00:00Tonight on Shark Tank...
00:02It's time to level up your social game.
00:05Love that!
00:05Don't chicken out on this great deal.
00:07What sounds like a super easy idea?
00:08Let's build a theme park.
00:09No!
00:10$2 million for a piece of plastic.
00:12Wait for this!
00:13You smell bad.
00:14That's not gonna change.
00:15I know I come off as maybe a kind of unassuming guy,
00:18but I'm an animal.
00:20You were very nasty to me when you came out here.
00:23This is awkward.
00:25Quiet! Quiet in the tank!
00:35First into the tank is a fun way to get to know your friends and family better.
00:48Hello, Sharks. My name is Brittany Rowe.
00:51I'm from New York City, and I'm seeking $200,000 for 10% of my company.
00:55New York, baby.
00:56Oh, yeah.
00:57Sharks, have you ever been to a party where the deepest conversation you had
01:01involved someone showing you pictures of their six cats?
01:04Seven!
01:05Seven cats.
01:07And when you head home for the holidays,
01:09it feels like Dad runs out of questions to ask after the old,
01:13so how's work going?
01:15If you're trying to make a real connection,
01:17struggling with small talk and trying to go back to your cell phone,
01:21it isn't going to get you there.
01:23Well, it's time to level up your social game with Hella Awkward,
01:29the card game that ignites genuine connections
01:31through hilariously unexpected conversations.
01:35Hella Awkward throws you 140 hilarious and thought-provoking questions
01:39in four unique categories.
01:41Relationships.
01:43Aw.
01:44Dating.
01:45Ooh-la-la.
01:46Real talk and S-E-X.
01:51Now, how do you play?
01:52Simply choose a category, pull a card at random with a pointed question on it,
01:58and everyone answers.
02:00But, since it can also lead to some wild reactions,
02:04we do give each player one skip card
02:07in case the question gets...
02:10Hella Awkward!
02:11Okay!
02:15Now, we believe the most hella awkward moments
02:18lead to the most hella meaningful bonds.
02:21So, who's ready to connect, share your stories,
02:25and really get to know your fellow sharks?
02:27Who's ready to get hella awkward?
02:32Good job.
02:33Great presentation.
02:35Thank you so much.
02:35You did a great job.
02:36You really did.
02:37Thank you.
02:37So, let's play one quick round.
02:39Mr. Wonderful.
02:40Yes?
02:40I see you have some cards in front of you.
02:42How about you read one of those?
02:44So, should I take this one?
02:44Yes, please.
02:45And then we'll have all the sharks answer.
02:47Ask each person in the group,
02:49what about me annoys you the most?
02:51What a setup.
02:56I knew you'd be a good sport.
02:59Well, Kevin, I've known you for 16 years.
03:03Yes.
03:03I don't know quite how to tell you this,
03:05but you smell bad.
03:07Oh!
03:08Okay.
03:09Well, Lori's next.
03:10All right.
03:11What about me annoys you the most?
03:13That you don't listen to me when I'm talking to you.
03:16That's not gonna change.
03:17Thank you.
03:18All right.
03:19Damon?
03:19The evaluations.
03:21That you're dead to me.
03:23When you fall asleep when we're at dinner,
03:24right there in front of me.
03:28Okay.
03:28What about you, Mark?
03:30Absolutely nothing, Kevin.
03:32You're perfect.
03:33Aw.
03:33He's my best friend.
03:34I'm gonna go over there and kiss him.
03:36He's leaving the show.
03:37Exactly.
03:40Brittany, it is really, really fun.
03:43Thank you so much.
03:43Yeah, very fun.
03:44I appreciate it.
03:45Thank you.
03:45I have an awkward question for you.
03:47Yes.
03:47Yes.
03:48Do you have any sales?
03:49I do.
03:50Is that awkward?
03:51Well, it depends on your answer.
03:53Yeah, so we launched mid-2021.
