Strangest Fish Of The Day Gets A Gentle Send-Off

Some catches stand out less for their size than for how unfamiliar they look up close.

On the boat, Lucas holds up a gafftopsail catfish, turning it slightly as its long fins flare outward.

“I was on a fishing trip in Laguna, out on the boat with my friends, when I caught a fish,” Lucas told WooGlobe.

After a brief look at the fish, he lowers it back down and releases it into the water.

The moment plays like a quick reminder that the most memorable part of fishing can be the unexpected variety.

It ends quietly, with the odd-looking catch returning to Laguna Santa Catarina.
