00:00Move out day.
00:01You're out in the tent with the rest of us.
00:04She's great.
00:05Ah, but I don't need eight.
00:06I only need four.
00:07Taze, do you have?
00:08She needs help.
00:09That's not what she said.
00:10That is what I said, isn't it?
00:11If you hit the target once, we will help you move furniture.
00:14OK.
00:15No!
00:16I gotta go back to work.
00:18No, no, busy two weeks.
00:19How could you do this in that length of time?
00:22How could this have happened?
00:29Last week, we started renovating this off-the-grid cabin,
00:32six hours away from home.
00:33And this week, we have to finish it.
00:41Breaker, breaker, this here's Tennessee Jedi,
00:43just back from civilization, back in the nine miles,
00:46but ready to fire up another convoy.
00:49This is Gray Squirrel here.
00:50Got you loud and clear, Tennessee Jed.
00:52Looks like we got ourselves another convoy.
00:55Let's keep on trucking and get this camp finished up.
01:00This weekend, we went whitewater rafting.
01:12Chase and I and Fletcher, we met Sarah and Maggie.
01:15We all went rafting.
01:19Rafting Classified Rapids, never done that before.
01:22Water was running really high.
01:27We had the best guide.
01:29It was amazing.
01:35Morning, everybody!
01:36Morning, Chase.
01:37So it's week two at the Nine Mile Camp.
01:40We got the exterior wrapped up last week.
01:42Everybody went their own separate ways over the weekend
01:44and have come back recharged and ready to finish this two-week transformation.
01:48Move out day!
01:50Would you like a nectarine?
01:52I will.
01:53Move out day.
01:54What do you mean?
01:55Because we got to start working on the interior.
01:56We only need a little corner.
01:58We got to vacate the premise.
01:59The old hunting cabin, built in the 80s by my grandfather, father, and Uncle Bruce,
02:03has a mudroom in the entryway.
02:05You walk into an open dining living area.
02:07It's got a kitchen, a small bathroom with off-the-grid plumbing.
02:14Upstairs is one big room with a deck and a small closet that will be used for extra sleeping space.
02:19Outside, we already tore down the old outhouse, built the new one.
02:23There is another storage shed that we plan on siding this week.
02:27We need to trim out the door.
02:29Kitchen's getting redone.
02:30Bathroom's getting redone.
02:31Front window's getting trimmed out.
02:34Upstairs, the walls, bunk beds are getting built, and the slider door is getting trimmed out.
02:41Gable-end window's getting finished off, so you're out in the tent with the rest of us.
02:45When was the last time you stayed in a tent?
02:47I don't know.
02:47Is there room for Trigger on it?
02:48I guess we're moving out.
02:50Can we finish breakfast?
02:51On the inside of Noah's cabin, we've already insulated the new picture window and replaced both of the doors downstairs.
02:57This week, we're going to update the kitchen with new countertops, as well as refreshing the inside bathroom with new
03:02flooring and a new door.
03:03Upstairs, we've replaced all the windows and installed a new slider.
03:07Our plan this week is to build brand new bunk beds with privacy shields and create a more warm and
03:11welcoming sleeping space for the family.
03:13Aw, it was a good place.
03:15While it lasted.
03:16Our balcony.
03:17I know.
03:18We had a balcony, we had new windows, new doors.
03:21Let's get our stuff.
03:22Trigger, that's not your bed anymore.
03:23We're moving out, Triggs.
03:25Chase kicked us out.
03:27Outside, we need to re-side the old outbuilding.
03:29We need to add a drip edge around the cabin, build a rail and ramp for the new outhouse, add
03:34solar to the outhouse, paint all the trim, build benches for the fire pit, build a new canoe rack, and
03:39of course, an archery area for the boys.
03:40Good morning.
03:42I've put a list together of everything.
03:43I think it's doable.
03:44There's enough of us here, and it's all super straightforward.
03:48We are limited on materials, so just be very conscientious about what you're cutting up.
03:53Try and find scrap short pieces before you cut up new stuff.
03:56The punch list is always long towards the end of a project.
03:58Last week, we focused on the exterior.
04:00This week, we're focusing on the interior.
04:02Guys have been working really hard.
04:03They've been up here almost a week and a half.
04:10Yeah, here in the bathroom, we're just trying to touch things up a little bit, make it a little more
04:14cozier.
04:15Make it feel a little bit more like home.
04:17We've got this click-down floor and kind of looks like marble.
04:20Nice, easy install.
04:21We're just going to get it in here, get a nice floor in here so it's easy to clean up,
04:25easy for water spilling.
04:28So up here at Nine Mile, there is no running water.
04:31There is a shower.
04:32It's a gravity feed.
04:34Barrel fills up.
04:35You have the ability to take a cold shower that goes to a holding tank.
04:39Other than that, there is no plumbing here at Nine Mile.