03:56Lifetime sales is 600K.
03:58Okay, go year by year because things change from during pandemic to post-pandemic.
04:02A pause on that because 600K is absolutely amazing.
04:07Thank you, thank you.
04:07Because I'm sure the margins on this are out of here.
04:10I mean, it's just cars.
04:12You launched 2021.
04:13So May of 2021, that first year we did about 90K in sales.
04:17Wow.
04:18The second year we went up to about 110.
04:19We ended up selling out and we couldn't get our product for six months.
04:23So that was wild.
04:24And then last year we did 250K and this year we're projecting to do about 600K.
04:29Why the jump from 250?
04:30Why are you going to get 600?
04:31How are you going to do that?
04:32Well, exciting news.
04:33Last year we launched at Target in 450 doors.
04:37We now have expanded into 520 doors.
04:39Sold enough that they brought you into more doors?
04:42Yes.
04:43And then also this year we launched at Walmart.
04:45They're in 600 stores currently and we're about to expand to 1,000 doors.
04:49Wow.
04:50What does it cost you to make them and what do you sell them at?
04:53So we retail at $24.99.
04:55It costs us about $2.80 landed.
04:57We also have an expansion pack.
04:59You'll see that in the yellow.
05:01We added another 45 questions.
05:03So that is $12.99 and it costs just under a dollar to make.
05:06Then we have our new game, Build a Bay, which you'll see in the pink over there.
05:09Build a what?
05:09What's that?
05:10Build a day.
05:12We're making a game centered around dating.
05:15It's questioning who your perfect partner is.
05:17It's really exciting.
05:18That's a good, fun idea.
05:19What's your background?
05:20So I'm a theater actor.
05:22That's what I moved to New York to do.
05:24Once 2020 hit, I was at home quarantined alone.
05:27And my brother Brandon and his fiance Jane, we would FaceTime each other almost daily.
05:31We'd have conversations starting with our favorite TV shows.
05:34And then it moved into our deeper topics like our childhoods, our relationships, that sort.
05:38We put a bunch of the questions into a Google Doc.
05:42And we sent it out to our friends and family.
05:44And they loved it.
05:45And we decided, hey, we should make something out of this.
05:48So the brother is the partner in the deal?
05:50Yes.
05:50What percentage does he own?
05:52So we each share 33 and a third.
05:53And who's got the other 33?
05:55We have a third co-founder, Jane.
05:56And what's Jane's contribution?
05:58She's the product designer.
06:00Any of you put up any money?
06:01Yes.
06:01So my brother put in 7,000 and she put in about 3,000.
06:05And how about you?
06:06I put in the sweat equity.
06:07Amazing.
06:08Now how many units have you sold?
06:10About 50,000.
06:1150,000 boxes.
06:13You've got to be really profitable.
06:14We are profitable, indeed.
06:16So last year we did about 100K in profit.
06:18This year we're projecting to do about 250 to 300 in profit.
06:21Good for you.
06:22Wow.
06:22Thank you.
06:23Brittany, you were very nasty to me when you came out here.
06:26But now I really like you because you have sales.
06:28Yes, we do.
06:29And you have the beginning of retail distribution.
06:32You've proven sell through.
06:33That's very hard to do.
06:34Thank you.
06:34I will make you an offer, but I want to take over distribution.
06:37I work with all these retailers.
06:39I can do things for you that you have no idea about in terms of growth.
06:43I'm going to give you the 200,000 for 25%.
06:46I've got big plans for you.
06:48I can't believe what you've done.
06:50Brittany, a friend of mine a few years ago, he was a newspaper reporter.
06:55And he went to a bunch of his friends and asked for $12,000 because he was going to write
06:59a game.
07:00And they asked him, what are you going to do with the money?
07:02And he said, I'm going to go to Spain, drink a lot of wine, and write this game.
07:08Amazing.
07:08And half the friends thought he was an idiot.
07:10The other half gave him the $12,000.
