20:13Trans attacked view,
20:17So these are the people he with. One, two, three, four. Four chicks. That's a female. That's not a dude.
20:23That's a suspect right here.
20:24I think she must be fussing with the dude. And she's shooting at him. And this is a victim right
20:30here.
20:31She need to be caught. That is insane, bro.
20:34This is so negligent. Lord have mercy.
20:37It's very shocking that our shooter in this case was a female.
20:41I'm just surprised that a female would do something like that, would shoot in a crowd of people, you know.
20:48But that's not something that we would normally have.
20:51Most of the time, most of the violent acts that we are having in our city is being committed by
20:56men.
20:56But lately, a lot of females have been pulling off some acts.
21:01When we initially looked at the footage, we thought that the male with the gray shirt was the shooter.
21:08But with the additional video footage that shows the female with the weapon in hand shooting in the direction where
21:15the victim was, was, was found.
21:18That wasn't even a, that wasn't even a dude with the sweaty ass gray shirt on.
21:21No, no, it wasn't.
21:22Who was tripping, who was tripping in the street.
21:24It was the female who kept trying to pull him away.
21:26Wow.
21:26That was actually the shooter.
21:27And she just turns around and just blindly shoots down the street.
21:30Yeah.
21:31And hit the wrong person, completely missed her target.
21:34Yes.
21:34Wow.
21:35Yeah.
21:35Okay.
21:38Well, they say she only stopped firing because it looks like the magazine prematurely ejected from the pistol.
21:44Oh, wow.
21:46As we're looking at the video, you're able to see when she fires two shots, the magazine immediately falls out
21:54of the gun.
21:55Wow.
21:55So she would have shot more.
21:56So she hit that wall over here.
21:57Yeah, let me see.
21:58See that?
21:58I believe in divine intervention, because had she continued to shoot, she could have shot multiple people.
22:08And this could have been a major, major disaster.
22:14Right where the white spot is.
22:16Way up here.
22:17Way up here.
22:20Yeah.
22:21That looked like two.
22:24That's a big hole.
22:25That's one, yeah.
22:26It's one.
22:27But she, yeah.
22:28Hit way up there.
22:32She didn't even shoot nowhere near her target.
22:35She missed, like, two times, like, literally.
22:40She was all over the place.
22:42Yeah.
22:42We just got to identify who the hell that person was with the damn dreads shooting down the damn street
22:50blindly on Bourbon Street.
22:53Even though we're able to see that the person in the video is a female, we still don't have enough
23:00to make a positive ID as to who this person is just yet.
23:04Since we have a plate and make and model of the vehicle, are they going to put something in the
23:10system to where anytime it passes through a read, it'll notify Texas?
23:15It's going to notify the agencies when that vehicle hits, and if that, like it said, like if a troop
23:21or somebody is driving and that place hit, they get a hit, they're going to stop their car wherever they
23:27go.
23:27It's going to be, it's like nationwide.
23:29Almost like a stolen car.
23:31Almost like a stolen car type thing.
23:33Okay, perfect.
23:34So we good.
23:35We cooking with grease night, y'all.
23:37All right.
23:37Well, good.
23:38Hopefully the BOLO will provide us with information on each one of those people that were there that night.
23:45So we can have them extradited back to the city.
23:49All right.
23:50HQ bound.
24:29Oh, that's the one with the sound.
24:30All right.
24:30I got it.
24:35That's them.
24:38You're going to hear them arguing.
24:58Go, Mia, go, Mia, go, Mia, go, Mia, go.
25:04You definitely heard the name called.
25:08Touch a chute randomly down the street.
25:10Wow.
25:12I think it's upsetting knowing that females were even involved in this altercation,
25:21and a female fired the firearm and killed this guy.
25:27It just saddens me.
25:29It's just another senseless murder.
25:33That's that, ma'am.
25:35That's what we got.
25:50Okay.
25:51Get on the highway.
25:53Let's roll.
25:54I got a call that the vehicle had been spotted in Mississippi at an event hall.
26:02Now we have to go to Mississippi to interview the three ladies that they have detained.