04:43Things are going good in the bathroom.
04:45Floor's going to be watertight in no time.
04:47We did the math.
04:48We have enough log siding to do these two sides to work on the back.
04:52But to stretch everything out, we have some drops of one-by material.
04:56I'm going to start cutting them and sanding them for up there.
04:58So we have log siding down here.
05:00We'll stain the other stuff to match as well.
05:02So it's going to look really good.
05:02It's all going to be new.
05:03You know, we had enough leftover siding and boards to make the old outbuilding look perfect.
05:08You know, I got to admire Chase because last, in the last week, I saw that old house.
05:12I was like, can we fix that?
05:13Chase, we're like kids saying, can we get an ice cream more?
05:15Can we get it?
05:15And he won't say yes.
05:16Won't say yes.
05:17You know, he had to know that there's materials left over and there's time.
05:20You guys can do it.
05:21But he will not say it until he knows.
05:24Boom.
05:24And then we had enough to make a nice ramp so no one's going to have to worry about steps
05:28going in the outhouse at night.
05:30Yeah, it looks great.
05:31Right?
05:31I think it's almost good enough to make a sauna out of it.
05:34Guys, got the outhouse ramp and the railing all done.
05:36We're going to get rid of that.
05:38I got the bathroom floor all done and taken care of.
05:41Now it's jumping on to the next.
05:45We need to figure out what height we want our beds at.
05:47I envision the top bunks being used the least.
05:51The little kids need at least this much space, right?
05:54Just sit up.
05:55A little kid.
05:57Is this about the size of a little kid?
05:58Today, Fletcher's not here, so I decided to step in and take Fletcher's position.
06:03So I asked my brother what I could do to help him.
06:06Just being mini Fletcher today.
06:08I'm not quite sure how Fletcher wore this hat the whole time.
06:12It's way too hot.
06:13This is an outside hat.
06:15The ceilings upstairs are really low, so we needed to design the bunk beds
06:18so that the person on the bottom bunk had enough space to sit down comfortably
06:22and not have to sit on the floor and then kind of be able to sit up with leaving enough
06:28space
06:28for the person on the top bunk to have a little bit of headroom.
06:31Oh, boy.
06:33This one is too long, guys.
06:35I don't want to break any of these windows.
06:37There's only two top bunks.
06:39We assume that those are probably going to be for the children,
06:41so you don't need as much headroom, so we had to keep that in mind.
06:44Hopefully it'll flip up.
06:46We're hopefully going to flip it up.
06:50We might need some more help.
06:53Might not make it.
06:54Oh, dang it off, Chase.
06:56Ah, it's not going to make it.
06:57All right.
06:57Chop them off.
07:01So these are going to be the bed frames, right?
07:04And then these are just temporary legs to see what height we want the beds to be.
07:09We're trying to figure out the height that they can be,
07:11but in order for us to flip it over, we have to cut off these ends
07:14because we cannot flip the bed because these ends are too tall.
07:18Now he's going to cut them off, and then we're going to try flipping it again.
07:22Put on your safety goggles.
07:25Now he's cutting them off, and then we're going to try flipping it again.
07:30Just like that.
07:34Matt, may we use your assistance?
07:35We need assistance.
07:36We need assistance.
07:37There we go.
07:39Oh, man.
07:39Would you look at that?
07:41Good look at that.
07:42All right.
07:43Back.
07:45Which way is it going?
07:48This way?
07:48Yeah.
07:49That's plenty of room for a kid.
07:51That's plenty of room for me.
07:52That's plenty of room for an adult.
07:54This is good.
07:54Just like this.
07:55Send it.
07:56Okay.
07:56So now we have to notch out our 4x4s.
07:59Those will go on the two ends.
08:01You're making some fancy beds.
08:03I'm making them sturdy.
08:05And then what's going to go on the other ends?
08:06On the other end, we have to do 2x4s because we don't have enough 4x4s.
08:10Great.
08:11I mean, you can cut a bunch of slats at 40.
08:12Okay.
08:13Because we're just going to run a strip, a strip, and then across it.
08:18So let's go show me which ones you want me to cut out the 40s.
08:21Okay.
08:21Okay.
08:22So what were my numbers?
08:2440.
08:25My age.
08:2640.
08:2740.
08:2740.
08:28Right now, we've got these guys out here building some benches.
08:30Getting them sanded down, routed up.
08:32Getting them stained.
08:33We'll have a nice little seating area outside for these.
08:36I'm finishing up the bathroom.
08:38Got my threshold.
08:39Last piece to go, and the bathroom's done.
08:43I need 8, 76 and a half.
08:461 and a half.
08:47Fresh or treated?
08:492x4s is what I need.
08:518 of them.
08:5176 and a half.
08:52Well, 8.
08:548 of the halfies.
08:56Right?
08:5970.
08:59I need 8.
09:012x4s at.
09:02No.
