Zack Polanski says that the Green Party would put controls on rent, nationalise water companies and cut energy bills, in order to "end rip-off Britain". Polanski also says the Greens would implement a "1% tax on wealth over £10,000,000", which he says would "send a very clear message that those who have accumulated the most money will pay a little bit more". 00:00With these three measures, rent controls, bringing water into public hands, and cutting energy bills, we start to end rip
00:09-off Britain.
00:10But we also know, to change the game, we need to be clear about who is paying, and what rules
00:17we're following.
00:17So I briefly want to talk about tax, and who we're going to tax, and why.
00:23Look, we know, a wealth tax won't fix everything, and no one has ever pretended it would.
00:28But it would be a very good place to start.
00:31Implementing a 1% tax on wealth over £10 million, and 2% on £1 billion, would raise around £15
00:39billion per year.
00:41And it would send a very clear message, that those who have accumulated the most money, will pay a little
00:49bit more.
00:50Get that money flowing through the economy.
