00:02:37I have a lot of fun at work.
00:02:39Fun is what makes the day go by.

00:09:01You might be my favorite person that's walked through those doors.
00:09:05I think you're a racehorse, man.
00:09:08I love what you did.
00:09:09You're crazy talented, crazy unbelievable.

00:09:22You can hallowed the bad boys any day of the week.
00:09:25I don't think we've seen a star, star, star like you yet.
00:09:34I wonder, do we have any valedictorians in this class?
00:09:37Where did you rank in your class, Carrie?
00:09:39I was salutatorian.
00:09:42But the only reason I wasn't valedictorian is because two of the classes I needed were at the same time.
00:09:48So you could have been it.
00:09:50Yeah, and I remember talking to the counselor like, this isn't fair.
00:09:54What were you?
00:09:55I was not in the running.
00:09:57You didn't qualify.
00:09:59I was known back then as Lionel Who.
00:10:03I didn't even know I was in the class.
00:10:06Oh, God.
00:10:08How are you feeling?
00:10:09Good.
00:10:09I'm excited.

00:10:22I don't know who I'd be without them.
00:10:24Love you so much.
00:10:25I've just been trying to think all the positive thoughts, manifest all the things, but the fact it's all today
00:10:31I think is kind of stressed me out a little.
00:10:33Oh, my God.
00:10:34I don't know why I'm so nervous.
00:10:36I'm sorry.

00:11:12Look at you, cool guy, you got it.
00:11:16I see the parties and the diamonds, sometimes when I close my eyes.
00:11:20Six months of torture you sold to some forbidden paradise.
00:11:24I loved you truly.
00:11:26Gotta laugh at this stupidity.
00:11:29I made some real big mistakes.
00:11:32You made the worst one look fine.
00:11:35I should have known it was strange.
00:11:39You only come out at night.
00:11:42I used to think I was smart.
00:11:46You made me look so naive.
00:11:48The way you sold me for parts as you sunk your teeth into me.
00:11:55You're a bloodsucker, dream crusher.
00:12:00Bleeding me dry like a damn vampire.
00:12:06You said it was true love, but wouldn't I be hard?
00:12:10You can't love anyone, cause I wouldn't mean you had a heart.
00:12:13I tried to help you out.
00:12:15Now I know that I can't.
00:12:16Cause all you think is the kind of thing I'll never understand.
00:12:24I made some real big mistakes.
00:12:28You made the worst one look fine.
00:12:31I should have known it was strange.

00:24:50like you have a control and a composure about yourself i i think i'm gonna i'm gonna be wrestling
00:24:57over here i think your opening was just nerves um that look has not caught up to that matured voice
00:25:05yeah i have to think about this while luke is talking to you if we say no to him what
00:25:11are we
00:25:11doing here yeah yeah i know just in my opinion i mean i know he's young but we're all saying
00:25:17that he
00:25:18sings great she's just playing guitar great and he's singing pretty daggone good so i look at you and i
00:25:28see
00:25:29my son and i would not throw him in the middle of it where you are at 16. so that's
00:25:39where i'm coming from
00:25:41a no for me
00:25:46what do we do with this young prodigy
00:25:51it's me it's a yes for me nice um