26:08I'm putting sleep aside.
26:10I'm putting food aside.
26:12We going to get it.
26:13We going to see what's what.
26:31It's been a while since I've had a case to come together this fast.
26:35But it feels good to know that we've had the help of multiple agencies to help us with this.
26:42The vehicle had been spotted, and inside the vehicle, there are three black females.
26:51Mia Lindsey.
26:54How y'all doing?
26:56And Mariah Campbell.
26:58How you doing?
26:59They were at a wedding when they located them.
27:03And I'm like, a wedding?
27:05Y'all at a wedding reception?
27:06How you doing?
27:09All right, Ms. Campbell, I'm conducting a shooting investigation that happened on Saturday at about 4 a.m.
27:16on Bourbon Street.
27:18Where were you on Friday morning?
27:20I mean, Saturday morning at around 4 a.m.?
27:24Bourbon Street, I believe.
27:26You want Bourbon Street?
27:26I believe in Bourbon Street.
27:28Listen, I didn't sleep in like 24 hours.
27:31So, yeah, it was a bachelorette party.
27:35Okay, with a bachelorette party.
27:36My friends.
27:38Okay.
27:39And what did you do on Bourbon Street?
27:42I went to some clubs.
27:44I'm a tourist, so.
27:46Okay.
27:46That's all.
27:47Okay.
27:48Okay.
27:50All right, so, like I said, I'm investigating a shooting.
27:53Mm-hmm.
27:53Um, did you, were you there when the shooting took place on Bourbon Street?
27:58I don't recall a shooting.
27:59You don't recall a shooting?
28:00I'm being so serious.
28:02I'm being so serious, too.
28:03So, I'm going to just, I'm going to just tell you, I'm going to just tell you like this.
28:06At this point, your responses are going to determine whether or not you go home or you stay in jail.
28:13Period, point blank.
28:14I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I've been doing two hours.
28:17I've been at work since 4.30 yesterday morning.
28:20So, I'm not going to sit up here and play with you and have you insult my intelligence and say
28:26that you don't know what I'm talking about.
28:30Okay?
28:32You think it's a, you think it's by chance that we, that we got them to stop y'all car?
28:37Or that we got, we came all the way down from New Orleans to Columbia, Mississippi?
28:43I'm not here to play with you, ma'am.
28:46This is serious.
28:46This is not a game.
28:47This is your life.
28:48If you don't care about it, guess what?
28:50I ain't going to tell you either.
28:52What happened on Saturday morning?
29:02Y'all was on Burden Street.
29:04Do you know that on Burden Street, they have cameras literally at every business.
29:09They have cameras in every block.
29:11Maybe about six or seven cameras in one block.
29:15What happened on Saturday morning?
29:20Talking to Mariah is very frustrating.
29:23Nothing is funny.
29:23You think, you think it's a game?
29:25It's two o'clock in the damn morning.
29:27I ain't got time to play with you.
29:29I'm tired.
29:30The people who were with you guys.
29:32This is my first time.
29:35Okay, so they, they were, they were all riding with you?
29:38Mm-hmm.
29:38I was allowed to drive.
29:41And you don't, you don't know the names of the people that went that way?
29:44Mm-hmm.
29:46Again, what did y'all do?
29:48Tell me when y'all, y'all got down here, y'all went to Burden Street.
29:52And what did y'all do when y'all got to Burden Street?
29:53Um, we walked, I guess, the strip into a couple of clubs.
30:00I didn't know if, I don't know what time I got there.
30:04But I know it was late.
30:06And about how long were you down there?
30:10Maybe about an hour, two hours.
30:15Maybe longer.
30:16I really don't know the time.
30:19I don't know the time.
30:20I don't know the time.
30:21Okay.
30:25Okay.
30:28Mariah is playing games.
30:30And she don't recall this, and she doesn't recall that.
30:33But she did, in fact, say that they were on Burden Street.
30:36But she was really aggravating us.
30:40She thought everything was a joke.
30:41So, I'm gonna get that last laugh, boo.
30:45Where were you on Saturday about 4 a.m.?