09:03I need 8, 76 ones long.
09:06And that are 1 and a half.
09:08That's not how you say that.
09:10Look.
09:10You say I need 8 2x4s at 76 and a half.
09:13But I don't need 8.
09:14I only need 4.
09:15I only need 8.
09:18So 4, you need 4.
09:212x4s at 76 and a half.
09:22Let's start with one thing.
09:23I need 8 of them.
09:25Because once you cut them in half, they're going to be 1.5 by 2 and a half by 2
09:29inches.
09:29Right?
09:30Yeah.
09:30Chase.
09:31She needs help.
09:33What?
09:33What does she need?
09:34I need 4 2x4s ripped.
09:36Right?
09:37Yeah.
09:38And then cut at 76 and a half.
09:3976 and a quarter.
09:404 of them ripped in half.
09:41And a half and a half and a half and a half.
09:42Likewise.
09:43That's what I said.
09:44All right, I'm on it.
09:45That's not what you said.
09:46That is what I said, isn't it?
09:52Noah and his family had asked for about sleeping space for 8 to 10 people.
09:58And it was one wide open room.
10:00He wanted a little bit of privacy.
10:02We kind of just built those partition walls just to give just a little bit of privacy.
10:07Oh yeah, I know.
10:08It looks really good.
10:08It definitely gives you privacy and it's definitely going to give you plenty of space.
10:12I like it.
10:13It was cool.
10:14The bunk beds, it was 4x4 posts, 2x6 bed frames.
10:20My dad used to make these for me all the time.
10:22No, I'm really good at them.
10:25Um, a stilter.
10:27I want them higher though.
10:28Thanks.
10:29Welcome to the circuit.
10:30You can only go to the hive.
10:32We're going to make another pair for me later, okay?
10:34Put it on the bottom right there.
10:36This end, this end.
10:37You could only fit so many beds in the space, but you put a bunk bed in, you double your
10:41sleeping
10:42space.
10:42So we built two sets of bunk beds and just making sure everything was supported and really
10:48locked together.
10:49You know, we've been here for a week working hard.
10:51We never really thought about covering our lumber over.
10:52That's what happens when a pressure tree that sits in the sun and doesn't get covered
10:56or weighted down.
10:58I'll get one board out of it.
11:00Why do these guys decide to put all of their tools in the heat?
11:04If I were them, I would put my tools right in the shade.
11:09But I'm not them.
11:11I guess I am them today though.
11:13Today I kind of figured out why the guys don't put the tools in the shade.
11:15It's because there is no shade on this job site.
11:17I'll stand in my shade like this.
11:19I'll make shade.
11:21Oh yeah.
11:22Look, you've got to make shade.
11:24So then I just made my own shade.
11:26I had big thick boards.
11:27Boom.
11:27Set them there while you're waiting.
11:28Hide behind the shade.
11:31Benches are done.
11:33A lot of skates are done.
11:35What next?
11:36So what I'm doing is insulating underneath where we reframed for this window.
11:41The old insulation that was in there had a lot of mice stuff in it.
11:46So I'm insulating it with rigid foam.
11:48Saved all the pieces.
11:49I'm going to pull the nails and reinstall everything.
11:52So I've got all the V match back on the wall.
11:55Now I'm just using the old trim.
11:57Milling it to fit the new window, which is a little bit smaller than the existing window.
12:01And we're going to use all the old trim pieces to put it back on.
12:04Since the top trim people have signed since the 90s.
12:07So we're going to reuse that.
12:09I mean, I could have had someone help me, but it was a lot of deciphering everything, putting
12:12it back together, making sure it looked like it always had been.
12:17So that's pretty much it for the window.
12:20Window trim.
12:21Filling in all of this.
12:23We tried to save everything as much as possible to reuse.
12:26Obviously, we wanted to save this for sure because it shows Bruce Meringue, 11.240 pound deer.
12:34Put it all back together.
12:36Now I'm just cleaning it up and moving on to the next projects that we have left.
12:41Ashley!
12:42Yeah?
12:43Come up here.
12:44Okay.
12:45Yes, sir.
12:46Climb up there and tell me what you think.
12:47Climb up there?
12:48No.
12:49Oh.
12:50Oh, test it out.
12:51Oh, we got the beds up?
12:54Oh.
12:56Oh, yeah.
12:56Why would you show me a place where I can rest?
12:59Come on.
12:59My tent is really comfy, so I'm not moving back in.
13:03Ah!
13:04Wait, wait, wait.
13:05I need to get down.
13:08Ah!
13:11Okay.
13:11I just landed that.
13:14This is what brothers do to sisters.
13:16Maybe she can't fall through.
13:17Because that's what's going to happen.
13:19Okay.
13:19Good job.
13:20Now let's build another one.
13:21Yeah.
13:21When I got into that top bunk, it was definitely roomy enough.
13:23I don't think I'd sleep up there.