00:26:42miss carrie i just want to say
00:26:45i'm gonna prove to you that i have what it takes
00:26:54it's been a good day hello hello hey
00:26:59tell us all about yourself uh my name is sheldon riley i'm 26 years old from melbourne australia
00:27:07melbourne what you doing here american idol huh you're crazy
00:27:16i wanted to do music since i was a really young kid
00:27:19when i was maybe about 15 years old i sung at my school and uh i remember that first applause
00:27:25i was
00:27:26like yeah this is what i want to do i love the way it made me feel i love the
00:27:29way that it made me feel
00:27:31noticed about 10 years ago i auditioned for a big tv show back in australia um it's my big moment
00:27:39and i uh sung my song and they said it wasn't quite enough uh just you singing it's not enough
00:27:50that experience made me doubt myself it made me feel i had to play a character just to be seen
00:27:57i kind of created this character that dressed up like crazy the most avant-garde high fashion
00:28:03crystals and diamonds and it was the thing that made people see me
00:28:09it just kind of took off i had opportunities like crazy not just australia but the entire world
00:28:18i've been on every tv show competition known to men i've done it all and uh the art was just
00:28:24got
00:28:24getting crazier and crazier and crazier it almost felt like an addiction to be
00:28:29the most memorable person in the room but i'd come home i'd take the mask off the makeup the
00:28:36accessories the everything and i would hate the person that i saw in the mirror hated that version of me
00:28:47so i took two years off and remembered uh why that little kid got up on stage that first time
00:28:54and
00:28:55this is the one show there's no smoke there's no mirrors no nothing and i said to myself if i
00:29:00was
00:29:00going to come back into music it would be here with just the piano and just me and and if
00:29:05you don't
00:29:05like it you don't like it i don't ever know if anyone's ever really going to want what i have
00:29:09to
00:29:09give without everything that i usually put on that's a big part of why i'm here just to remind
00:29:17myself that uh my voice is enough everybody's got their version of what you just said you know
00:29:24everybody's got their mask whether it is something physical that they hide behind or this this certain
00:29:30identity that they've created for themselves and you know then of course you do worry that if i
00:29:36wasn't that would anyone still love me yeah you're very relatable oh thank you what are you going
00:29:43to sing for us today this is uh brother by matt corby it's a australian singer yeah all right thank
00:29:51you

