01:04It was one of the first things that you told me.
01:06Yeah, I love Heath Ledger plays Ennis.
01:09I still think it's his best work.
01:11I think that was one of the first pivotal ones
01:13when you have two leading men take on, you know, gay cowboys.
01:18It's pretty bold.
01:19But then, you know, you have Call Me By Your Name,
01:22Moonlight, I think with Barry Jenkins saying
01:24bringing the art house to the hood is what he said.
01:27That was already just a beautiful juxtaposition.
01:31And then having, you know, he said he wanted to redefine masculinity
01:34with that movie, which I thought was so cool.
01:36Yeah, Call Me By Your Name I think was like pretty revolutionary.
01:40Yeah.
01:40Yeah, I was in high school at that time
01:41and I remember that being the first thing
01:45that felt like it was really a part of the cultural zeitgeist.
01:49and it also handled, like, it also handled queer stories
01:52in a really cool way where it was so under the surface
01:56and it made it so human, you know,
01:59which I think also was kind of like a Moonlight scenario
02:02where we're taking these people in such a specific time and place
02:05and, like, letting them explore love.
02:09Right.
02:09What does SMUT mean to you?
02:14I'm going to try to make an acronym.
02:16SEXY.
02:17This is going to be in relation to, um,
02:20into, uh, Ember and Ice.
02:23Um, SEXY.
02:24MAGIC.
02:25Um,
02:28UNIVERSE.
02:31T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T
02:37-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T
02:39-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T
02:40-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T
02:40-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T
02:41-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T
02:51Oh, you very publicly shot your shot for Nightwing, which was extremely fun to watch.
02:58Have you been a DC fan?
02:59And what is it like to see fans instantly rally behind you,
03:02especially the ones that say you have the face, the talent, and the butt?
03:05I will be completely honest.
03:08When I saw some fan art of you as Nightwing, I was blown away.
03:13Whoa.
03:14Like, I mean, you never know if that's going to come to fruition or not.
03:18But when I see, like, someone did you in the comic book style, I was like, I see it right
03:23away.
03:24Wow.
03:24Yeah, I would love to play him.
03:26I love DC.
03:28I loved all, like, comic books that were true to the source material.
03:37And I think, you know, there are a lot of good filmmakers who, like, bring their own style to these,
03:43you know, beloved comics
03:47that I think it would be really great to work with them.
03:49You know, I'm not fully set on Nightwing.
03:52You know, I'm open to other things.
03:54Did you always want to be in, like, did, is superheroes?
03:59No.
03:59Is that always something that's been, like, I need to do that?
04:01Absolutely not.
04:02It's just kind of come on.
04:03It's when really good filmmaker, it's filmmaker driven.
04:06And so when, like, a guy like James Gunn or Matt Reeves, you know, comes to comics, I think that's
04:12what draws me.
04:15And I heard James Gunn is doing the Teen Titans.
04:18I know there's, yeah, but, yeah.
04:21James Gunn, he's in love with you.
04:23True or false.
04:24Hudson is more like Ilya in real life and Connor is more like Shane.
04:28I think me and you are both like Rose.
04:31And I'm like Svetlana.
04:33I just said me and you are both like Rose.
04:36But I'm just parting ways.
04:38That's so Svetlana for you to say.
04:41I don't know.
04:42I mean, maybe I do feel like Ilya.
04:45I don't know.
04:46I think that I'm too sensitive or outwardly sensitive or don't have a lot of shame around emotion to be
04:53Ilya.
04:54I could be a little cocky like Ilya.
04:56Yeah.
04:56But beyond that, it's like I think Shane and Ilya sort of share us, you know, a soulfulness that's kind
05:04of buried under all these, you know, walls and kind of masks.
05:09But I think underneath that, what we both relate with both of them is, you know, the heart and their
05:16soul.
05:17After wrapping Heated Rivalry, you two got matching tattoos that say sex sales.
05:22And if true, how did that happen?
05:24Did I have a reason for coming up to Vancouver?
05:27I just wanted to come see you.
05:29Yeah, come hang out.
05:29Am I not good enough?
05:31Come on.
05:31Yeah, I just, I don't know why for a second I was like, I have something to do up there.
05:35I have nothing to do in Vancouver.
05:37I was there.
05:38So, yeah, I just went up to see, I just came up to see you.
05:43We knew we wanted to get matching tattoos.
05:44I hadn't gotten a tattoo in forever.
05:47And we were just shuffling through ideas and, yeah.
05:50I think you came up with sex sales.
05:52But, like, we were both pitching ideas.
05:54For, like, days.