13:25Unless I had to.
13:26If it was the only bed left, yes.
13:27Just because I don't want to sit up in the middle of the night.
13:29This looks like a legit place to sleep now.
13:32With all these little pods.
13:34One more wall for after lunch and one more bunk bed.
13:36And this place is done up here.
13:40Watch that sink don't bend.
13:42Yeah.
13:43Steve and Brad were replacing the kitchen countertop.
13:46It's not the same layout.
13:48It was just one corner.
13:49So they had to cut back the kitchen cabinets and extend out the left side to give a little
13:54bit more workspace in the kitchen.
13:59Just building a Z-back door for the bathroom.
14:02Get that built.
14:03Get that installed.
14:04Then the bathroom's all done.
14:05We can walk away from it.
14:09Got my Z-back door all built.
14:12Chase and I were just discussing which way we want this door to open.
14:15Ideally, we want it to open this way.
14:18So we don't cover up our light switches once the door opens on the inside.
14:22So I've got to take this shelf out.
14:24Then I can put my hinges on.
14:26We'll have a nice bathroom door here.
14:28And you'll get a little privacy in the privy.
14:43Knocking them off.
14:46So we're getting down on projects.
14:48I figured a little pressure to the left.
14:50I'll at least make Francis' base.
14:52And after lunch, we can go put some temporary legs in.
14:54We'll slide on the stairs.
14:55We'll backfill it with shale.
14:56It'll be perfect.
14:57Francis helped us a bunch this week.
14:59So it's good to be able to help him.
15:00And he kept us fed the last couple of weeks.
15:02The guys last week built the steps.
15:03They didn't have long enough material to make the stringers.
15:06So they could only go so far.
15:08It left us a little short.
15:09We were going to build it up with material.
15:10We're excited to box it in, fill it with shale.
15:12And we'll put some stones on it.
15:13It'll be beautiful.
15:20You want a hand?
15:21What do you want me to do?
15:22I'm finished up downstairs.
15:23Let's go look at the list, Brad.
15:25Everything on the punch list is pretty much wrapped up.
15:27I think that's all that's left is up here.
15:29But what else do you want me to do?
15:32Everything?
15:32Have you crossed it off the list?
15:34Not yet, Ashley.
15:36Hold on.
15:37Take this out.
15:38Could you even hear us?
15:39Yeah.
15:40He chooses not to.
15:41He had on his earplugs this whole time.
15:42Do you want any shelves or benches?
15:48Because we have some 1x12 left that can make nice.
15:50If you want to make benches, sure.
15:53But I do have some coming.
15:54I could cancel my order and we can make them here.
15:57When we have time, we have the material.
15:59We could have a shelf on each one.
16:00Look, check this out, guys.
16:02Could have a shelf right here.
16:04And then maybe a little coat rack.
16:07However many of those, we've got the 1x12.
16:09We might as well burn it up.
16:10One, two, three, four.
16:13Five.
16:14Five.
16:16Five would be great.
16:17Thanks.
16:18Yeah.
16:18Cool.
16:19Want me to help you?
16:20Yeah, I would love it.
16:20Let's go.
16:22All right, Brad.
16:23We've got to add this to the list, though,
16:25so that we have the satisfaction of crossing it off.
16:28It's a good idea.
16:29Makes it look like we've got more done.
16:31Shelves for pods.
16:33Five of them.
16:34On each one of the pods, I wanted to have a shelf and a coat rack.
16:37Originally, I was asked my design assistant, Heidi,
16:41to bring up some hooks that we were just going to screw on.
16:45But then Chase kind of suggested that he saw some old dead branches
16:48out behind the new outhouse.
16:50So I went out there, and they were perfect.
16:52Do we want them to be this big or that big?
16:55This big might be better.
16:56Okay.
16:57Right?
16:58Yeah.
16:59Easier to get a screw into.
17:01I don't hate that.
17:01Do you?
17:02Nope.
17:04All right, go try it out.
17:05Tell me if you like it.
17:07We had a cup straight out.
17:09Straight out?
17:09Yeah.
17:11The angles, there's no room left.
17:13Okay.
17:13I like it straight out better.
17:14Straight out.
17:18There's all this wood out here.
17:20So we went out and found some old dead branches.
17:23Brad just kind of chopped them up, and they made perfect little coat hangers.
17:27Those came out really good, Brad and Steve.
17:29Good job, Ashley.
17:30You guys did a really good job.
17:32I have all the proper bug gear.
17:35So today, I put on my bug suit.
17:37Don't bug me, Chase.
17:41You can't bug me no matter what you do.
17:43Ow!
17:44Oh, see?
17:44Bugs can get ya.
17:46You can get him!
17:46Bugs can get ya.
17:48Only if they're my brother.
17:50Head to toe bug suit.
17:52All right, thank you, Steve.
17:54Those are awesome, aren't they?