00:31:57You being the loudest guy in the room

00:41:41She's going to Hollywood Week
00:41:49I couldn't stop looking at her baby knees
00:41:52Her what?
00:41:53Baby knees
00:41:55When you have like a face in your knees
00:41:58Oh really?
00:41:59Do you know baby knees?
00:42:00I've never heard of that
00:42:01I've never heard of that
00:42:01I have baby knees
00:42:02Oh really?
00:42:03Right after Kate and William had their baby George
00:42:08Right?
00:42:08Yeah George
00:42:09My knees were in a magazine and it was like Prince George's face is in Carrie Underwood's knees
00:42:16And I was like what the crap is going on with my knees?
00:42:20So I have baby faces in my knees and I can make them sing too
00:42:25You can make them sing?
00:42:26It was like
00:42:27Bah
00:42:27Bah
00:42:29Bah
00:42:29Bah
00:42:30I gotta shake my knees now
00:42:32Alright
00:42:34That's crazy
00:42:54Ah, there we are.
00:42:55Hello.
00:42:55How you doing?
00:42:56Good, how are you?
00:42:57Great.
00:42:58What's your name?
00:42:59Hannah Harper.
00:43:00Where are you from?
00:43:00Willow Springs, Missouri.
00:43:02Where did you get that dress?
00:43:03This was homemade.
00:43:05If this doesn't scream yee haw, I don't know what will.
00:43:08What kind of music do you perform, listen to?
00:43:11I grew up doing bluegrass.
00:43:13My family had a bluegrass gospel band.
00:43:15Went church to church and sang at churches.
00:43:19I grew up in a super musical family.
00:43:21My dad worked at the lead mine for several years.
00:43:24One evening he was just feeling like God was calling him to do something different with his life.
00:43:28So in 2009 my parents quit their jobs and we bought a bus and we went on the road as
00:43:32a family band.
00:43:34The tour bus was 40 foot long.
00:43:37It was bright red.
00:43:38And we lived on the bus for seven years.
00:43:41We just would go coast to coast and play banjos and sing for the Lord.
00:43:46It was a very unconventional upbringing but I literally wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
00:43:59We didn't come back into Missouri until 2016.
00:44:01We settled back down and then I met my husband.
00:44:04We got married and we found out we were pregnant with our first baby like four months after we got
00:44:08married.
00:44:09Every morning.
00:44:10Oh!
00:44:11Right in the noggin.
00:44:12I'm sorry buddy.
00:44:14Then one turned to three really fast.
00:44:16With three boys it comes a lot of chaos.
00:44:18Same old coffee.
00:44:19And a lot of fun.
00:44:21Same old coffee.
00:44:22Same old coffee.
00:44:22Watch your head.
00:44:23Cy why are you standing up there?
00:44:25Same old house.
00:44:27Same old stuff.
00:44:29It's just hectic at all times.
00:44:31Mom, eat some pizza paper.
00:44:34Or is he trying to wind up?
00:44:35Let's eat some pizza and then you can go take a nap.
00:44:37Do you want to go na-na?
00:44:38No!
00:44:39No!
00:44:40I'm trying out for the show just because I want the opportunity to give the boys the same life that
00:44:43I had growing up.
00:44:45In a bigger way if possible.
00:44:47To be able to sustain my family and do music full time.
00:44:52I have two boys.
00:44:54They make things more interesting.
00:44:55Oh for sure.
00:44:56Mine's been screaming all day.
00:44:58Good!
00:44:58Yay!
00:44:59That's great!
00:45:01What are you going to sing for us today?
00:45:02I'm going to sing an original that I wrote called String Cheese.
00:45:05You're like my favorite person.
00:45:06You're wearing homemade clothes.
00:45:08You're singing songs called String Cheese.
00:45:10What's the song about?
00:45:11My youngest is one and shortly after he was born I had postpartum depression and so I was sitting on
00:45:16my couch.
00:45:16I said I wasn't going to cry.
00:45:20I was sitting on my couch wallowing.
00:45:24And you have boys you know.
00:45:26Everybody wants to touch you.
00:45:28And I didn't want to be touched.
00:45:31And my youngest son like I was just having a pity party and praying that the Lord would calm my
00:45:38spirit.
00:45:40And my son kept coming up to me.
00:45:42He said mom open this.
00:45:43Mom open this.
00:45:43Open my cheese.
00:45:44I'm like leave me alone with the dadgum cheese.
00:45:46And I finally opened this cheese and when I did I realized that God had put me in that place.
00:45:50And that where I was in my house was the biggest ministry that I could ever have.
00:45:55And being a mom so I gathered myself and I got up off the couch and I quit throwing a
00:46:01pity party and I realized that that was exactly what I wanted.
00:46:05And I kind of kicked the postpartum depression in the butt and I said I ain't doing it.
00:46:09There you go.
00:46:10So I wrote this song called string cheese.
00:46:14Do you need a second?
00:46:15I want to give you like.
00:46:17Probably just give me one second.
00:46:19I can't I can't cry and sing so.
00:46:22I don't want to put you in that position.
00:46:25Here.
00:46:25Thank you so much.
00:46:33You ready?
00:46:35I think so.
00:46:48I warm my morning coffee up for the third time.
00:46:53Miss Rachel on the TV with their favorite nursery rhyme.
00:47:00Hot wheels and little people under my feet.
00:47:05Baby's crying.
00:47:07It's pure chaos but I don't miss a beat.
