22:29As a part of Balagatan 26 we were conducting jungle survival training with the New Zealand
22:36Infantry and the Filipino Marines.
22:39So the Filipinos taught us how to patrol in the jungle and I found it interesting that
22:44it's very hard to see friendlies and communicate with them.
22:50The Filipino Marines taught us how to make traps for animals, how to start a fire and
22:58how to survive essentially.
23:03Yeah, so that entailed just how to survive so they took us again through what is the
23:09most important thing to survive on and they said water, they believed it was water.
23:14You can survive without anything as long as you have water and a knife.
23:19If you have a knife you can create fire, you can create shelter and you can also get sources
23:25of water.
23:26The hardest thing that jumped out at me is realising how hard it actually would be to survive in
23:34the jungle by yourself.
23:36Being alone with nothing it would be very daunting for someone who doesn't know how to survive
23:44in the jungle.
23:45So the biggest takeaway I got from the Filipino Marines is definitely have a partner, have
23:53some sort of person with you and that if the birds are eating the food you're genuinely
23:58pretty safe to eat it.
24:00So what I learnt from the jungle survival training with the Filipino Marines is definitely strength
24:06in numbers, having more people you're going to be better off for it and I definitely feel
24:12better equipped to survive in the jungle.
24:16The most valuable lesson I learnt during jungle survival training was how to make a fire from
24:21bamboo.
24:22It involved getting two bamboo pieces together and rubbing them until eventually it would catch
24:29and light to create a fire.
24:32By being able to make that we were able to boil water and cook food as well which is very
24:38important
24:38and heat.
24:40The Filipino Marines taught us how to make traps for animals, how to start a fire and how to
24:50survive essentially.
24:52So we conducted the live fire practice with the New Zealand Infantry and the Filipino Marines.
24:59The first practice was a static practice, shooting a number of different serials throughout
25:04that practice and then the second practice was a manoeuvre practice.
25:08She said,
25:08it means, for some reason.
25:10If he explains the truth, if we were able to fight, the human world is a manoeuvre practice,
25:11the manoeuvre practice.
25:12If we that is that word practice is a manoeuvre practice, we they said there are any other people
25:14Women in the Marine Corps would have Fen potions, job or 8.
25:14That would call them, every attempt to paint those
25:14Now that's for his death.
25:14We are probably in Canada to fill a lot of aumenta down or 10 miles, search lou astoundstatement or
