00:00I really feel confident about Sam Walker being the best option to play half back for Queensland and I know
00:07how much he loves this state. Growing up in Ipswich, just west of Brisbane, I can just imagine him in
00:15the backyard dreaming of playing for Queensland with number 7 on his back so it gives me chills sort of
00:20thinking about it.
00:21I can't wait to see him in camp, he's an infectious little lad and I'm looking forward to helping him
00:27get his game on and I know he'll unlock plenty of the players around him as well.
00:31I had a few really good phone calls, a couple of tough ones but some really good phone calls and
00:36Sam was one. I can imagine how he felt when he received it, the news that he was going to
00:44play for Queensland for the first time.
00:46I think it's a really exciting team. Now we get the opportunity over the next nine days to get to
00:51work and build our preparation so we can go out and play our best footballing next Wednesday night.
00:56It is difficult but I think we've all seen what Kalen's done at this level but also in his return
01:03when he's played for the Knights this year.
01:05We've seen Reece play at this level a couple of years ago and was probably one of the most influential
01:11players in the Queensland team.
01:12I've got a great relationship with Reece and I've got a lot of time for him. I love the way
01:16he plays his footy and he's getting there.