17:57I'm sorry that we bugged you.
18:02Shelves for pods.
18:03Done.
18:04Trim upstairs.
18:04Slider door.
18:05I think that's duh.
18:07Are they still working on that?
18:08Maybe.
18:09Builds canoe rack.
18:10That's Brad next after he helped me to the shelves.
18:13I'm running away.
18:15Back steps landing.
18:16They're doing that right now.
18:18Drip edge.
18:19Fire pit cleanup.
18:21Not much left.
18:26That's a wrap.
18:27Let's go swimming.
18:29Excuse me, look at what we just did.
18:30Look at all that.
18:31Look at all of it.
18:32You guys rock, seriously.
18:34Plus extra.
18:34We did extra, too.
18:35Yeah.
18:35We all deserve to get out of here and go swimming.
18:38Let's do it.
18:39All right.
18:39Okay.
18:40Boom, let's go.
18:42Everybody pushed today to get that punch list done so that we enjoy where we are.
18:46Tomorrow we're gonna take a little time and pack up everything we don't need and we can send
18:51the guys home and they can get home before it gets dark.
19:01We topped off the vehicles?
19:03Yeah.
19:04Okay.
19:06Where's Heidi?
19:06And Allie?
19:07Where are they?
19:08First thing in the morning here, week two.
19:10Couple days into it.
19:11Just waiting on the design team to get here.
19:13We've pretty much tied everything up.
19:14Crew's packing up, fueling up, loading up, getting ready to hit the road.
19:22There we go.
19:23All right.
19:23Now we're just replacing a few of these two-by-fours that were on this bench.
19:28A lot of these older ones were rotted, as you can see.
19:31Just kind of passing some time, getting ready to help design out.
19:34So I figure we'll replace these and have a nice little bench for the fire.
19:38Get out of the road.
19:39Get out of the road.
19:39Get out of the road.
19:40Heidi's coming.
19:41Middle of week two.
19:42We still have so much to do.
19:43They have canoe racks to build.
19:45We have an archery area to build.
19:48My team is going to be showing up any minute.
19:50We have the whole place to clean and then stage.
19:53And there's technically only going to be three of us.
19:54So it's going to be a lot of work.
19:56Oh, look.
19:57She found it.
19:58I hope it's her or else I'm waving to strangers.
20:01She's going to think I'm waving to her, but really I'm just swatting away all these horrible bugs.
20:04Hey.
20:05Hi.
20:06We made it.
20:07We found it.
20:08Yay.
20:09Safe and sound.
20:10Cleaning and design team.
20:12Mostly cleaning.
20:13How are the dusty roads?
20:15Very, very dusty.
20:16Dusty.
20:16Everything that they bought is full of dust.
20:18It looks great.
20:19Yeah, we've been working hard.
20:20Everybody just left all the subs over here.
20:23Why are you screaming at Heidi?
20:24She's here to help.
20:26Happy to see you.
20:26So yeah, why don't I give you a nice tour of the camp.
20:29Okay, perfect.
20:30I'll show you what we have in store.
20:35Design team, we'll be on the bench.
20:37Just grab the bullpen phone and give us a call when you need us.
20:46Beautiful.
20:51I bought this solar array, Jared, for my tent so I could have some lights.
20:55Instead of hauling it home, I figured we could set the lights up in the outhouse.
20:59Yeah?
21:00I've got four panels, a battery maintainer, and a bunch of lights.
21:04If you want, we can put this in and hook everything up.
21:07Cool.
21:07Yeah, let's do it.
21:09Let's shed a light on this shed.
21:11I've bought a couple of these small solar arrays before.
21:14They're just real convenient to have because you can have lights, you can charge batteries.
21:20It's all pretty much plug and go.
21:22It all has ends on it, so you just basically plug everything in.
21:25It has a battery minder.
21:27You just plug it into the battery minder and alligator clip your negative terminal and your positive terminal, and you
21:32got power.
21:34Because you really kind of want to be chasing the sun.
21:36Either that or we can put them right up here.
21:38I mean, they all fit right up here in the corner.
21:40Sun's starting over here.
21:41It's going to get, oh, it'll be noontime, one o'clock before it leaves.
21:47Cord's long enough to come right up here.
21:49Yeah.
21:50Yeah.
21:50So maybe we just stack them right in here.
21:52Yeah.
21:53And then run.
21:53They're kind of out of the way.
21:54Run a cord back in.
21:55Yeah.
21:56We can run.
21:56I got one extension cord that will get us up to here.
21:59Let's say we run with that.
22:00Okay.
22:01Technology nowadays is just really surpassing the whole off-grid camping.
22:05You can pretty much equip yourself, so you can stay on grid no matter how deep into the woods you
22:10go.
22:10It's charging.
22:15Battery's got 14.4 volts.
22:17Last thing to do is shut the doors and get on out of here.
22:21Yeah.
