00:00The Pistons put their, you know, foot on the gas, J.Y., and just kept it rolling, and they won
00:07in a way, I feel we haven't seen from them a lot.
00:10A lot of the backup against the wall performances are Cade Cunningham giving you 30, 35, and hey, maybe one
00:16or two guys came along.
00:17This team had six guys, not only in double digits, they had five guys, J.Y., go for 14 or
00:25more.
00:26Cade was a leading scorer at 21. I was really impressed with what Detroit brought to the table here to
00:32force a Game 7 back in their building.
00:35Yeah, I just think it's one of these situations where they just, I don't know, maybe they play better with
00:40their backs against the wall, 30-21, 30, I'm sorry, 30-19 third quarter.
00:45I mean, listen, when you have a chance to close out a series and you have as many field goals
00:52as turnovers, yikes, that's a rough scene at third quarter.
00:58You know, and I think what people were saying about Detroit, especially if they were to get by and play
01:05the New Yorkers, well, you only have to worry about Cade.
01:07You have to worry about Cade. Well, now all of a sudden, you know, although a short foul that he
01:12gave you 10, Durin, who has been an enigma, let's be honest, this entire postseason finally stepped up and gave
01:20you a double-double.
01:21Big ball Paul, Paul Reed, someone that we just talked to, you talked about in the opening segment that Philadelphia
01:28misses.
01:28He gives you something off the bench. Duncan Robbins, it bangs two threes in the third quarter.
01:33And it's just, this is where Detroit can be really good if you spread the wealth around and you become
01:40harder to guard and you can't load up.
01:44Meanwhile, on the other side, let's be honest, Cade, you have two guys that can create shots, and that's Donovan
01:53Mitchell and James Harden.
01:54Well, they went 12-33 from the floor, right?
01:58Evan Mobley, all right, 6-14, better.
02:00But they don't, they didn't have everyone out, anybody else.
02:04And it sets up such an interesting storyline for game seven because, Kevin, I'll go there.
02:12Legacies are on the line for these, some of these Cavs guys.
02:18Like, if they don't, if they go 3-2, finally win a road game, and lose at home the way
02:26they do, and then lose game seven, if James Harden has another bad game seven, here we go.
02:34Here comes the conversation.
02:35If Donovan Mitchell does not perform, only one Western Conference final, you know, where do they look to go?
02:44Do they look at Jared Allen and Evan Mobley?
02:46Jared Allen, a little bit better, but he's had his moments.
02:48So, it sets up a very interesting game seven for a Detroit team, Kevin, I think, probably feels very comfortable
02:57with the fact that they went on the road, the road guys played well.
03:01Now you've got to bring this back to Detroit, and all the momentum is with a younger, fresher team in
03:08the Detroit Pistons.
03:09Yeah, I want to talk a little bit about the Harden stuff for a second here, because this is the
03:19exact conversation I remember having last year with people, and it's not died down.
03:26So, I don't blame Coach in any capacity for bringing up what he's bringing up, because he's not wrong that
03:32if Harden is not good in game seven, or really if they lose in game seven, people are going to
03:38lead, are literally going to lead shows with Harden.
03:43And I will say exactly what I said last year when the Clippers were eliminated in a game seven, that
03:47he was not good in against the Denver Nuggets.
03:49Why are we focused on James Harden?
03:52Guys, the James Harden story is written.
03:53It's what it is.
03:55He is, in the regular season, a true all-time great.
04:02I mean, honestly, for his career, he is a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
04:07The, I'll say this, Coach knows I'm a huge D-Wade guy, I don't think those conversations are as disrespectful
04:13as everybody else makes them out to be.
04:15The Harden postseason is why people feel like that.
04:19But, guys, why in the world do you think that's going to change at the age of 37, right, in
04:28year 17 or 16, whatever it might be, JY?
04:33Why, like, on Team 6, why would that change?
04:40Like, I'm not worried about Harden's legacy.
04:43Because I think the legacy is written.
04:45I think we know who James Harden is.
04:48I don't think, at the age of 37, James Harden is going to transition into a guy we label a
04:54winner, right?
04:55A guy we label a clutch postseason performer.
04:58He's not going to outdo, unless he wins finals MVP this year, which nobody actually thinks is going to happen.
05:05I'm more interested in Donovan Mitchell, who has tried to break through again and again and again and hasn't been
05:15able to.
