00:00The Drive with Sterner and Kublai.
00:03Get the f*** out of bed, bitch. Go.
00:05Oh my. That's an attack there.
00:09Let's go.
00:11I know who that is.
00:13Mr. Reblet.
00:14That is, man.
00:16Songbird of our generation.
00:18Did you guys ever see the video of him getting the iPhone?
00:21No.
00:22He was the first person to buy an iPhone.
00:25Was he?
00:26Before anyone knew who he was.
00:27There's a video. He was first in line, I think, in Dallas.
00:30I think he's from Texas or is it?
00:32Yeah.
00:33And a lady offered him thousands of dollars to get his spot in line to be able to buy the
00:38first iPhone.
00:40And then when she got in there, she came with a bunch of cash.
00:42She was going to buy all these iPhones to be able to sell them.
00:44But when she got in the store, they limited. It's like two per customer.
00:47So she just paid Mark all this money to get his spot when she can only get two anyways.
00:52And they did a news story on it back before, obviously, he became what he's become.
00:56He was like in high school.
00:58And he camped out overnight to get the first spot in line when they were selling the iPhones for the
01:02first time.
01:03I'm going to watch that after the show.
01:05He's got that great voice.
01:07Yeah, he's got that great voice still.
01:08He's like an 18-year-old or whatever he was.
01:11Hit maker.
01:12He is, man.
01:16He wants that butt.
01:25Yeah, man.
01:26He's a talented.
01:27Turn around.
01:29Let me get a look at that ass, girl.
01:33Nice harmonies.
01:36We should take it on the road.
01:38Just take it to a restaurant down here.
01:39Harmonize well.
01:40We really like, I feel like we felt each other in that moment.
01:44We were really feeling that moment.
01:47We were harmonizing quite well.
01:48I can go down.
01:49First off, Luke just said Mark on a personal level, the way he said it.
01:55And they get Mark here.
01:57Yeah.
01:58Well, it's easier than saying Rebele, whatever his last name is.
02:00Just Mark.
02:02Just straight Mark.
02:03He is an animated character.
02:04He's something else, man.
02:05Very talented gentleman.
02:07Bring that ass to daddy.
02:10Yeah.
02:11Bring it.
02:13Also, the New York Knicks, they brought that Philadelphia 76ers ass to daddy
02:18and tore him up in a sweep.
02:23And they're back in the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight year.
02:28But interesting enough, last year, Luke, they fired Tom Thibodeau,
02:33even though they had gotten to the Eastern Conference Finals for like the first
02:36time in like 20-something years.
02:37They fired.
02:39You remember they were putting, they were changing street name signs.
02:44They had changed like one of the streets was Carl Anthony Townsway.
02:48And like they were just, they were that excited about them making it to the
02:52Eastern Conference Finals.
02:54But they fired Tibbs.
02:56And then they brought in Mike Brown.
02:58And a lot of people were like, okay, all right, that's interesting.
03:01We'll see.
03:02Like, I think people understood it.
03:04But I know you're seeing that situation and there is a clear correlation that you
03:11see between that situation and where the Rockets actually sit right now.
03:16Yeah, because I'm curious if the Rockets should keep an eye on that.
03:21I hated that move when it happened.
03:22I'm a Tibbs guy, similar to how I'm an EMA guy, I suppose.
03:26You like defensive guys.
03:27Okay.
03:27I guess so.
03:28Clearly.
03:28Yeah, I just like that hard nose, no nonsense attitude.
03:32Plus, Tibbs is from not far from where I grew up.
03:35So I always had a kinship towards him.
03:37And I did not like that move.
03:40And I thought it was silly with the job that he had done.
03:42But then fast forward, they figured, well, we need an offensive guy.
03:46That's what has hurt us in the playoffs.
03:47You know, we play great defense.
03:48We play hard, yada, yada, yada.
03:49We still need enough playmakers in the big spots.
03:53And so they went and they got an offensive coach.
03:55And now to this point, look, they haven't gotten any further than they did last year with Tibbs.
03:59But it does look different so far this postseason for the Knicks, which is why they're all optimistic.
04:04They're arguably the most impressive.
04:06I know that the Thunder have won all their games.
04:10Yeah.
04:10But the way that the Knicks have looked, these closeout games, they beat the hell out of it.
04:18I mean, hell out of the Hawks and the Sixers.
04:20Yeah.
04:21So, yeah.
04:22But it has, it looks different.
04:24And it does, as you said, feel like the Knicks are more equipped to win a championship.
04:31Right.
04:31Now, I don't know if anybody's beating the Thunder, but they do seem more equipped to be able to do
04:38it.
04:38And their offense is completely shifted.
04:42And you looked at that team, and they had Brunson, they had some guys.
04:47But you look at them, and it was like, they're not scoring enough.
04:49They can't hang with the Pacers right now.
04:51They're not scoring enough.
04:53And there is a fair thought that you look at the Rockets the same way.
04:57I mean, hell, they just put up 78 points in their final game of the regular season.
05:02They had their worst game ever.
05:03The offense, there are people who were wondering and posing the question, Luke, of, do these guys practice?
05:11These guys coach, like, teams for two months, two, three months, Rene, simple, we're just going to double-team Kevin
05:17Durant.
05:18And it just gave them fits for two, three straight months.
05:21Talking about practice.
05:23Something.
05:23But I could see the thought of, like, oh, is there an offensive mind out there that can do a
05:32similar shift that Mike Brown just did with the Knicks?
05:35That's a fair thought.