30:48On Burden Street.
30:49You were on Burden Street.
30:50Okay.
30:51Who were you with on Burden Street?
30:52What?
30:54The girl who I came, whose wedding I came back for for.
30:58Uh, .
31:00Okay.
31:01And who else?
31:02Um, Mia.
31:04Uh-huh.
31:05And what's Mia's last name?
31:06Um.
31:07Um.
31:09Okay.
31:09And who else?
31:11Mariah.
31:12What's Mariah's last name?
31:13Uh, I just, my hair.
31:15Okay.
31:16And who else?
31:17Um, Kim.
31:18Who?
31:19Kim.
31:19C-A-M?
31:20Mm-hmm.
31:21And that's,
31:23Mia's brother.
31:24Okay.
31:25And when you were on Burden Street, did anything happen on Burden Street?
31:28Um, I noticed one guy, he kept coming, like, trying to talk to, I think, Mariah or something.
31:37And I think, um, me getting upset.
31:40And, you know, we kept telling the guys, you know, this go, go, go.
31:44Mm-hmm.
31:46As I turned around, that's when I heard shots go off.
31:50What did you think?
31:51What did you think happened?
31:52Like I said, I don't know.
31:53You thought someone was shooting at you all?
31:55Yeah, I didn't know if it was the person we was telling to go.
31:58Or, like I said, I didn't know if it was somebody from our group.
32:01Or if it was just, like I said, a lot going on.
32:04Or if it was just somebody, something else going on.
32:06I don't know.
32:08I just heard two shots.
32:10And I took off right in that trip.
32:16I don't know who started shooting at.
32:18I don't know what.
32:19You know who started shooting.
32:21I'm not, we're not going to go through this, okay?
32:23Um, this is a serious incident, okay?
32:25Listen to me.
32:26This is very serious, okay?
32:29This is not a, this is not a game.
32:31Oh, no, it's not a game.
32:32Okay.
32:33Because we came all the way from New Orleans for this, okay?
32:35And what, how you respond, and, um, from this point on, it's going to determine whether
32:42or not you go home or you, or you, or you stay here.
32:45So, we need to know this one.
32:47I understand.
32:48I'm telling you everything.
32:49No, you're not telling me everything.
32:51Who was shooting?
32:57The Rick.
32:59Mia apologized to me today.
33:02For what?
33:05First shooting, I'm guessing.
33:07Because, like I said, I didn't necessarily see anyone pull out a gun and shoot.
33:14I'm telling you the truth.
33:15Promise.
33:15I just heard gunshots, and I started running.
33:19Like, this is a complete nightmare.
33:23I mean, I just want to get home.
33:25I promise you, I'll cooperate.
33:27Anything y'all want me to do.
33:30I believe she was being truthful, and she wants to do whatever she can to help.
33:35At this point, Mia is the person that we need to talk to.
33:40We're investigating a shooting that happened on Saturday at about 4 a.m.
33:45On Bourbon Street.
33:47Where were you on this past Saturday at about 4 a.m.?
33:55I don't want to go.
33:57Um, did you go to New Orleans on Friday with your...
34:02Did y'all go to New Orleans at any time?
34:10Y'all went somewhere partying for her wedding?
34:15Y'all went somewhere partying for her wedding?
34:18Okay, where did y'all go?
34:20I'm directionally challenged.
34:22You're directionally challenged, that's what you're saying?
34:26Mia totally pissed me off during this interview.
34:29She was evading all of my questions.
34:32She was very uncooperative.
34:34What's your address?
34:37I'm calling home to her.
34:38I already don't know.
34:41You know your cell phone number?
34:43I just got a new number.
34:45I'm not about to play with her.
34:47I'm done with this.
34:48Anybody about to sit up and play with you, all right?
34:50You can play dumb and you can play stupid all you want.
34:53But we didn't come all the way down here from New Orleans for nothing.
34:56So we're not coming down here to play with you.
34:58I'm not going to let you sit here and insult my intelligence.
35:01Either you're going to talk to me, or you're not going to talk to me.
35:05And guess what?
35:06If you don't talk to me, that's on you.