22:32Couple A's.
22:35You make two of these and screw them together.
22:37Build a canoe rack to hold as many canoes as we can.
22:40We're going to go A-frame, bend.
22:42A-frame, bend.
22:44Tie them together and then tie across to put four canoes on.
22:48Is that what you're thinking?
22:49We've got enough to do three.
22:51Okay.
22:51So we can do three.
22:52That way we'll know it will hold.
22:53You cut the same angle, marry them together, screw them together.
22:56We'll do it a couple different times.
22:59Just a basic truss.
23:00Just a basic truss.
23:02We had a bunch of pressure-treated six-by-sixes and two-by-fours left over.
23:07Chase and I had decided that we were going to basically make two A-frames out of the six-by
23:11-sixes.
23:13And then we're going to lock it all together with the pressure-treated two-by-fours.
23:17Put a couple of braces just a little.
23:19Braces in there.
23:20And then stand them.
23:22Then stand them.
23:23We'll take a look at it.
23:25Same.
23:26Ah!
23:27Same mile!
23:28Where does he want the canoe at?
23:30Oh, I was going to put it down.
23:32He had it over there.
23:32You probably want it so you can't see it from the road, right?
23:35I would say yeah, probably.
23:37Okay.
23:37Do you want to carry it over where it's going to go?
23:39Okay.
23:39You ready?
23:45Oh, looking good.
23:46I know.
23:46We're almost done with the kitchen and then we could give it a big sweep.
23:48Yeah, let's do that.
23:49Give it a big sweep.
23:51Maybe I'll get Jedi or one of the guys out there that's not doing anything to set up the Adirondack.
23:54Adirondack chairs and then there's a patio set too.
23:57Patio set could probably go on the porch up there.
23:59Yeah.
23:59That's all ready to go.
24:00All right.
24:01This is coming fast.
24:02That sounds good.
24:03We're moving.
24:04Which one do you want to start with, Ashley?
24:06Have you put this together before?
24:08Nope.
24:09Got some really nice Adirondack chairs that needed to be assembled.
24:12So Ryan and Jedi assembled those for me.
24:14All right.
24:14So my Uncle Bruce, always.
24:16Yeah?
24:16You'd never see them without a red felt hat.
24:19Oh, yeah, mine.
24:19So I bought these in honor of him.
24:21They're not necessarily felt, but we're going to honor Uncle Bruce today.
24:25Uncle Bruce is married to Martha and Martha is my dad's sister.
24:29It's very rare that you saw my Uncle Bruce without his red felt hat on.
24:32I thought it would just be a nice way to remember him and to honor him.
24:35You got a fat head one?
24:37No.
24:38You could make it fit.
24:40You were like that.
24:42It was always dirty.
24:43Dirty?
24:44Yeah.
24:45Yeah.
24:45I was going to do the same thing.
24:46Dirty it up.
24:47Make it your own.
24:49But don't lose it.
24:51Hey there.
24:52Let's get the canoe rack there fixed up.
24:54Like a pit crew almost.
24:56We're getting there.
24:56Oh, much better.
25:00Okay.
25:00It looks pretty even, doesn't it?
25:02Yep.
25:04Yep.
25:05Yep.
25:06How's your canoe rack coming?
25:07Great.
25:08You done?
25:10No.
25:13Pretty close to it though.
25:14Yeah.
25:14Cheers, Uncle Bruce.
25:17All of the major build components were done.
25:19Francis is putting down some flat stones around the fireplace, around the back door.
25:23I hope Uncle Bruce would be happy with this.
25:28Trying to follow his style.
25:30Besides the canoe rack and the archery range, it's all kind of the final touches, the icing
25:36on the cake.
25:36Four canoes, four of us.
25:38We could race.
25:39If we weren't racing Mother Nature.
25:41What are these two Bugattis doing?
25:44Oh, they're going high.
25:46No, I'm not going.
25:47Okay, yeah.
25:47We're going high.
25:48Walk it over.
25:49Just give me a minute.
25:51Walk it towards Jedi.
25:53Keep walking.
25:54Hey guys.
25:56I got you.
25:57Oh, Jedi's got this.
25:59He's portaged before.
26:01Show off.
26:02Just kidding.
26:04So, I know what you guys are going to say.
26:06That you're done.
26:07Can we get some help over here, please?
26:09Pretty please.
26:12Can we get some help over here, please?
26:14Pretty please.
26:15A couple big strong men, please.
26:17It's a beautiful day up here at Nine Mile.
26:19Just about at the end of week two.
26:22My design team is extremely busy.
26:25Tell Ashley I found a bench.
26:27Do you want a boot rack over there?
26:30Do you want the table over there?
26:31And the archery range.
26:33Can we just decide we're doing it over there?
26:34That's the cleanest alley.
26:36You want me to start getting that platform set?
26:38Yeah, sure.
26:38Okay.
