00:00been a minute since we've done the whole diner thing i've been wanting to do a couple more of
00:04these like every other week or something i'm never in this area also i'm like standing on the highway
00:09right now so i'm sure the wind sounds crazy one of the places that is one of the most popular
00:15historically diners in this area is known as the tiktok diner located in clifton new jersey right
00:20on route three as you can tell but it got really popular especially around the time that diners
00:24drive-ins and dives popped off because guy fieri came here and then all of a sudden the line was
00:28out the door i'm gonna be honest with you haven't been here in a while i've always thought it was
00:31mid so i had to come back with to start doing food videos let's go inside and see what it's
00:35hitting on
00:35it's crazy because it's very rare that you come to a diner in new jersey that still looks like the
00:40old
00:40school look like the steel outside and the interior still has like the kind of that deco kind of vibe
00:47to it and i'm gonna be honest with you i really miss it so even if the food is like
00:51mid i still
00:53am happy i came here because this looks like the diners i grew up eating at and you just don't
00:58see
00:58that very often anymore so let me look at the menu i'm probably gonna get like one appetizer
01:03one and a half entrees see about the dessert also the other thing that i noticed this is these are
01:08all compliments by the way they don't have a huge menu like most diners now there's the page it's
01:12like a book and this one it's like just this thing and then they have some specials here
01:17sometimes diners can be overwhelming with how much food they have and i think that less is more
01:21especially if it's good like there's no reason to have seven billion things i'd rather have 30 things
01:25and they're good a lot of places have like 100 and half of them are terrible and so on so
01:30all right
01:30so i got two appetizers because i wasn't sure which ones i was gonna get they took the menus away

01:34put the overlays of the prices on the screen but this is the fried mac and cheese balls they're called
01:40the great balls of fire it was like a song back in the day weirdos and this comes with a
01:46chipotle
01:47dipping sauce funny enough they both come with different types of chipotle dipping sauces they both look the
01:51same but they might be different and this over here is an order of their panko onion rings so
01:56they're onion rings with panko breadcrumbs like i don't need a crazy explanation for that one
02:00i wasn't sure which one to pick so i ended up picking both
02:03so here is the fried mac and cheese ball
02:13i only have one complaint and i'm gonna tell you what it is right off the bat
02:16i need i need more balls five balls i'm gonna cut it for me but other than that the mac

02:23is creamy as hell this is definitely not like craft or something from a box these are definitely
02:28not from a box and you can tell right away like you can't make mac and cheese like this if

02:33you have box mac and cheese that looks like this then i highly suggest you showing me where it is
02:37all right let's try the chipotle mayo
02:45these are good as bro i'm gonna be honest with you i just wish there were more of them other

02:51that i don't really have a complaint these are very good the chipotle mayo is not overly spicy
02:55but it just adds a little bit more richness and a little bit of spice to it but the breading

03:02the real star of the show and y'all know i'm pickiest about my mac and cheese the mac and

03:06delicious i'm shocked honestly since we've been doing these dining videos is probably the best
03:12appetizer i've gotten from any of these places and i can't believe that because there's like no one
03:17here and i'm shocked by that but anyway i'm gonna give these an 8.5 out of 10 for anybody

03:22anything about me i am very particular with my mac and cheese so it's very anything that's like an
03:268.5 like these are almost cheesecake factory level the only thing cheesecake factory has better than
03:32them is that the things around it like the breading is better there i'm not trying to throw shade i'm
03:37just giving you a comparison on why i didn't give it a higher score it doesn't matter 8.5 and
03:42then we
03:42have the panko breadcrumbs these again look homemade
03:47the breadcrumbs don't really i mean they kind of can they're probably panko
03:50i'm just nitpicking first bite no anything
03:59really crispy they didn't do anything to the breading it just seems like straight up panko
04:06i wish more places would do more with the breading when it comes to onion rings a lot of them

04:10to just bread them and then fry them up and it's still not a bad thing because onion rings there's
04:14enough flavor in an onion that you can still have it but i would like to see them do more
04:18like maybe like parmesan or something um with the breadcrumbs just a thought out loud chipotle mayo
04:29i like that mayo it's definitely more mayo than chipotle it's not overly spicy again diners usually
04:37tend to not make things too spicy so i understand that but it's just the richness of i think dipping
04:43things in mayo is an underrated thing and i miss doing it but hopefully my mic is picking up this

04:52the other thing about these i notice is the onion i said this in the last video at skew's burgers
05:00i can't stand when you bite an onion ring and you rip the whole onion out because the onion's not

05:05enough this is like a good enough consistency that
05:13it's still intact but i'm not pulling it out either and you have to fry these things correctly
05:18in order to do it you give me a plate of these i'd be pretty happy i know both of

05:24dollars again i don't have the menu but you know the price more than i do right now
05:31as a thing for the table i think this is pretty damn good not the best onion ring i've had

05:36very solid and i'm gonna give these a 7.5 out of 10. so i did two entrees uh mainly

05:41couldn't decide and i wanted to get one like traditional with a twist and then i always do
05:45my blueberry pancakes everywhere that i go so i was looking at the burger menu and the waitress
05:50actually overheard me talking out loud to the camera and i mentioned this burger which is called
05:54a 50 50 burger the burger has like bacon on the inside of it like ground bacon so it's made
05:59of
05:5950 bacon and 50 burger she's like i overheard you saying that i served four of those today
06:03to a group of people that just came in here i said do you recommend it she said yeah so

