Green Party leader Zack Polanski has admitted he may have failed to pay the correct council tax while living on a London houseboat.

00:03Leader of the Green Party, Zach Polanski, has admitted he may have failed to pay the
00:08correct council tax while living on a houseboat moored in East London.
00:14His party originally said he only stayed on the boat occasionally, but then issued an
00:20apology from late on Monday night for what it described as an unintentional mistake.
00:25It comes after the party leader also admitted he was wrong to previously describe himself
00:31as a spokesman for the British Red Cross.
00:35Labour said Mr Polanski cannot be trusted, while the Conservatives accused him of staggering
00:41hypocrisy.
00:42The Times last week reported seeing an advertisement for the sale of the boat in which Mr Polanski's
00:48partner wrote that they were moving to a house and so will be sadly leaving the gorgeous community
00:55behind.
00:55The Daily Mail separately reported that Mr Polanski was registered to vote at a building
01:01near the marina, which he has also said to have used as a mailing address.
01:05A Green Party spokesperson said late on Monday until relatively recently Zach was living on
01:11a houseboat, which came with its own unique practical circumstances and considerations.
01:17They added that he has immediately taken steps to pay any council tax he may have found to
01:23with O. Zach apologises sincerely for the unintentional mistake.