26:39Maybe trim that bush over there a little bit.
26:41You want a machete?
26:42That's all right.
26:46Noah also mentioned that his boys are into archery.
26:49And they would love a safe area where they could shoot their bows and arrows.
26:54And we had a couple of tires that sidewalls were slashed.
26:57They were no good.
26:58Jedi had a great idea of turning that into a target.
27:06Our face is not going to be on this target either, are they?
27:08Never.
27:09So we have these blown out tires.
27:10They're not old.
27:11We've just have been going through tires like crazy on the trip.
27:15So instead of hauling them out of here, Jared and I came up with the idea that we were
27:20going to just fill it with the rigid foam insulation.
27:23Maybe put some plywood or some boards on the back.
27:25And then we can hang the target on the front and we'll have something clean to shoot at.
27:29This trip has eaten tires on both ends, our subs and ourselves.
27:34Basically had a bunch of rigid foam left over.
27:37We cut the back side of the tire out, stuffed it right full of foam.
27:41We were able to utilize what we had on hand and put some wood on the back.
27:45And we were able to make a kind of like an easel type of target out of it.
27:49All my bug stickers came.
27:50The green stickers, they're like a citronella smell which is supposed to help with...
27:54Where's my bug bag?
27:56With the bugs.
27:58How do you must have grabbed this stuff?
28:00What did you get?
28:01We got our delivery up here.
28:02What color is that for?
28:03Oh, this is for my other bug thing.
28:04I ordered this ball thinking that it was going to be blue and then I was going to apply the
28:09goo.
28:09Well, the ball came black.
28:11So I ordered some blue paint, same idea.
28:13You paint the ball, the bugs are attracted to that ball.
28:16Then you put goo on it and you just kind of hang it in a common area.
28:19And all the horse flies will go to that instead of here.
28:23I even have some rope inside.
28:24Give me one minute.
28:25You got this project by yourself in one second.
28:27Yeah, totally.
28:28That's code for she abandoned you.
28:32I'm not painting these, right?
28:33Oh, yeah.
28:34No, stop.
28:35No, you're done, but she left you.
28:38Just like that, she's gone.
28:39Just like that.
28:40You just got Ashley.
28:41Let's take five.
28:42Want to?
28:44Got some stuff going on.
28:46I had to drift it, clean up lunch.
28:49She's really, really good at delegating.
28:51You'd be lucky.
28:52She's going to have you move in those recliners and love seats.
28:54No way.
28:58She's gone.
28:59Trust me, I know.
29:00Oh, look at those.
29:01Are they dry?
29:03No!
29:09One of my eyeballs.
29:11Blew off the table.
29:12Landed in the dirt.
29:13No, no.
29:14It's so sticky.
29:15I think it is camouflage.
29:17The bugs are going to be like,
29:18oh, look at that nice grass and that pretty blue.
29:21And then they're going to go check it out,
29:22and then they're going to go.
29:23I'm almost like ready for Christmas.
29:25Come on.
29:26I got my little Christmas tree.
29:28My wife spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars online
29:30for bug and mosquito repellent.
29:32And I think she's pretty happy that this week happened,
29:35so she can bring out all her tools and her tricks
29:36and her bag of bug stuff.
29:39Probably a $20 sticker that my wife bought 50 of
29:42that supposedly keeps mosquitoes away,
29:43but I don't know if you just roll the footage back two seconds,
29:45see all the bugs are buffing.
29:50So this was already naturally here, Chase?
29:52You just cleaned it up?
29:53Yeah.
29:53Sweet.
29:54That area for the kids is absolutely perfect.
29:56This family is going to be so excited.
29:59This is like the coolest.
30:00Love that it's hidden so that then we can surprise them with it
30:03because they are going to freak out.
30:06It's the middle of winter.
30:07We haven't eaten in months.
30:08You're down to one arrow.
30:10Okay?
30:11Oh.
30:13Breathe in through your nostrils.
30:15Out through your mouth.
30:16Look at that form.
30:17Let's look at the arch of his back.
30:18Oh!
30:18Oh, boy.
30:19Where'd that one go?
30:20I hit the target.
30:21The idea to make the target out of an old tire that he busted
30:25and then with some extra insulation board that they had
30:28lying around and then the extra wood.
30:30It's such a great idea.
30:32That's a really nice target.
30:33Yeah, it was a great idea.
30:34Yeah.
30:34I'm really just happy, overall happy with everything today.
30:37Who's up?
30:41I've got a deal to make with you guys.
30:43I have some really heavy furniture that still needs to be moved in.
30:47I cleared all the vehicles out so that we can pull it out of the woods
30:51and then drive it right to the back door.
30:53Please, if I hit the target, will you guys?
30:55If you hit the target once, we will help you move furniture.
30:57Okay.
31:00Okay.
31:00Ah!
31:02Now go ahead.
31:03Shoot it?