06:07is the 50 50 burger so they must really love their chipotle mayo because this also comes
06:11with that with that same sauce again i think it's good so i don't mind um it also has red

06:17lettuce and tomato it was on the side of the burger but i just replaced it with onion rings
06:20because why the hell not then the blueberry pancakes we'll get to in a second but i need to try

06:24burger right away i don't know why i would take the fries off the burger melted cheddar
06:28cheddar i'm not gonna lie this does look really good
06:39brioche bun i love the melted cheddar on here goes a long way underrated on a burger
06:49also it is dripping it's a juicy burger i think they did the right thing by not like
06:54seasoning the burger because there's bacon in this so it's already naturally salty it reminds
07:01me of when i went to yard house and got that like pork burger that they had very similar texture

07:08but if i'm being honest other than that there's really not a lot else going on
07:13it's solid though i wouldn't be mad if i ordered this i just the way like it was talking about

07:36frozen straight cuts you can salt and pepper again not mad at it this is more what i expected
07:42from here like solid you know decent stuff but i'm glad they used a brioche because that goes a long
07:47way with me and the chipotle mayo is also pretty damn good but what are the blueberry pancakes hitting
07:54on it looks like there's a good amount of blueberries in here a little bit of powdered sugar
07:58and there's still only one place that use real syrup everybody else seems to use this smucker's one
08:03which makes a huge difference but that was saddenberg diner by the way only place they
08:07have their own branding of let's hear it let's get in here blueberry pancakes is always like my
08:15kid order as at the diner and then sometimes when i used to go after like being out of the
08:19club
08:19i would also get these let me see the inside i mean there's a blueberry in here
08:31second best pancakes i've had saddenberg still have the best ones but these are solid they're
08:37crispy on the outside they're still fluffy on the inside and there's an equal amount of blueberries in
08:43each pancake i'm not just making that up it seems like they have an equal amount on each of these
08:52i would eat this this is like a good pancake but i still like the ones like i wonder if

09:00ask them to do extra because the one at saddenberg was like falling apart and i like that
09:04well overall as far as diners go a lot of these diners have been so like bad recently that the

09:09that this is good like or decent is just a step up in the right direction to me this is

09:15should taste like like when i go to diners i shouldn't expect five star restaurant quality
09:19food i should expect good solid food for a solid price in some crazy steel looking colors and this
09:24is what that gives me so i am not mad at this at all that's the demographic that's what it

09:30that's what it was and that's what it should be again i should say but i think these are good
09:35you might only complain really more than anything
09:39i just i like real syrup i'm like good pancakes if i'm at the crib it's different but you know

09:46all use this fake syrup and i still eat it but if you really want to charge people what people

09:50charging at diners now like i feel like this is like cutting corners when you have like you know
09:5412 stacks of pancakes and stuff so other than that i'm gonna tear these apart i'm gonna eat some

10:06i would come here again i think the biggest thing for me why i wouldn't come is just

10:20some stuff from the bakery a lot of diners do that like most diners get their stuff sent in fresh
10:24from a bakery so i asked for a recommendation she said the strawberry cheesecake i said good i'm not
10:29walking to brooklyn right puppy pause first thing i noticed on this thing this is like
10:36first thing i noticed on this is there is no ass on this cheesecake so it's just straight up
10:39cheesecake so people who like a crust on a cheesecake you ain't got one on here me i don't really

10:59the cheesecake is delicious to me like i don't know where they got this from but i want to go

11:09the consistency is on point it's not ridiculously sweet it still lets some of that cream cheese go
11:15through the texture on it is crazy and then the strawberry part

11:31like i don't know where they got this from but if i was in the mood for cheesecake i would

11:46wow i'm gonna give this an 8 out of 10 like it's a very very solid cheesecake
11:52i would eat this again it might be like one of the best things i've gotten today
11:56really good honestly i don't know why there's not that many people here i still think saddenbrook
12:00is the best but like as far as like the food goes here this is the first one where there's
12:04nothing here that was like trash which is rare in the diners that i've done recently so

12:14i don't understand why there aren't more people here could just be the time of day right now it's
12:19saturday it's about 5 50 p.m i got here around like 4 30 there are it is starting to
12:23pick up a little
12:23bit but i'm surprised because again i said it's one of the like better places that i've had
12:28since we've been doing this diner tour now we're still in the infancy stages of it because there
12:32are so many diners in new jersey that i could do one every day for like the next year and
12:36still
12:36probably have some left i also thought price wise that it was relatively affordable the most expensive
12:40thing i got when i got my check was 16 and that was the burger for example so most of
12:45the burgers
12:45i've gotten since we've done this have been over 20 i also paid 22 for like this eggs and grits

12:51one place and most of their breakfast things are like 13 14 so 2025 relatively cheap which is insane
12:57to say i'm surprised but if you haven't been here uh it's been on the food network like i said
13:01i wouldn't put it anywhere near that category but i do think it's better now and i think that's more
13:07of an indictment that it's the other places have gotten worse but either way i did not enjoy this
