00:00The Stubborn Baby Elephant
00:01In a land, far away, there lived a family of elephants in a forest.
00:08The youngest member of this family was a very stubborn and naughty baby elephant.
00:17One day, when his parents were going for a walk, they yelled after him.
00:24Darling, where are you? Come on, we're going for a walk.
00:28Where are you, son? Come on!
00:32In a short while, the baby elephant came next to them.
00:36He felt no need to go for a walk with them.
00:40I don't want to come with you. It's boring.
00:44Your siblings are so excited to come. Why are you like this?
00:49Well, they can go. We always do the same things.
00:53And being an elephant is so boring.
00:55It's boring. Come on.
00:57Mama and Papa Elephant were very surprised by the last words of their baby,
01:02but did not want to show it.
01:05Hmm. Alrighty then. As you wish.
01:10Don't move from here. We'll be back before dark.
01:13Sure as always.
01:15His family left the little stubborn elephant alone and went away.
01:20The baby elephant played on his own for a while.
01:26But soon after, he began to get bored.
01:29The more bored he was, the more mad he had become.
01:35I don't want to be an elephant anymore.
01:38It's bad to be an elephant.
01:40I wonder what I should be.
01:43Right that moment, he noticed a jumping and hopping gazelle.
01:49And so he made up his mind.
01:52Yeah, yeah. I should be a gazelle. Fast and agile.
01:55The baby elephant tried to copy the gazelle and jumped around.
02:01But his big and lumpy feet got tangled and he fell down.
02:06Head first. And of course, it hurt a little.
02:10It's not fun being a gazelle.
02:13The baby elephant began to go further into the forest.
02:17He came amongst the tree where the monkeys were playing.
02:21They were jumping from one branch to another, having so much fun together.
02:28So he thought to himself,
02:30The monkeys have so much fun.
02:32I should be a monkey.
02:34So he yelled out to the monkeys.
02:38Hey monkeys, look at me.
02:40I'm also a monkey.
02:41Play with me too.
02:43The monkeys stopped for a little while and looked at the baby elephant.
02:47And then they all went down from the tree and surrounded him.
02:53One jumped on him.
02:55One pulled his ear.
02:56One hung on his trunk.
02:58And the last one threw a coconut on his head.
03:03Baby elephant was stunned.
03:04And he couldn't run away jumping to a branch like the monkeys.
03:08They really hurt him.
03:10He could not play with the monkeys.
03:11Finally, he got rid of them with his trunk and ran away as fast as he could.
03:20The baby elephant began to move further into the forest.
03:25This time round, he saw a squirrel on a tree.
03:29The squirrel plucked a chestnut from the branch and went back into his burrow.
03:34What a cute animal.
03:36Because he's small, he can get in and out of everywhere.
03:40Yes, I should be a squirrel.
03:42The baby elephant tried to climb up the tree and of course failed.
03:48So he poked his trunk into the burrow.
03:51The poor little squirrel was so frightened that it jumped out as fast as it could.
03:58The baby elephant tried to put his head into the burrow this time.
04:03But his head got stuck.
04:05It was very hard for him to take it out.
04:11I'm just not fit to be a squirrel.
04:13The trees are too small.
04:18The baby elephant was now too far from home.
04:23A little further, he came across a beautiful parrot.
04:28The parrot was flying from one tree to another.
04:32The baby elephant enjoyed watching this.
04:35He came closer.
04:37I want to be a parrot too.
04:39Can you teach me to fly?
04:41Of course I can.
04:43Together, they went to a high cliff next to a lake.
04:48Now watch me and see how I fly.
04:51The parrot opened his wings and jumped.
04:54He was gliding in the sky.
04:58The baby elephant copied him and went down the cliff.
05:03As the parrot flew with his wings,
05:06the baby elephant fell down from thin air and landed in the lake.
05:13Thankfully, he managed to get out and make it to the shore.
05:17He was covered in mud and his whole body was in pain.
05:23The parrot flew next to him.
05:26You should stay being an elephant, my friend.
05:30Right at that moment, a baby bird sitting on the cliff fell out of its nest and disappeared in the
05:37lake.
05:40In a panic, Mother Bird flew next to her baby where it had disappeared.
05:45She was flying above the water and yelling,
05:49Help!
05:50Somebody help!
05:51Save my baby!
05:53Help!
05:53Baby elephant went in the water that instant,
05:57put his trunk in and began to search for the baby bird.
06:02After a few seconds went past,
06:04he took his trunk out and the baby bird was right there,
06:07on the tip of his trunk.
06:10She's alive!
06:11She's alive!
06:14The baby elephant carefully put the baby bird down by the lake.
06:19Mother Bird flew and came next to them.
06:23Thank God you were here!
06:25If it weren't for you, she would have drowned!
06:28Hearing these words, the elephant was very happy.
06:32He felt worthy.
06:34If I weren't an elephant, I couldn't save this baby bird, he thought.
06:40I think I'm meant to stay as an elephant.
06:43It was almost night time.
06:46The elephant was very far from home now.
06:50He was super impatient about this.
06:54On his way back, he saw the parrot flying in the sky,
06:59the squirrel taking his head out of the burrow,
07:02the monkey swinging from one branch to another,
07:07and the very fast gazelle that ran past him.
07:10But he thought of nothing other than how much he had missed his family
07:14and how much he made them upset with his silly stubbornness.
07:19All he wanted to do now was to apologize.
07:22All he wanted to do now was to apologize.