05:55One person would like them, the other person wouldn't.
05:57And then when you said sex sales, I was like, oh.
05:59We were sold.
06:00That's the first idea you've had.
06:01That's good.
06:01I think it's honestly my most well-done tattoo as well.
06:04So, that feels good.
06:06The front of my shin.
06:07Pull in here.
06:08Zoom in.
06:10True or false.
06:12You ate a pound of beef, of ground beef, a day while filming.
06:15Heated Rivalry.
06:17True.
06:18Connor told me what his routine was.
06:20And after I saw him in person, I asked him how he got to that size.
06:25I thought he was taking illicit substances.
06:27He wasn't.
06:28He does it super clean.
06:29Sorry I mentioned illicit substances.
06:32I have nothing to hide.
06:34Bring it on.
06:35But he was so.
06:39So, I was like, what are you eating, freak?
06:43I was like, I'm eating.
06:46And he just couldn't speak and he just kept doing that.
06:48I was like, I think that means ground beef.
06:51You're like, that level of capability is what I need.
06:54And then Connor was actually the person who put me onto fiber.
06:57Because if you need to eat the protein you want to get, you know,
07:00iliac cheeks and chests, you need so much fiber just so your stomach
07:06doesn't shut down and you go into cardiac arrest and you get carried out
07:10from your little workout on a stretcher with some, you know,
07:14pumped up pecs and a shut down fucking digestive system.
07:18It's really unfortunate if it ends that way.
07:20Yeah, I actually, I'm going to one-up this true or false.
07:24I actually think that we ate more than a pound of beef.
07:27Yeah.
07:27Because a pound of beef only has, I think, 84 grams of protein.
07:31And you need a solid 200 for our size and shape.
07:35So, sometimes I can eat two pounds of ground beef a day.
07:38Plus like 10 eggs.
07:40Yeah.
07:40And so many salads.
07:41I was having so much salad.
07:42Because by the end, I got like, gained 10 pounds.
07:45So like when I started shooting, I was like,
07:47and by the end, I was like 10 pounds heavier.
07:49And it's because of ground beef.
07:50Yeah, you, I mean, you're very inspiring.
07:52I'm glad that we had each other because it would have been really hard
07:55to be motivated if, you know, we were going back to our-
07:5912-hour days and then the gym.
08:00And then like going back to a residence, like, below.
08:02It's really, it's nice that I got to be like,
08:05All right, son, let's go to gym.
08:07And we would go from a fucking 11-hour day skating lesson
08:11and Connor would go, let's do legs.
08:12And I looked at him, he's a madman.
08:15That's how he has a butt.
08:16He'll finish a skating lesson that takes four hours
08:19and then go, legs now?
08:21And I was like, what are you saying?
08:24I knew I had a responsibility to the people.
08:28He's America's ass.
08:30And I take that very seriously.
08:33Romance readers are famously passionate about book adaptations.
08:37Did you feel any pressure bringing a beloved story to life?
08:39And how did you approach making the characters your own?
08:42It's good, I think, to go into a project accepting that, you know,
08:47people might be disappointed, especially with something like a book
08:50where everyone already has preconceived notions.
08:52They've envisioned these characters.
08:54They've drawn these characters.
08:56They've gotten tattoos of these characters.
08:58Like, the love is already there so much
09:00that ultimately someone is going to be disappointed.
09:03All you can do is read the material as much as you possibly can.
09:11And respect it.
09:13Show the respect.
09:14Show the dedication.
09:15And just hope that people, you know, connect with it and love it
09:18and see that enthusiasm.
09:20I think we both had that level of,
09:22whether you want to call it nihilism or not,
09:23like, people might just hate this.
09:26People might hate your casting or they might hate my casting.
09:28I'm not going to expect anything more.
09:31And I'm just going to do the best I can.
09:33But you have really no metric of
09:36if people are going to be warm to your take.
09:39I really think at the end of the day,
09:40all you can do is be really intentional.
09:43Give it 150%.
09:45Just go for it.
09:47And luckily for us,
09:49this worked out really freaking well.
09:55Hudson, we have heard rumors about a very serious
09:58multi-step Korean skincare routine.
10:00Can you break it down for us?
10:01It's not that lengthy.
10:02Yeah, I always made fun of you for it too
10:04because I, like, honestly, I'm just kind of jealous
10:07because you have really good skin.
10:09But I was like, yeah, your skin routine.
10:11And then it's actually not that long.
10:13It's not that long.
10:14It's okay.
10:14Okay, I'm going to tell you.
10:16In the morning, I use water to cleanse my face.
10:19Warm water.
10:20And then I put on a glow toner.
