed for asymmetrical warfare.
02:29For decades, Iran has threatened to disrupt shipping in the Strait of Hormuz during crises.
02:35Around one-fifth of the world's oil passes through this critical chokepoint,
02:41making any confrontation there a major global concern.
02:44Despite the fiery rhetoric, analysts say these threats are also part psychological warfare,
02:52aimed at deterring Washington while rallying Iranian domestic support.
02:57The U.S. Navy still maintains overwhelming superiority in conventional naval power.
03:03However, military experts warn that confined waters like the Gulf and Hormuz region remain highly vulnerable
03:11to surprise attacks, drone swarms, and missile strikes.
03:15So far, there have been no confirmed reports of major U.S. warships being sunk or destroyed in the current
03:22tensions.
03:23But both sides have accused each other of aggressive actions involving drones, seizures of vessels, and maritime confrontations.
03:32The danger now is miscalculation, with military forces operating in extremely close proximity
03:39of the country inside one of the world's most sensitive waterways,
03:43even a small incident could spiral into a much larger regional conflict.