07:14Ten years later, those people that put in $12,000 end up getting between $10 and $20 million.
07:19And that game was Trivial Pursuit.
07:22Incredible.
07:22Ah, amazing.
07:24And I always said, if an opportunity like that with a great person came along, I will not let it
07:31get away.
07:32Wow.
07:32I'm not even going to negotiate with you.
07:34I'll give you the 200,000 for 10%.
07:36I want to go along for this ride.
07:39You got what you asked for.
07:40Oh, my God.
07:40Well, don't count me out.
07:42Don't count me out.
07:43I love it.
07:44Hello.
07:45Are you thinking?
07:45Thank you.
07:46What is there to think about?
07:47Wait, you don't know what I'm going to say, so you should continue thinking.
07:51This is awkward.
07:53Stop.
07:53All of you be quiet.
07:54Quiet in the tank.
07:56My feelings are being burned.
07:57Quiet in the tank.
07:58Brittany.
07:59Hello.
08:00Hello.
08:01Oh, my God.
08:01I'll give you the 200,000, but I will do it for 12%.
08:08Oh, my.
08:10Well.
08:10200,000, 10%.
08:12Let's not listen to the noise.
08:13You're taking the cheapest deals necessarily the best deal.
08:15Let's not make it any more awkward.
08:19You have a deal.
08:21You have a deal.
08:21You have a deal.
08:21There you go.
08:23Yay.
08:24Wow.
08:26That's awesome.
08:27Thank you.
08:27So excited.
08:31Thank you.
08:32I'm going to kill it.
08:41Oh, my gosh.
08:43Amazing.
08:44Amazing.
08:45Robert had a personal story to a previous game that he missed out on.
08:49And so knowing that he was not going to miss out on this opportunity, I felt like he was
08:53going to do whatever it took to make sure that we grow.
08:56And that extra 2%, it comes in handy.
09:00I'm worth it, I feel.
09:02Lori, that was horrible.
09:03I'm glad you feel that.
09:04Lori, you know what?
09:04You know what, Lori?
09:05I'm glad you feel that.
09:06Oh, my God.
09:07You were just like, hold on, hold on.
09:08Check this out.
09:10I promise you, this is going to be a good one.
09:12Wait for this.
09:13I didn't say that.
09:1512%.
09:27Next up is a way to conveniently store a common accessory.
09:40Hello, Sharks.
09:42My name is John Giles.
09:43And I'm Chelsea Giles.
09:45And we are a husband and wife team from Marble Falls, Texas.
09:48We are here today seeking $100,000 in exchange for 5% of our company, DomeDoc.
09:55Sharks, I am a hat guy.
09:58I am always wearing a hat.
09:59So naturally, I own a lot of hats.
10:02The problem is, I just could not find a great way to store all of my ball caps.
10:07His hats were all over the house.
10:10We tried hanging them on the back of a door, but every time you close the door, they all fall
10:15off.
10:16We tried hanging them on a wall, but I've got so many hats, they take up the whole wall.
10:22And if you're not careful, when you try to take one off...
10:24Oh, no!
10:26They fall off!
10:28We tried storing them on a shelf in the closet, but that brought a danger of its own.
10:33Oh, no!
10:34It's a hat linch!
10:41Whoa!
10:43Whoa!
10:44Whoa!
10:44Whoa!
10:45That's when she finally told me...
10:46John, you've got to find a better way to store all these hats!
10:51A happy wife makes a happy life.
10:54So that's when I created DomeDoc.
10:59DomeDoc.
11:04Sharks, it's like a filing system for your hats, and it's easy to use.
11:08If you want to store away the hat that you're wearing, simply fold in the back and set it on
11:13top of the stack.
11:14If you want a hat from the middle or the bottom, no problem.
11:17Just lift up the stack, grab out the one you want, and set the rest back down.
11:23It's that easy.
11:25So, which shark would like to cap it alive on this opportunity?