10:23But it's pretty dry.
10:25It's not like, I don't like when people have, like, dewy skin.
10:27Like, if I see someone that looks like they just wore a face mask,
10:29I'm like, why are you out right now?
10:31Like, go wipe that off and then come talk to me
10:33because I won't right now.
10:35And then, so my toner.
10:36And then I'll put on a serum and then sunscreen.
10:41And then sometimes instead of a serum, I put on,
10:43a moisturizer.
10:45And then my PM routine is an oil cleanser, you know,
10:48to get out these blackheads, to get the gunk out.
10:52And then I'll either use, like, a CeraVe normal-ass cleanser
10:56or I'll use, like, a pore shrinking cleanser.
10:59That's their new slogan.
11:01CeraVe normal-ass cleanser.
11:05I think that is.
11:06Yeah, I also like CeraVe.
11:08And then, like, a pore shrink or a pore shrinking cleanser,
11:10if that's my goal.
11:11And then the same thing.
11:12Toner, serum, and then either a retinol or a salicylic acid.
11:16And then I go to fucking sleep.
11:19So I think everyone in the studio agrees that was a lot.
11:23Well, I will also say, I mean, it makes sense.
11:25You have flawless skin.
11:28And then when I take it off, it just falls apart.
11:31Yeah.
11:31He unhooks the clip back here.
11:34A clip in the back.
11:35Keeps it all up.
11:36Connor.
11:37Yes.
11:38Story.
11:39Yes.
11:39Do you have a favorite spicy scene from Heated Rivalry
11:41and a favorite from Ember and Ice?
11:43What makes those stand out for you?
11:44My favorite spicy scene from Ember and Ice
11:47is actually a scene where Dane is with two former lovers,
11:52Cassandra and Elijah.
11:54Yep.
11:58I need you to be here with me, okay?
12:02Dane has an interaction with two of his former lovers
12:07after having been with Finn for some time.
12:11And yeah, not to spoil, but he ends up realizing
12:15that what really works for him isn't working for him anymore.
12:20And it's kind of this moment of identity loss
12:23and, you know, what pleases me isn't pleasing me the same.
12:27I think that's really cool.
12:28Because it's also, it's, because it's cool,
12:29because it's like sexy and spicy,
12:31but it also is really revealing of the character
12:34and the connection and where he's at, you know?
12:36And I think it's funny.
12:38I think I remember Dane saying something about,
12:41he's like, he's like,
12:42and then the next thing I did was
12:44I just had to come up with an excuse.
12:46And then he's like, he's like,
12:47my friends, I have bad news.
12:50I have a lot from Ember and Ice,
12:52but one is the lake scene
12:54where we kind of go in together
12:56and you kind of coax it out of me
12:58without spoiling too much.
13:00I think that one's just, you know,
13:02a lot of times, like the intimacy before intimacy,
13:04I think it has more of a charge in a way.
13:07That one really got me frothing at the mouth.
13:11And Heated Rivalry, favorite intimate scene.
13:15There was one that was really fun to film.
13:17Do you remember filming the stair-step scene?
13:19When we're like kissing against the glass
13:21and our lips never come apart.
13:23Me and you were like, do people do this?
13:25Do people like...
13:26I know, it's always a fun balance, right?
13:28Of like, when you're filming,
13:30separate from like the audio space,
13:32when you're filming,
13:34it's like how much of it is fun
13:36on TV
13:38and then how much of it is like true sex.
13:41Because at the end of the day,
13:42you know, you do have, in real life,
13:44people do have those movie moments
13:46where you're like, yeah.
13:47You know, and you're like, yeah.
13:49And then everyone on set was like,
13:50oh yeah, no, I've done that.
13:52And then Connor and I were like,
13:53oh, we usually fold our clothes,
13:56place them down,
13:57then go upstairs naked
13:58and go, sex now?
14:01Sex now?
14:02I'm robot.
14:03Plug me in.
14:05True or false?
14:06Hudson's roommates
14:08once kept a mooning tally
14:09of how many times he flashed them.
14:11Do you know?
14:13How many times?
14:14I know that you,
14:15I've, yeah, I remember this.
14:16Yeah.
14:16It's true.
14:17It was one roommate.
14:18Um, and I, I mooned him 31 times.
14:23What was his reaction when you mooned him?
14:25Was he like, Hudson?
14:28Her poor name was Chelsea.
14:30I, I, I've talked with her
14:31and Chelsea has been like,
14:32you can say my name.
14:33And I was like,
14:34so I've since talked about this since.
14:36Double consent.
14:36Uh, double consent.