00:47:12Always knew that a nine to five wouldn't suit me very good.
00:47:18But my hours are extended.
00:47:21That's just motherhood.
00:47:24I never knew this is what my twenties would look like.
00:47:30But they saved me before I had the chance to waste my life.
00:47:36One day I'll be alone with a hot fresh cup of joe.
00:47:42Wishing that someone would just drop me by.
00:47:48And I'll sit and reminisce on times that I sure miss.
00:47:54I've scattered toys and a baby on my hip.
00:48:00I thought finding peace in the quiet's what I wanted.
00:48:06But I'd do anything to go back to being needed.
00:48:11To those days I want to cry.
00:48:16Run away and hide.
00:48:19But I'd worry about their every need.
00:48:24When I'm overwhelmed and touched out.
00:48:28They come climbing up on the couch saying,
00:48:32Mama, can you open my strange cheeks?
00:48:37I smile because I know meeting their needs fills my soul.
00:48:44Being there, Mama, is who I'm meant to be.
00:48:53That's great.
00:48:54Do you have more questions?
00:48:55Oh.
00:48:57My turn.
00:49:00This pack is going quick.
00:49:02Yeah, but.
00:49:05Well, that's about the most relatable song I think I've ever heard.
00:49:11Hannah.
00:49:13Great job.
00:49:15Great job.
00:49:16Just with that mountainous bluegrass sound that you have in there.
00:49:21I kept thinking like Kacey Musgraves is in there.
00:49:24I kept thinking certainly Alison Krauss.
00:49:27Like a little dolly.
00:49:28A little dolly in there.
00:49:30And gosh, even if we got you to lean in more on it.
00:49:33Fill the room a little more.
00:49:34You're going to be able to move some people.
00:49:36But great song.
00:49:37Way to really write the moment you're in.
00:49:40Yeah.
00:49:41I want you to use Dolly as the example of two things.
00:49:45One, her storytelling ability.
00:49:47And two, she has the ability to tell that story and then give us a lift.
00:49:52Mm-hmm.
00:49:53You've got the range.
00:49:54I would have loved to have found you just on one of those lines.
00:49:57Just hold it for a minute.
00:49:58I don't know.
00:49:59I was going up, but then I chickened out because I was crying.
00:50:02Yeah.
00:50:02Yeah.
00:50:02It was hard to come from a tear.
00:50:04It is.
00:50:04You might be my favorite person that's walked through those doors in the past three days.
00:50:08You're my new best friend.
00:50:10You're gorgeous.
00:50:12Like you look famous already.
00:50:15I just think you have just a beautiful simplicity to your voice.
00:50:19You're one that I'm going to think about when we leave here.
00:50:22Like, I wonder what song she's going to sing next.
00:50:25And I feel like I'm going to be just rooting for you.
00:50:27I loved everything about everything you just did.
00:50:31Thank you so much.
00:50:31I mean, it's a yes.
00:50:32I'll go first.
00:50:33It's a yes for me.
00:50:34I'll go second.
00:50:35It's a yes for me.
00:50:36Yes for me.
00:50:37Heck yeah, brother.
00:50:38You get this.
00:50:39You are going to Hollywood Weeks.
00:50:42It's nice to meet you.
00:50:42Nice to meet you too.
00:50:44Oh my God, I'm chicken!
00:50:50Hearing Carrie say that I was one of her favorite people that has walked through the doors,
00:50:53I almost melted in my boots.
00:50:54That's the biggest compliment I've ever received.
00:50:56She was great.
00:50:57Oh, goodness.
00:50:59It means a lot to me to get up there and stand and represent other moms.
00:51:04And let them know that they're not alone.
00:51:06And let them know that they can still chase their dreams with their little people.
00:51:09Some real juice on that one.
00:51:12Unassuming.
00:51:13Sweet.
00:51:14Perfectly moldable into stardom.
00:51:20And I'm gonna love you.
00:51:23Sweetie, can I help you put it on the fridge?
00:51:29Can I help you put it on the fridge?
00:51:31Good job.
00:51:32Let them know.
00:51:39Don't get any love.
00:51:40No, you don't have to wait.
00:51:43She said love don't come easy.
00:51:46It's a game of give and take.
00:51:48I remember Mama's Dad.
00:51:49That's going on, Miss Lee!
00:51:51Have you seen the guy that does with pins and stuff?
00:51:54Is that one of your Tik Toks?
00:51:55Yeah, that's Tik Tok, I could tell right away.
00:51:57He's on the Tik Tok Zoom scroll.
00:52:03Oh, man, I remember swearing off TikTok and now I'm a TikToker.
00:52:10Is he down?
00:52:13Is he down?
00:52:17I'm addicted to TikTok.
00:52:19I'll just go on and say it if anybody wants to intervene.
00:52:35And now I'm actually scrolling, finding talent that somehow makes it in front of us judges.
00:52:42Well, tell us how you made it here.
00:52:44Somebody happened to see me.
00:52:46That's right.
00:52:48What's your dreams in music?
00:52:50I want to go from being a TikTok singer to a real singer.
00:52:54And I also really want a Birkin bag.
00:52:56Oh.
00:52:57I've been everywhere, man, looking for you, babe.
00:53:01Looking for you, babe. Searching for you, babe.
00:53:05But Lord, I've had a lot of no's.
00:53:07I don't want to tell you no because I feel like I'm responsible for bringing you here,
00:53:11but it's a no for me right now.
00:53:13Don't tell him I've gone crazy.
00:53:16It's gonna be a no for me this trip.
00:53:18I agree.
00:53:19It's a no for me.