11:31And hang your hat with DomeDoc.
11:35Good job!
11:36You have some samples in front of you if you want to go ahead and take a look.
11:39I have to admit, it's ingenious. It really is.
11:41I have a lot of hats, because I have a lot of logo hats from various items.
11:45But, $100K for 5%, that's $2 million for a piece of plastic.
11:51Yes, please tell us about sales.
11:53So, we started in 2019, and since then we've had $7.5 million in sales.
11:58What?
11:59Yeah.
11:59$7.5 million.
12:00With this stupid thing?
12:02It's not stupid.
12:03It's so stupid.
12:04It's not stupid anymore.
12:06$7 million.
12:07$7.5 million?
12:08That's right.
12:09So, what do you sell these for, and what do you make them for?
12:11Yeah.
12:11So, we wanted to make them similar to the price of one hat.
12:14They're $24.99.
12:16Oh.
12:16And you make them for $2.91.
12:19Woo!
12:20So, you're making $21 on each one.
12:23Oh my gosh.
12:24There's a lot more that goes into it.
12:25Specifically, on the selling platform we're on online, they have...
12:29Fulfillment fees.
12:30Oh, so you're on Amazon, right?
12:31We're on Amazon.
12:32We're on Amazon, yes.
12:32Do you have any direct sales from your own website?
12:35We had a website that we started in 2020, and that's where we made most of our sales
12:38for the first couple of years, and then we switched to Amazon only.
12:42Because they could fulfill, and you didn't have to deal with it.
12:43Well, you know what?
12:44They're killing you with fees, but you wouldn't get out there without that major machine.
12:48It's true.
12:48What's your net profit on all this?
12:50This year, it'll be like 15% after we pay our sales.
12:53John, can you walk us through what were your sales this year, and what did you net,
12:58and what were your sales last year, and what did you net?
13:00Sure.
13:00Let me just start at the beginning.
13:01So, that first year, 2019, was $136,000.
13:05March of 2020, we launched our website, and-
13:08Perfect timing.
13:09Perfect timing.
13:10People were at home, shopping.
13:12Why did you sell that year, Chelsea?
13:13By the end of 2020, we were at just under a million dollars.
13:17Wow, that's great.
13:182021, what'd you make?
13:182021, $1.4 million.
13:2122.
13:2122 was $2.1 million.
13:23Wow.
13:24Woo!
13:24And then the next year was 2023, that was $2.08 million.
13:28So flat, almost, and year to date?
13:31Year to date, we are at $885,000.
13:34And so we're expecting to end about $1.4, $1.5.
13:38Why down?
13:39Why?
13:40We were hoping you would ask that.
13:41Oh, I'm good.
13:42I think I know the answer, and I don't want to hear it.
13:45It's all of the knockoffs that have come up.
13:47You know what?
13:48Seriously, I'm sitting here going, don't say it's the knockoffs.
13:51It's the knockoffs.
13:52But here's the beautiful thing, though.
13:53We have a utility patent, and we have been enforcing it.
13:56We've taken down over 100 listings already.
13:58As they come up, we report them.
14:01It takes a while.
14:01I got to tell you, I think FUBU today, we've done about $10 billion in sales.
14:06I think the counterfeiters have done $40.
14:08Yeah.
14:09Ouch.
14:09Tell us about you.
14:11What were you doing before this?
14:12So this has been such a life changer for me.
14:14Like, my family was so poor growing up.
14:16I mean, I remember living in a soup kitchen and hotels and with family.
14:21During that time, I saw these people who had businesses and stuff, and I thought,
14:24these are special people who know things that I don't know and can do things that I can't do.
14:28And as it turns out, everybody is just figuring it out as they go.
14:31And so that was a beautiful realization for me.
14:33It has just been an awesome journey.
14:35Yeah.
14:36So we got married when we were 21 years old.
14:38We were still in college and never thought we would be doing anything like this.