14:38Um, and, uh, poor Chelsea would just go,
14:40I think her main reaction was like,
14:42oh, Hudson, oh.
14:47And it made me so happy.
14:50Where, where is Chelsea now?
14:52And I, I, I developed different techniques
14:54over the years.
14:55Um, she's chilling.
14:57She's got a cat that's like hanging off her walls.
14:59Um, but I would go and I'd do like a drive-by
15:01at all these different techniques.
15:03And then she would bring like other,
15:05you know, um, romantic interests home.
15:07And then they're like,
15:08what's this tally up on the board?
15:10And they're like,
15:10oh, that's how many times Hudson,
15:12my roommate has mooned me.
15:14And they were like,
15:15would you just like kind of butt crack it
15:17or would you full change?
15:18So I had one where I would get pants low,
15:21like I would de-pants
15:22and she would be unassuming,
15:24like maybe on her phone on the couch
15:25and I would run by and jump in the air.
15:28So I was like a, like, like a,
15:31like a literal moon,
15:32a literal moon, but in fast motion.
15:34Sometimes I would just do the like,
15:36oh, drop something before we leave.
15:37Bend and I'm right there.
15:39Gotcha.
15:40Oh God.
15:43Yes.
15:44No, they, they got very athletic.
15:45But we need to clarify,
15:46if you were going to moon someone,
15:48make it a close friend.
15:49Chelsea is still my close friend.
15:51Make it known that this is okay.
15:53Yep.
15:53She got a who out of it.
15:55Do not moon people you don't know
15:57in places it's not okay.
16:00Hudson, as an Asian actor leading
16:02such a hugely popular queer romance,
16:04what kind of stories or roles
16:05are you excited for more people
16:07to see you in going forward?
16:08Hmm.
16:10Yeah, I,
16:12I want to,
16:12I want to represent my,
16:14my Wajins out there.
16:15You know,
16:17I've been declared,
16:19do you know about this?
16:20Mm-mm.
16:21I've been declared the,
16:22I think princess or prince of Wajia.
16:25Me.
16:26I mean,
16:27I,
16:27I sign off on it.
16:28Okay.
16:28I think you,
16:29he's the final stamp off guy for this.
16:32So,
16:32yeah,
16:33I'm the,
16:33I'm the ambassador of Wajia
16:35as a fully,
16:36as a completely Caucasian.
16:38Yes.
16:39But as,
16:40as this little Wajian I am,
16:44I hope to just do roles
16:47that aren't always charged with,
16:50you know,
16:50I'm happy to do roles that are,
16:52you know,
16:52race has something to,
16:54to play in there.
16:55But also I just want to be an actor.
16:56And a lot of the times
16:57I just want to play parts
16:59where it's like,
17:00I'm,
17:00I'm just there
17:01and we don't need to go
17:02in my backstory or whatever.
17:04It's just,
17:05you know,
17:05I'm playing with any other,
17:09non-person of color
17:10would play as well.
17:12You know,
17:12you're a person,
17:13you want to be treated?
17:14I'm a person.
17:14Love it, baby.
17:16On both Heated Rivalry
17:17and Ember and Ice,
17:19you worked with an intimacy coordinator.
17:21Why do you think that role matters
17:22on projects like this?
17:23Was there anything about the process
17:24that you think would surprise people?
17:27Wow.
17:27I mean,
17:28I think it's so,
17:30yeah,
17:30that's a,
17:31yeah,
17:31that question is,
17:32I mean,
17:33it's so important.
17:34I mean,
17:35you literally can't do things
17:38without that role.
17:41The thing that I think
17:42would shock people
17:42about the role
17:43of intimacy coordinating
17:44is it's not just about,
17:47and this is what I learned
17:48from Chayla originally
17:49and then also Jamie doing this,
17:51it's not just about
17:52the actual safety,
17:54the boundaries,
17:55monitoring,
17:56what's going on,
17:57what that looks like,
17:58making sure everyone's okay.
17:59There's also actually
18:01a conjunction
18:02of an artistic edge
18:03where you are,
18:06like Jamie with this,
18:07you know,
18:07was also the voice
18:09that was reminding us,
18:10this is how long it's been
18:11since this happened,
18:12you know,
18:13you need to,
18:14I need to hear that shiver
18:15or that I need to hear those,
18:18I need to hear that feeling
18:20through your wings,
18:21I need to see that come about,
18:23I need to feel that pleasure
18:24in this way.
18:25So it's not always technical,
18:26even though that's what I feel
18:27like is brought up a lot,
18:29there is also an artistic
18:30sensibility to that job
18:31and that really promotes
18:33that conversation.