05:36Yeah, because if you look at the Knicks, we talk about what the Rockets need to do this offseason to
05:40get towards that level of the Thunder and go bring another star.
05:42The only player the Knicks brought in, I believe, was Jordan Clarkson.
05:46And he started one game.
05:47He came off the bench.
05:48He played an average of, like, 18 minutes per game this year.
05:50So it wasn't a huge addition.
05:52That's really the only change they made other than Mike Brown.
05:54And yet they won more games this year than last.
05:56They scored more points this year than last.
05:58And so far in the playoffs, they've had an easier pass to the conference finals so far and are the
06:03heavy favorites to win the Eastern Conference, which would be different than last year.
06:07So I've always been an EMA guy.
06:08But then I have to admit, I look over the Knicks, I see that one simple change.
06:12And I wonder, could that be all?
06:15It's not a simple change.
06:15I guess not.
06:16But it's just one change instead of, like, adjusting the whole roster.
06:20Could the Rockets be just that one move away that you bring in, I don't know, pick your favorite offense
06:25of mine.
06:25You bring in somebody, and that could be the key that unlocks the potential of this team that helps elevate
06:31them at least closer to the Thunder.
06:33Well, I think it's really fair when you dig into it of, like, to me, I am a proponent of
06:38going, go, and right now you see the landscape of the league and the Western Conference specifically.
06:46You can see the landscape if you're the Rockets.
06:48You've got Kevin Durant, which means your time is short with him, and you need to give yourself the best
06:56chance to win it all.
06:57And my thought is, yeah, they should be involved in, you know, the Giannis's, the Browns, any of the players,
07:06I would move away from Kawhi.
07:08But any of the players that are potentially going to move that are high-profile star players, they should be
07:15involved in it.
07:15But to the point that you're making is, man, I, yeah, I don't know, I don't know if this, this
07:30staff will be able to get and figure out the best way to employ a Kevin Durant and Giannis together.
07:41Yeah, that too.
07:42With them in Thompson.
07:43Like, I don't know, I don't know if, like, this group, you may be able to get the talent here.
07:48But again, like, we watch them, they got the talent.
07:50They added Kevin Durant, and somehow their offensive appeared to look even worse at times.
07:56So they can bring in pieces that can help them and have a better overall roster.
08:05But will this group be able to get the best out of them?
08:07That's, as you saw, we saw a change in mindset.
08:11Mike Brown coming over from Oklahoma, or I mean from Golden State all those years, and picking up that offense
08:17that Steve Kerr and Steph and them ran, and then bringing what he has known over there.
08:22That is a completely shift, completely different shift and change than what Tibbs was bringing.
08:28And you just saw with not a lot of player change, their offense really flourished.
08:35And something's got to happen with this offense, and it is not just player-driven.
08:40Something's got to happen with scheme and them being able to figure out how to get the best out of
08:45their guys.
08:46Everybody has a ceiling.
08:47And maybe for Emei, as much as I love him, maybe he does have a ceiling that keeps you from
08:51reaching that ultimate goal.
08:53That he's the guy to build up the team, kind of like he did with the Celtics, and then you
08:57hand it off to somebody else who can take them the rest of the way to go win a championship.
09:00And maybe it's similar here where he has built up this organization to a point where we're talking about having
09:06championship aspirations, but maybe he's not the guy to finish the job.
09:09And he's kind of like that good luck Chuck.
09:12Was that the terrible movie?
09:14Yeah, where they'd be engaged to him, and then the women would always marry their next boyfriend after him.
09:20And maybe that's the case where you have to go find that next person to now take them to that
09:25championship level.
09:27Maybe it's bringing Mike D'Antoni back.
09:29Is that Kevin James?
09:30I think it was like a Dane Cook product back in the day.
09:34Was that Dane Cook?
09:34Yep.
09:35Was that Dane Cook?
09:36What am I thinking of with Kevin James?
09:37Hitch?
09:38No.
09:39Paul Blart.
09:40Paul Blart?
09:41No, there's a comedy that feels like it's like that.
09:44Where he was, him and, something with Chuck.
09:49There's something that he is in with Chuck.
09:50Oh, I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry with Adam Sandler.
09:53It's a great one.
09:54It's such an underrated movie.
09:55Is it?
09:56Oh, yeah.
09:56I love that movie.
09:58It's hilarious.
09:58It's probably Sandler's best movie of the last, hold on, of the last 25 years?
10:06Post Big Daddy.
10:07I've got to go through the, I've got to go.
10:08Post Big Daddy.
10:09Okay, I've got to go through the last 25 years to look at that.
10:12It's good, but I don't know if it's up there for me with Sandler as a whole.
10:16I don't know, man.
10:18Because Rain on Me was really good.
10:20Well, that's great, too.
10:21I don't consider that a Sandler movie, though.
10:23That is a Sandler movie.
10:24It's him.
10:25It's not a prototypical Sandler movie.
10:28You're talking about comedy?
10:29Is that what you mean?
10:29Rain on Me?
10:30Yeah, like a Happy Madison production.
10:31I don't think Rain Over Me was.
10:33I don't think I even have that movie.
10:35Rain on Me?
10:36Oh, he's such a serious role.
10:38He plays it, man.
10:39Kind of like Brew on Euphoria.
10:41He really embraces that character.
10:43He really embraces that character.
10:45He's a good actor.
10:46Don Cheadle.
10:47He's good, too.
10:48He's an underrated actor.
10:49Which one?
10:50Adam or Don?
10:50Both of them.
10:52Sloppy Joe, sloppy Joe.