00:53:21Obviously, I'm learning that TikTok has filters on it to make you sound amazing.
00:53:26So, maybe I need to go find those filters and sing on them myself.
00:53:31All right.
00:53:32Tell the world how you arrived here.
00:53:34I had somebody message me and they were like, hey, come on in.
00:53:36Well, I might have seen you on TikTok, but I must say currently I'm 0 for 2 on TikTok referrals.
00:53:44People know where this is gonna be.
00:53:47Come on.
00:53:49I think I'm gonna be okay.
00:53:51Yes, sir.
00:53:52Yes, sir.
00:53:52I think I ended the slump, Lionel.
00:53:55You did.
00:53:55Probably leave.
00:54:00Whoo!
00:54:02Let's thank Keri.
00:54:07I'm a yes.
00:54:09Lionel.
00:54:10Congratulations, Luke.
00:54:13It's a yes for me.
00:54:15Hey.
00:54:16Awesome.
00:54:17Yes.
00:54:18I'm one for three.
00:54:20There you go.
00:54:20Thank you guys so much.
00:54:24Mr. Luke Bryan, thank you so much for getting me here after seeing my TikTok.
00:54:30You did it.
00:54:31Finally.
00:54:32I was told that I saved Luke Bryan's career.
00:54:35And you totally redeemed yourself.
00:54:38All at the pop shop.
00:54:40Woo-hoo!
00:54:42Let's go.
00:54:43Nice.
00:54:44Hey, sir.
00:54:45What's happening?
00:54:46You videoing?
00:54:47Oh, yeah.
00:54:49Oh, my gosh.
00:54:50Carmen, I'm so proud of you.
00:54:53Yay!
00:54:54Ah!
00:54:56Oh, my goodness.
00:54:59Hi, I'm Carmen Laurel Martin.
00:55:01I'm 20 years old.
00:55:02I'm from El Dorado Hills, California.
00:55:04And I'm here with my aunt, Brittany Bateman, from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
00:55:09I'm so excited.
00:55:11She lives with me.
00:55:13You're on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
00:55:16So who is your nemesis?
00:55:17Or is there not one?
00:55:19Or are there many?
00:55:20I feel like you guys are going to be in next season as well.
00:55:22I just get this vibe about you.
00:55:24I know all of them.
00:55:24I think so, too.
00:55:24We're going to start some fights.
00:55:26I think on the show, she's definitely still her silly self.
00:55:30She's a little crazy.
00:55:32And I love it.
00:55:33Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
00:55:35I have an announcement.
00:55:37What about me?
00:55:38You guys, seriously.
00:55:41What about me?
00:55:42What about me?
00:55:46Brittany has always been a very big mentor to me.
00:55:50So get out there.
00:55:51Okay, everybody, let's go.
00:55:53Okay.
00:55:53She has her own spotlight.
00:55:55She's living out her dream.
00:55:56And that's why I'm here, too.
00:55:58She is music.
00:55:59I mean, she radiates music out of her pores.
00:56:03You look bad.
00:56:04It just explodes.
00:56:05Yeah.
00:56:06She bubbles in light.
00:56:07Yeah.
00:56:08Oh, my little.
00:56:10That's my theme song.
00:56:11You go in there and you rush it.
00:56:13My lovely Carmelita.
00:56:15Brittany, you can stand to the side and just sing Carmelita.
00:56:17She comes in and they don't know what this is.
00:56:19That's the entrance.
00:56:21Oh, Carmelita.
00:56:23I really should do that.
00:56:24Does anyone have a glass and a knife?
00:56:28Why do you have a wine glass?
00:56:30Uh, you'll see.
00:56:35Howdy, howdy, howdy.
00:56:36Hello.
00:56:37Whoa, wait.
00:56:38What?
00:56:38What's happening?
00:56:39Hi.
00:56:40How are you?
00:56:41How are y'all?
00:56:41What do you have?
00:56:44I have an announcement.
00:56:45What is the announcement?
00:56:47This is my beautiful niece, Carmelita.
00:56:51That's been her nickname since she was born.
00:56:53Carmelita?
00:56:54That is me.
00:56:55Do you know me?
00:56:56I'm Brittany.
00:56:58Brittany Bateman.
00:57:01The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
00:57:03Oh, we are.
00:57:04Yes.
00:57:05But this is not about me.
00:57:06This is about my amazing, gorgeous, perfect niece.
00:57:10Hi.
00:57:10Who you're about to hear, and it's insane.
00:57:13Well, if we don't have good things to say, she has a knife.
00:57:16She has a weapon.
00:57:17So, all right, Miss Brittany, you can go right there on that X.
00:57:21Be careful.
00:57:21Don't fall over there.
00:57:22Give away the spotlight to the niece.
00:57:25All right, let's hear it.
00:57:26Let's hear it.
00:57:27Okay.
00:57:27Do you guys want this?
00:57:29Yes.
00:57:29For good keeping?
00:57:30Oh, good keeping.
00:57:31Sure.
00:57:31Yes?
00:57:32Let's do it, Miss Carmen.
00:57:34Okay.
00:57:35Okay.
00:57:40I woke up with a headache today
00:57:44Cause I've got a mortgage due
00:57:47And an empty bed to make
00:57:54Baby, I bet you're happy now
00:58:00Probably found just someone new
00:58:03Who's got his life all figured out
00:58:09Girl, I thought it was love
00:58:17Girl, I knew it was love
00:58:25I guess I didn't know what love was
00:58:41Good job!
00:58:42You have a really pretty voice.
00:58:45Like, your range is really great.
00:58:47You're hitting some high notes in there
00:58:49But it would be great
00:58:51If you could put some oomph in there
00:58:53Yeah
00:58:53We actually might have something
00:58:55To sing together
00:58:56Okay, cool
00:58:57Oh, cool
00:58:58Let's hear y'all do one
00:58:59Okay
00:58:59Let's see where you go
00:59:01Just sing
00:59:01Have fun like you're in the living room
00:59:03You got it
00:59:04Okay