31:03Yep.
31:05You missed.
31:05Oh!
31:07Yes!
31:08That means you guys have to help me!
31:09Ha ha!
31:11Do it one more time.
31:12You can't act your way out of this one.
31:13Nice try.
31:14Do it one more time.
31:15Nice try.
31:16We were kind of watching Ashley, so she was trying to play
31:18with the magic of TV like she hit it.
31:20I think no one would see it.
31:21And she almost got us.
31:23We haven't been doing this for too long.
31:24We know.
31:24I gotta go back to work!
31:26No, no.
31:27Someone on your team has to hit it.
31:28She's not an actor.
31:29You know, everyone asks if this isn't staged.
31:31We're not actors.
31:32I can tell you that.
31:32Pull the trigger.
31:34That one was close.
31:35Yeah!
31:36Well, Heidi, you have a chance.
31:38Heidi's here.
31:39Okay.
31:40Heidi, you got one shot to hit the target.
31:42Just one?
31:43Heidi, hit this target.
31:44We need help.
31:45Ashley, go get your arrows for Heidi.
31:47You have one shot.
31:47I'm not gonna get my arrows until after Heidi shoots one.
31:51She's gonna shoot one.
31:51I mean, that compound ball was not easy.
31:52And Ashley was down to one last shot.
31:54Heidi came in.
31:55I think she might have played us a little bit.
31:58Oh, hold still.
31:59Hold still.
32:01Hold still.
32:04Whoa!
32:05Yes, Heidi, yes!
32:06Yes!
32:07Yes, Heidi, yes!
32:08Yes!
32:09Let's see over at the chairs.
32:11See over at the chairs.
32:11See over at the chairs.
32:12See over at the chairs.
32:13Dixie, you're so good at helping them.
32:17We'll see you over there.
32:18She hit that like a pro.
32:20I was not expecting that.
32:22And most of the things are in place.
32:25It's just gonna be, like, kinda putting in the finishing touches
32:28and moving out the stuff.
32:30Well, it looks like, uh...
32:32Oh, working hard.
32:33Yeah, it looks like you guys are done in here, huh?
32:35Oh, yeah.
32:36We've been outside holding down the tent.
32:38We are in pretty good shape.
32:39We have a plan.
32:40We have everything in.
32:41Everything's in place.
32:42We just have to, kind of, put things in more places.
32:45Well, there's only one thing to say, Chase.
32:49Good job, guys.
32:50Good job.
32:51Good job, guys.
32:52Good job.
32:52Good job.
32:53It's been great working with you.
32:54I ain't gonna need it.
32:55I'm gonna need a little break.
32:57Wow!
32:59Completely.
33:00That's just like I was saying.
33:01I'm gonna need a break from them.
33:02Traitor, you traitor!
33:03I'm gonna need a week vacation from them.
33:05Whoo!
33:12Ashley!
33:13There you are.
33:14It's been a really fun two weeks.
33:16We all just came together as a team, as a crew.
33:18It's very rare that we get to do builds like this.
33:21But now we're ready to give the camp back to Noah and his family.
33:24I hear him.
33:25Is that a moose?
33:26Hear the moose?
33:30Does that sound like a moose?
33:32We need Ryan here.
33:35All right, let's go meet him.
33:37That's never gonna call him in.
33:39This is very exciting.
33:42Oh, my gosh!
33:44Let's go!
33:50Let's go!

37:49It's a very dramatic transformation.
37:50Structurally, it's still camp, which we love.
37:53You can still feel the vibe and sense the building.
37:56Let's watch Max shoot.
37:57Here he goes.
37:58Can he hit the target?
38:00Wow.

38:04Just seeing this culminate into what it is right now
38:08is a tremendously emotional experience.
38:10And, you know, we're beyond grateful.
38:12The old canoe rack was kind of unsightly in the way.
38:16Yeah.
38:16I know you'd ask for an easier way to store canoes, so.
38:19Oh, this is perfect.
38:21Perfect.
38:21Perfect.
38:22All right.
38:23Let's continue on.
38:24Is it a his and a hers or just a two-hole?
38:26It can be whatever you want it to be.

38:59Ta-da!
39:00Hey!
39:01Yay!
39:03Touch with the red hats.
39:05For the cabin masters to still have a touch of the old camp
39:09and bringing in the new, it's just amazing.
39:13We had two weeks and $40,000.
39:16We had a lot of fun up here.

39:25Of course.
39:26You're very, very, very welcome.
39:28Now it's time to go get the rest of the family and show them.
39:30Oh, they will love it.
39:32I'd like to say thank you to the main cabin masters.
39:35The tradition goes on.
39:36These are the times for us to remember.
39:38These are our memories.
39:39The thought that went into it.
39:41The personal touches that went into it were just amazing.
39:45So grateful.
39:46Just so grateful.
39:47It's just perfect.