18:34Absolutely.
18:35Bring in the first ginger ale.
18:38This is so fun.
18:40We have Canada Dry,
18:41we have Schweppes,
18:42we have,
18:44can someone give me
18:44a rundown of the brands?
18:46Nope, you're going to try it
18:47and we're going to go.
18:48I've only named two from memory.
18:50Well, how about this,
18:50I'll hold it so we don't,
18:51we don't give away anything.
18:53Yeah, we don't have flavor
18:53so you can describe the flavor
18:55and the texture for it.
18:58Yep, that's my Hudson.
19:00That's my Hudson.
19:03That's not Canada Dry,
19:05this is some shitty
19:05American ginger ale.
19:06This is like Schweppes
19:09or like,
19:11yeah, that's my guess.
19:13You said it's not Canada Dry,
19:15why is it not Canada Dry?
19:16Canada Dry's got more ginger in it
19:18and more bubble in it.
19:20It's just subtle ginger.
19:22Yeah.
19:22Go ahead and,
19:23should it be de-blindful?
19:24Go ahead.
19:27You got,
19:29we got you.
19:31Where is this imported from?
19:33This, this is,
19:35this is, no.
19:36No way.
19:37It says,
19:37it says from Frisco, Texas.
19:40Nope.
19:40Frisco, Texas, baby.
19:41I don't, I don't,
19:42this is,
19:43it changed,
19:44it changed.
19:45Bring in ginger ale number two.
19:47That is so embarrassing.
19:50Thank you so much.
19:52This one was,
19:53that one was Canada Dry.
19:55What is this one?
19:58Nom, nom, nom.
19:59Nom, nom, nom.
20:01You're my baby.
20:03Drink more.
20:05This is cough syrup.
20:07This is,
20:09this is yellow snow.
20:11What is this?
20:13A pissy pineapple.
20:15But,
20:15it's the brand,
20:16Hudson.
20:18I have to guess the brand?
20:20Come on.
20:21Yeah.
20:21This is Schweppes.
20:23This one is Schweppes.
20:25This one's a good idea to try.
20:30I am so happy that I'm not the one tasting these,
20:33because if I was getting them wrong,
20:34I'd feel like an idiot.
20:36No, I'm kidding.
20:37I'm kidding.
20:40It's stupid.
20:41No, you're not.
20:42I mean,
20:43they,
20:43they really set you up.
20:44Give me another one.
20:45Do you have more?
20:47Bring me,
20:47bring in,
20:48how many more?
20:49Bring in the last one.
20:51Bring it to me.
20:53Ooh,
20:54this one's a hard one.
20:56Thank you.
20:59Oh,
21:00no.
21:04Uh-huh.
21:06That's them.
21:09that's,
21:11that's fever tree,
21:12ginger,
21:13um,
21:14um,
21:15beer.
21:17Hudson?
21:18Oh,
21:19what?
21:19What?
21:20There's a,
21:21there's a secondary flavor.
21:26Do you want a smell test,
21:27too?
21:28You want to do like a,
21:28No,
21:29it's just ginger.
21:29No,
21:30but do like an aromatics test.
21:34Go,
21:35full Somme vibes.
21:37Do you smell that?
21:39Oh,
21:39it's hard to,
21:40it's hard to smell.
21:41It's fucking ginger pear.
21:43Fucking,
21:44it's ginger.
21:44Yeah,
21:45I'm going to be honest,
21:46he would never be able to understand,
21:47you can't taste that flavor at all.
21:50Woo!
21:51What?
21:52Blood orange?
21:53Good job.
21:53You can't taste that at all.
21:54You put food coloring in.
21:56You didn't put no blood orange in there.
21:57I will say,
21:58I kind of like this one though.
22:00That one's nice.
22:01I like all of them.
22:02But I guess the brand,
22:03did I not?
22:04You killed it.
22:05When did you first realize you clicked?
22:07And what are some of your favorite memories
22:09from working together?
22:11Hmm,
22:12I would say our first FaceTime
22:14outside of a chemistry read,
22:15because at that point,
22:16I was always Shane,
22:17he was always Ilya.
22:18But then when we first met over FaceTime
22:21before we went to Toronto,
22:23um,
22:24we had so many,
22:26like,
22:26so much overlap of movies we liked,
22:29actors we liked,
22:30art we liked,
22:31and similar approaches
22:32to how we,
22:33you know,
22:34like to perform,
22:35um,
22:36that I immediately knew.
22:37I think we clicked there.
22:38And I think that's saying a lot,
22:39because I think some of our,
22:40our interests can be pretty niche.