00:59:14I just have to forget
00:59:16The hurt that came below
00:59:19Forget what used to be
00:59:22The past is on the cutting room floor
00:59:27The future is here
00:59:30With me
00:59:33With me
00:59:34Choose me
00:59:38It's all you've been needing

01:00:02Yeah, I think
01:00:03Friends and the family
01:00:04I learned something
01:00:05It's very good
01:00:06It was very present there
01:00:08We just got to get you to cut loose a little bit
01:00:10I think the piano is forcing you to be very proper
01:00:13Oh, you should see me with a band
01:00:15Well, we got to get you to the band
01:00:18That's very true
01:00:19That's very true
01:00:20I think that the only way she's going to actually understand this thing called roughing up
01:00:26Is to put her in a brawl
01:00:28And the only way to put you in a brawl is to say yes
01:00:31So you can go to the next level and meet the rest of this crazy class
01:00:35And you'll understand what this means
01:00:37Oh, yeah
01:00:38Okay
01:00:38So it's a yes for me
01:00:40I think your voice has definitely earned you a yes
01:00:44But I want to see some fire
01:00:47I can show it
01:00:48I kind of believe you can
01:00:49There's a yes
01:00:51Hey
01:00:53Let me see the glass
01:00:54Boom, boom, ding, ding, ding

01:04:18My life revolved around baseball
01:04:20My twin brother
01:04:21Kellen and I
01:04:22Played sports
01:04:23Constantly
01:04:25Dad was dead set
01:04:27On us becoming
01:04:28College athletes
01:04:32Unfortunately
01:04:33Going into high school
01:04:34I was starting to have knee pain
01:04:35In both of my legs
01:04:36Tell me how to be in this world
01:04:38Then I found out
01:04:39That I have a congenital issue
01:04:42My legs are naturally
01:04:44In the wrong position
01:04:48I needed surgery
01:04:49I needed two lower leg
01:04:50Realign
01:04:53That put a stop
01:04:54To the dreams
01:04:55Of becoming an athlete
01:04:58It was tough
01:04:59Seeing everybody
01:05:00Be able to get to do
01:05:01What I wanted to do
01:05:04As I'm hurt
01:05:05It kind of hit me
01:05:07Like wait
01:05:07I feel better
01:05:09When I am singing
01:05:10And my twin brother
01:05:11Kellen was there for me
01:05:13He was kind of like
01:05:15My voice of encouragement
01:05:19Growing up
01:05:20Till now
01:05:20I always felt it
01:05:22His talent
01:05:22Is music
01:05:24Is singing
01:05:24And I couldn't be more proud
01:05:26Of Braden
01:05:27Because of everything
01:05:29That he's going through
01:05:29Where he's at now
01:05:31With pursuing his new dream
01:05:32He's my hero
01:05:35The only reason
01:05:36That I hadn't signed up
01:05:37For American Idol
01:05:37Was because I was scared
01:05:40This is my dream
01:05:41I didn't know
01:05:42That I would get
01:05:43Like a