14:42And it was actually really funny as we started and we're out in the shop at night, you know,
14:47putting the kids to bed and we were watching Shark Tank.
14:50And we would stop and we, you know, we'd pause it.
14:53Someone would ask a question.
14:54We're like, what is that?
14:55We're Googling.
14:56Some little definitions come up on the screen when someone says robots or ACOTS or whatever.
15:01And so we actually learned a ton about business in the early days from Shark Tank.
15:05You are our education.
15:06So let's get back to the business for a second because everybody up here has experienced a knockoff.
15:11My case, it was Drainwig and another one called Illumable.
15:14And we litigated till the cows came home and it didn't make a single difference.
15:19These guys never go away.
15:21Right.
15:22What's the plan?
15:22What's the plan you have?
15:23The plan, we want to get into retail.
15:25So we're in one major sports retail store right now.
15:28Who's that?
15:28Shields.
15:29And they constantly reorder.
15:31So we've really been focusing on the online sales and just done a little bit in retail.
15:35And now we're kind of seeing the shift where we want to get into stores.
15:39Because there you can fight the knockoffs.
15:41Exactly.
15:42We can control the brand and the experience.
15:44Guys, let me get started.
15:45Look, what you've accomplished is great.
15:47Thanks.
15:47Right?
15:47I just don't see this as being a big enough business for me.
15:50So for those reasons, I'm out.
15:51But congrats, man.
15:52It's been a great ride.
15:53Thank you for your time.
15:53Really appreciate your time.
15:54Yeah, John, I appreciate you saying all the nice things about Shark Tank.
15:57I hate when people tell me there's no opportunity left.
16:02I mean, you can make it.
16:04It's hard.
16:05Yeah.
16:05But this is still the greatest country in the world to make it.
16:08You'll figure it out.
16:09But it's a single skew product with two amazing entrepreneurs.
16:14I wish you all the best, but I'm out.
16:16Thank you very much, Robert.
16:17I really appreciate that.
16:18Guys, having lived this almost four times over the years of Shark Tank, you have to knock
16:23yourself off under a different brand.
16:25So you're going to have to put this up on Amazon at $9.95 under whatever brand you want
16:30to call it, same exact product.
16:31Whatever they price it at, you have to hit that price that week.
16:35Guys, I wish you the best.
16:36I'm out.
16:37Thank you for the feedback.
16:38Thank you so much, Kevin.
16:39That's great.
16:39You know, I think you need to hire one of those companies that will take all the knockoffs
16:45down.
16:45It's your baby.
16:46You created it.
16:48You love it.
16:49But unfortunately, everybody cheats and steals it from you.
16:54I'm just worried to take this ride, so I wish you good luck, but I'm out.
17:00Thank you, Lori.
17:00Appreciate your advice.
17:03Damon.
17:03Damon.
17:05I absolutely love your story.
17:06This is why I think we all do the show.
17:08You've done all the hard work.
17:10Should I give you an offer and...
17:13Yes.
17:13You should.
17:14Yes.
17:15I believe in the retail point because you won't have knockoffs there.
17:19You can easily fight that.
17:20We just don't have connections to...
17:22No, no.
17:22And I know the Bass Pro, the Liz guys, you know.
17:26All right.
17:27$100,000 for 25%.
17:30Did you say $25,000?
17:39Did you say $25,000?
17:44Four sharks are out.
17:45Chelsea and John have an offer on the table from Damon for their hat storage accessory,
17:50don't duck, but he wants a much bigger stake than the 5% they came in offering.
17:55Did you say $25,000?
17:57Oh, yeah.
17:58Wow.
17:58Because it has to be worth my time.
18:00So, that imputes a value of about $400,000 for our whole business.
18:05Which, I mean, we've sold $1.4 million.
18:08So, I've got to push back a little bit.
18:10Let's...
18:10How about we come to, um...
18:13It's always a problem when there's only one offer in the Shark Tank because, you know,
18:18they smell blood in the water.