22:43The fact that there is overlap
22:44is amazing.
22:45Yeah.
22:46and favorite memories,
22:48I would say,
22:49all our laughs on set,
22:51being in Muskoka,
22:53um,
22:53was really beautiful.
22:54There was a lot of,
22:55like,
22:55lounging around.
22:57Um,
22:58you know,
22:59it was just great.
23:00My favorite memories of working with you
23:01are also the laughs.
23:03What's,
23:03what's like an inside joke
23:04that we just,
23:06died over the whole time?
23:09we had a storm the set.
23:11That was also with,
23:11oh yeah,
23:12I would always be like,
23:13storm the set!
23:15But if we couldn't afford extras,
23:16our idea was we would just,
23:18like,
23:18do,
23:19like,
23:19a cattle call.
23:20We used to joke that,
23:21like,
23:22we,
23:22um,
23:22because we would have,
23:23like,
23:23airport scenes and stuff,
23:24where there would be,
23:25like,
23:26you know,
23:26for an airport,
23:27you need,
23:27like,
23:27you need a bunch of people,
23:28and we'd have,
23:29like,
23:29five people.
23:30and I just imagined,
23:31um,
23:32I imagined Jacob being,
23:34like,
23:34being like,
23:35costume,
23:36get up there!
23:36And everyone's,
23:37like,
23:37taking off their mics,
23:38and he's like,
23:38storm the set!
23:41Opening the garage,
23:42and just,
23:42like,
23:42opening it up to the public.
23:44How does it feel to accidentally
23:46launch a workout movement?
23:49I can't,
23:50I honestly still cannot believe that
23:52that was someone's takeaway from this,
23:55you know?
23:55I,
23:56like,
23:56I think I look a little too shabby.
23:58I'm,
23:58I'm in the process of gaming.
24:00way right now.
24:01Yeah,
24:01I was,
24:01when you look,
24:02you look freaking fantastic.
24:04Well,
24:04bring it back to my Spanish.
24:05Muchas gracias.
24:06De nada,
24:07corazón de melón.
24:08Ah,
24:08mi hermoso.
24:10Mi esposo,
24:11mi amor.
24:11Todo mi corazón.
24:13Um,
24:14yeah,
24:15I,
24:15people,
24:16people like our bodies.
24:17Let's just be honest about it.
24:19People,
24:20you know,
24:20I care about my health,
24:21I care about my fitness,
24:22as do you.
24:23Um,
24:25honestly,
24:25watching the show is making us
24:27work out even more.
24:28Yeah.
24:29So,
24:29what drew you to doing
24:30a Faye Romanticist story,
24:32and what was it about the script
24:33that hooked you?
24:34For me,
24:34it was exploring sensuality
24:37with,
24:37with your voice.
24:38You know,
24:39that's the only tool you have,
24:41and it kind of scared me
24:43a little bit,
24:43and,
24:44you know,
24:44there,
24:45there,
24:45it was a really fun way
24:47to explore yourself.
24:48It was fun.
24:48It was actually fun.
24:49And,
24:50you know,
24:50it's very demanding,
24:51and it's,
24:51it's well written.
24:52I think in the booth,
24:54the term winged Hemingway
24:58came up,
24:59you know,
25:00fantastical Hemingway,
25:02because there was like war,
25:03there's like this romance
25:05that's forbidden,
25:06and it seems doomed
25:08in a lot of ways.
25:10And that was
25:12way heavier
25:13than I thought,
25:14you know,
25:14this would look like.
25:15And it was really rewarding.
25:18The story just moves
25:19really well,
25:20too.
25:20It was just written
25:21really well.
25:23As someone who,
25:25you know,
25:26is not a big reader,
25:27I think something like this
25:28would be really appealing
25:29to me.
25:29and just the way
25:31it cycles through
25:32the feelings,
25:33it cycles through
25:34the years.
25:35Different point of views.
25:36Yeah,
25:36I just think it's really
25:37like almost physically
25:38well done.
25:39Why do you think
25:40MM romance resonates
25:41so strongly with women
25:42right now?
25:44Hmm.
25:46Yeah,
25:46we've both talked about this
25:48and kind of been
25:48intrigued by it.
25:50There's so many reasons.
25:51There's so many reasons.
25:52And then even just women,
25:53you know,
25:54there are straight women,
25:56there are trans women,
25:57there are gay women,
25:59and like queer women,
26:00it's,
26:01well,
26:01that feels like a giant term
26:03to be like,
26:04I know exactly.
26:06Why?
26:07You know,
26:07there's like the element
26:08of you can live vicariously
26:09and you can feel safe.