01:08:35A racehorse, man
01:08:36Don't you agree?
01:08:37I agree
01:08:37You have a top end
01:08:40To your voice
01:08:41It's not as high
01:08:43As Steve Perry
01:08:43But the texture
01:08:45When you get up there
01:08:46Is so sweet, man
01:08:49It doesn't break
01:08:49No, it does not
01:08:51And we can wake

01:09:53He could be doing
01:09:54He's got such potential
01:10:06That was crazy
01:10:08To see how well he did
01:10:10We've got a lot of memories
01:10:12Together under our belt
01:10:13And I wouldn't be here

01:10:20I'm going to Hollywood week
01:10:22It ain't slowin' down
01:10:31An old cowpoke went ridin' out
01:10:33A dark and windy day
01:10:37Upon a ridge he rested
01:10:39As he went along his way
01:10:41When all at once
01:10:42A mighty herd
01:10:43Of red-eyed cows he saw
01:10:44Plowin' through those ragged skies
01:10:48And up the cloudy draw
01:10:52Yippee-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye

01:12:08No risk, no story.
01:12:09No risk, no story.
01:12:11What's the deal with that?
01:12:12Well, last year I had a miscarriage.
01:12:16That moment made me realize that life is short
01:12:19and I could just think of all the things
01:12:21that I didn't do because I was too scared.
01:12:23I decided that the risk was worth the sacrifice.
01:12:26So, no risk, no story.
01:12:28So, here I am.
01:12:29Ah, ah.
01:12:30I like that.

01:18:31there were shared concerns about my abilities to balance a journey like american idol and my
01:18:38mental health
01:18:41i was diagnosed with anxiety and depression my freshman year of high school
01:18:46but i'd been struggling with those feelings for a big part of my life
01:18:51i mean through even elementary and middle school
01:18:54he came up to us and said i am not okay
01:18:57there's something happening with me
01:18:59i mean it's a knife to your chest
01:19:02because you're thinking
01:19:04you know what's going on what's what's happening
01:19:06and he said i'm sad all the time
01:19:11for me anxiety is just like a big wave crashing on you and you just drown
01:19:17the ocean is angry
01:19:20i was pushing the value of my life
01:19:24you have to look in the mirror and recognize that mental health professionals need to get involved
01:19:31and that there's no shame in that
01:19:34and that there's no shame in that
01:19:39music is my lifeline it's what keeps me grounded
01:19:45i had so much to smile about with my audition
01:19:48and i just knew like i really regret it if i didn't give this another shot
01:19:52i'm just hoping that whatever i'm doing
01:19:54just reflects the message of just not giving up
01:19:58and most importantly to not be defined by your struggles
01:20:01but by your strengths
01:20:04i choke up just thinking about it
01:20:05because i'm very lucky to be here
01:20:08you know life is a gift
01:20:11for you to come back out here
01:20:14to try this we are very happy and proud of you

01:20:25where i was at a crossroads of deciding whether or not to give up or to keep going
01:20:29huh
01:20:29and found that you know it's as simple as just stay one more day
01:20:34that's the message
01:20:36it's been rough it's we've had some rough years
01:20:38and this song in particular it's um it's suicide prevention basically
01:20:51what do you see when you look at me
01:20:57the blessings that i'm letting go lord you forgive so easily
01:21:02it's getting harder to find peace
01:21:07get the chance to grow old

01:21:15helen by every night
01:21:17too far gone for prayer
01:21:19just a boy afraid to die
01:21:26oh heartache stare words unspoken the burden of my flaws