35:07Because this is going to be your only opportunity that you're going to have to talk to me.
35:12And then you're going to be going back across the street,
35:14and you're going to be waiting until they come back to get you.
35:18To bring you back to New Orleans.
35:20To face these charges that you're about to get.
35:24Do you understand that?
35:26What did you do Saturday night?
35:31I think Mia has way more sense and is very competent.
35:36I don't know how you can not remember something that you did 24 hours ago.
35:43You shot a gun.
35:46And we have proof of that.
35:49But the unfortunate part of all of this is that there was someone that died.
35:54So this is a homicide investigation.
35:57Okay?
35:58And so at this point, you won't be going home.
36:00You will be getting charged with second-degree murder.
36:02Okay?
36:02And you will be going to New Orleans in maybe a week or so, whenever they decide to come.
36:09Okay?
36:10All right.
36:11We're done.
36:11The time is 3.42.
36:15You can have a seat there on the coming page.
36:18I'm done.
36:19I'm not going to keep playing this game with you.
36:22You're going to go back to a cell and you're going to be charged.
36:24You know?
36:25And someone else is planning a funeral for their loved one who had nothing to do with nothing.
36:33And it's very sad.
37:05And it's very sad.
37:15Did your email come through?
37:17I'm about to check it in a second.
37:21Okay, y'all.
37:22Here we go.
37:22Here we go.
37:22Look, look, look, look.
37:24Hey, Sarge.
37:26So we got video from...
37:28This is from a business on Bourbon Street that captured the shooting.
37:34So we're going to see the group right here walking up.
37:41They're arguing with another guy that's kind of like following them.
37:44So they're trying to push them up the street.
37:49And telling the guy to go back because he's walking towards them.
37:53And here she goes.
37:56And she drops the magazine.
37:58And this is Mia Lindsey.
38:02So this is going to be Mariah, the driver of the car.
38:07And she's trying to say she didn't see anything.
38:08But she's turned around and she's looking.
38:11The only person that can honestly say they didn't see anything was the...
38:14It's her.
38:17That's all.
38:19So this is Mia's brother, Cameron.
38:24She dropped the magazine and her brother picked it up.
38:27So, wow.
38:30You know, it could have been multiple people shot.
38:32With all those people.
38:33Yeah, that was...
38:34It was straight carelessness.
38:37That man could have been shot.
38:39The girl, she could have been shot.
38:41That's just how close she was.
38:45This is ridiculous.
38:47Yes, sir.
38:48Really ridiculous.
38:50They were walking up Bourbon Street.
38:52And the guy and Mia kept getting into it.
38:55And they were arguing.
38:57Mia ultimately pulled her weapon.
38:59And began to fire in the guy's direction.
39:02Unfortunately, she missed him.
39:04And struck Mr. Oates.
39:05Who had nothing to do with this incident whatsoever.
39:09We got a good bit done.
39:11But still got a little more work to do.
39:14But I'm glad we got her off the street.
39:17And more arrests to come.
39:19Yeah.
39:35All right, so on yesterday, there was an indictment that went through on the homicide of Christopher Oates, Jr.
39:42Mia Lindsay, Mariah Campbell, as well as Cameron Lindsay were all indicted in this case.
39:48Yeah.
39:48I'll see you in the middle of this.
39:49Yeah.
40:00Yeah.
40:06Yeah.
40:09Yeah.
40:13Yeah.
40:14Yeah.
40:14Yeah.
40:15Yeah.
40:15Yeah.
40:16Yeah.

40:28solve all my cases it's really a good feeling when you can say we got these people off the street

41:49for my son if he was here he would say live in peace i am an advocate for chris as
41:55well when we
41:56investigate homicides that's how we feel we feel that we are the voice of our victims because they're
42:02not able to talk they're not able to tell the story they're not able to say what happened so we
42:08are the ones that have to do that narrative for them and we are your support we're here we support
42:14you and your family and you know we just you know pray that justice is served as well thank you
42:21this is kind of a hard case as far as my victim being an innocent bystander it's heartbreaking it gives