26:11Like with women,
26:12this is just one opinion
26:14that I had never even
26:15considered or thought of
26:17that I saw that
26:18I think you're alluding to,
26:19which is if you are female
26:22and you are,
26:25you are taken
26:26out of the equation,
26:29and there's a spectatorship
26:31to that,
26:31there's like a certain amount
26:34of separation
26:34that allows for safety,
26:37you know,
26:37like especially women
26:39historically being put
26:40into a box
26:41in a certain way,
26:41especially when it comes
26:42to sex and pleasure.
26:44It feels like a nice
26:45separation to see
26:46sexuality and romance
26:48be lived out
26:49without
26:50the female dynamic being.
26:52Yeah,
26:53I heard someone online say,
26:54a woman say that like,
26:56when you see like a hetero
26:59couple,
27:00you know,
27:00you default to like
27:01relating with
27:02or forced to sort of relate
27:04with the woman character.
27:05And then that comes
27:06with a lot of restriction
27:07and too,
27:07and like imagination.
27:08A lot of writers,
27:10you know,
27:10are writing very conventionally,
27:12which means a lot
27:13of outdated tropes,
27:15old archetypes.
27:16and I think,
27:18you know,
27:18with getting to watch
27:19two men,
27:20it's like they can kind
27:20of relate with this person.
27:21In one moment,
27:22they're empathetic
27:22to this person.
27:23They're not forced
27:24into a box of here.
27:25This is your person
27:26to relate with.
27:27At the end of the day,
27:28though,
27:29we're both men.
27:30I have no idea
27:31what it's like
27:31to be a woman.
27:33Yeah.
27:34And so,
27:34y'all let us know.
27:35Yeah.
27:36Y'all tell us.
27:37I think me,
27:39because I would just be,
27:41I'd be drinking.
27:42I'd be somewhere,
27:44I'd be like under a table.
27:45Yeah.
27:46asleep,
27:47naked,
27:48covered in piss.
27:49You're really freaking athletic
27:51and you're really strong
27:52and you know how to fight.
27:54So if it came down
27:55to like a wrestling match
27:56between you
27:57and freaking
27:57Freddy Krueger,
27:59I think you're taking
28:00the cake,
28:01my boy.
28:02I'm winning.
28:03Woo!
28:04Okay.
28:05Snack time.
28:07Me,
28:09100%.
28:09Yeah.
28:10You have a little,
28:11you have a tiny bit
28:12more reverence
28:13than I do.
28:14If something is
28:15overly serious,
28:16I cannot help
28:17but laugh.
28:19Because I just
28:19become really like,
28:20oh,
28:20I become really aware
28:21of how.
28:22Do the kind of,
28:25it's not that pitch.
28:26You left
28:27and now,
28:27now I'm going to leave.
28:29Bye.
28:29Connor will do the,
28:31like,
28:31the like,
28:32it's like so serious
28:33and then she kind of gets
28:33a little tip
28:34and then he goes,
28:34and I can't do his laugh.
28:36Do I do that?
28:36Do I do,
28:37and then he goes,
28:38do I do a Polly pocket hand?
28:42That's Connor.
28:43I accept myself.
28:44This is what,
28:44we're rocking this.
28:45We're rocking it.
28:46I accept myself.
28:48Me.
28:49Oh, yeah.
28:50I'm dirty.
28:51You're like,
28:51you're pretty clean.
28:52I'd eat anything
28:53off the ground.
28:54No.
28:58Not me.
28:59I don't mind more than I am.
29:00Yeah,
29:00well,
29:00I just love YouTube.
29:01I love the little,
29:02like,
29:04video essay on this movie,
29:06essay on this little actor.
29:07Have you learned this
29:08about Genghis Khan?
29:10And I'm like,
29:10wow,
29:11there's so much to know.
29:12Nerd.
29:13Are these book talk
29:13trivia things?
29:15H-E-A.
29:16Heaven eats ass.
29:18I don't know.
29:19Yeah,
29:19heaven eats ass?
29:20Is that it?
29:21Really?
29:21What is it?
29:23Happily Ever After.
29:24Fuck.
29:25Yeah,
29:26okay.
29:28Okay,
29:29this one's
29:29part of the rake
29:30and the cake.
29:31The what?
29:32The rake
29:33and the cake.
29:34Well,
29:35you break up
29:36some people together
29:37and then you ass.
29:39Yeah,
29:40are these all
29:40going to be
29:40ass related?
29:43They are for me.
29:47Oh,
29:48right,
29:49right.
29:49Oh,
29:50I see.
29:50Oh,
29:51I like that.
