The 1997 TV movie Contagious follows a cholera outbreak in Los Angeles, triggered by tainted shrimp from South America served on a plane, leading an epidemiologist (Lindsay Wagner) and a narcotics detective (Elizabeth Peña) to race to find the source and contain the epidemic, complicated by contaminated drugs on the street and the doctor's family getting sick while isolated.