29:52I like those.
29:52I like those ones.
29:53Yeah,
29:53I like the grump.
29:55Why tunes?
29:56Why?
29:57Is this a love triangle thing?
29:58Mmm.
29:59Ooh.
30:00Threesome.
30:01It scares me a little.
30:02Foot in both jars
30:03of peanut butter,
30:03if you know what I mean.
30:05Don't make me nervous
30:06on Twitter.
30:06We're going to react
30:07to some tweets.
30:08You don't scare me.
30:09Connor's story.
30:10You need to stop.
30:11Your face too smiley.
30:12Your ass too fat.
30:14Juicy.
30:14Your line delivery
30:15too good.
30:16They'll kill you.
30:16You really,
30:17I mean,
30:18you ended on a...
30:18Wine delivery too good.
30:19Yeah,
30:20I'm cool with that.
30:21I feel good.
30:24Whenever we read tweets,
30:25I don't know
30:26if I'm supposed to like
30:26thank you
30:28or if I'm supposed
30:29to like genuinely
30:30be like,
30:31whoa.
30:32I guess all of it,
30:33kind of.
30:34Hudson Williams'
30:35back dimples.
30:37That's it.
30:38That's the tweet.
30:39Oh.
30:40I didn't realize
30:41I had
30:41these little
30:42back dimples
30:43but then I
30:43I saw the receipts
30:45and I saw my
30:46dimpled
30:47cheek
30:48back
30:49thing
30:49and uh
30:50We were all
30:51seeing it.
30:51Yeah.
30:52I was,
30:52I was seeing it.
30:53Damn.
30:54For real.
30:55I love whatever
30:55is wrong with y'all.
30:59My Cynthia
31:00and Ariana.
31:04Fine.
31:05I'm invested
31:05in heated rivalry.
31:06Not because of
31:07their giant
31:08bouncy
31:08but because
31:10it's a true
31:12yearner.
31:12I'm a sucker
31:13for a good romance.
31:14The yearning
31:14is,
31:15is the thing.
31:16I think that's,
31:17that's probably
31:17the sexiest part
31:18for people,
31:19honestly.
31:19You want to know
31:19how we got
31:20these bodies?
31:20If you yearn enough,
31:22your ass gets fat.
31:23Despite all the memes,
31:25I have enjoyed
31:26people seeing
31:26that physical intimacy
31:28isn't just spice
31:29on top of the romance
31:30but a vehicle
31:31to explore
31:31relationship dynamics
31:32and character
31:33and also
31:34physical and emotional
31:35intimacy are different
31:37but connected things.
31:38Jacob talks about this
31:39and that was one
31:39of the first things
31:41I think he brought
31:42to us
31:44to try and
31:45explain his vision
31:46which was,
31:47you know,
31:47when you read the scripts,
31:48when you read the pages,
31:49it can sound very
31:50sex heavy
31:51but to know
31:51that the sex
31:53really is
31:54just the foundation
31:55of their relationship
31:56and how they connect.
31:58Yeah,
31:58I think that is,
31:59I think that,
32:00I think that's kind of,
32:01you know.
32:02For the first years
32:03of their life,
32:03that's how they communicate.
32:05That's where
32:05their relationship
32:06builds and,
32:06you know.
32:07That's not usually
32:08how sex is used
32:09in media.
32:11Yep.
32:11Meteor.
32:12I need Hudson Williams
32:14to know that
32:14so many people
32:15imagine,
32:15draw,
32:16write,
32:16and read
32:16about him
32:17getting pregnant,
32:19including me.
32:21Is that crazy?
32:22Oh,
32:22he knows
32:22and even comments on it.
32:23Yeah,
32:24Mara,
32:24Key to Rivalry Updates
32:25pointed this out to me.
32:26I know,
32:27when I learned that
32:27about the fan fiction,
32:28I was like,
32:29whatever floats your boat,
32:30you know.
32:32Yeah,
32:33I mean,
32:33I think that's like,
32:34I think that's in the
32:35deep fanfic side.
32:36Yeah,
32:37I don't understand it,
32:39but I'm like,
32:40you know what,
32:41you freaks,
32:41you gung-ho,
32:42you go get it.
32:43You know,
32:44if you can go get
32:44fictional me pregnant.
32:46Fictional me.
32:48Knock him up.
32:50This is another one
32:51about my butt.
32:52Again,
32:53y'all aren't ready
32:54for this one.

32:55deserves A-O-T-Y.
32:57What's A-O-T-Y mean?
33:00Connor's story

33:01I don't like this tweet.
33:02It should be
33:03ass of the century.