18:20But we've got a counter.
18:21How about $100,000 for 10%?
18:26I'll do it $100,000 for 20%.
18:29Ken, that's a great offer.
18:30And thank you so much.
18:31All right.
18:32Just to squeeze his head, I'll do it for 15%.
18:34Okay.
18:35What are you...
18:35There's two eyes right there.
18:37What happened?
18:37I don't know.
18:38I don't know.
18:39I just...
18:39When I see greed, I just...
18:42I'm offended.
18:43Okay.
18:43So, that's gonna be my question, is maybe you can help us to understand what you see
18:48for the company and where you could take it?
18:50Two things.
18:51Yeah.
18:51Number one, you're gonna knock yourself off.
18:52Number two, we're gonna find a national distributor for the major counts.
18:55My team will help you with that.
18:56I'll do it for 15%.
18:58And I can't stand this savage greed when I see it.
19:01I can't...
19:02I'm not that kind of shark.
19:04That's why they come in so wonderful.
19:05Now, you understand.
19:06You do understand.
19:07You're witnessing him lying right there.
19:09No, no, no.
19:09What I just realized...
19:10That's where you're gonna go as a partner.
19:12No, no, no, no.
19:13He's lying to you.
19:14He's lying to you right now.
19:15It's called Dome Doc, and I have the Dome of Desire.
19:18I think we put these two together.
19:20Dome of Desire.
19:20You know, the Lord only made a few perfectly shaped heads in this world.
19:22Yes.
19:23And that is not wonderful.
19:24And that is not wonderful.
19:24He covered up with hair.
19:25What are you gonna do, guys?
19:29Kevin, we would love to do a deal with you.
19:32Thank you so much.
19:34Are you kidding me?
19:35Thank you so much.
19:36Thank you.
19:37Thank you.
19:38Thank you.
19:39Congratulations, guys.
19:40Good job.
19:42Good job, Kevin.
19:42Thank you so much.
19:43Great couple, bad judge of character.
19:47Yes.
19:48That's gonna be awesome.
19:50It's gonna take...
19:51Oh, my gosh.
19:52All it takes is the simplest idea, and you can change your life if you just work hard and pursue
19:58it.
19:59It's not about being overly smart or overly talented.
20:03If you just persist, anybody can make it.
20:06I lost the deal to Kevin.
20:08That's the first right there.
20:09When anybody lose to Kevin, it stinks.
20:12Just say no to greed.
20:16In season six, Justin Fenchel, Amy Stedman, and Brad Schultz made a deal with Mark Cuban for their ready-to
20:23-drink cocktail company, Beatbox Beverages.
20:25You guys don't sell wine.
20:27Right.
20:27You guys sell fun.
20:28Let's see what they're up to now.
20:30It's hard to believe it's been a decade since we were on Shark Tank.
20:33When we pitched, we had one full-time employee.
20:35Today, we have 210 full-time employees.
20:38To keep up with the insane demand, we brought on two new state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities that can
20:44produce 100 million Beatboxes a year.
20:46We are in about 100 stores in the state of Texas.
20:48Today, we're in over 120,000 accounts across all 50 states, including nationwide 7-Eleven and over 1,000 Walmarts.
20:55Mark told us on the show, what's going to grow this brand is word of mouth.
20:59Since Shark Tank, we've done over 1,000 music festivals.
21:02We're sponsoring the Professional Bull Riding League.
21:04Anywhere where there's fun going on, that's where we target.
21:0710 years ago, we were doing $250K in sales.
21:10And today, we're over $350 million in lifetime sales.
21:15To this day, we have not really advertised at all.
21:18It's all been word of mouth.
21:19That's the sign of a great product.
21:21I invested in Beatbox because the guys were fun.
21:23The product was amazing, and I thought they could pull it off.
21:26They went from struggling in the first couple of years
21:28to being the fastest-growing seltzer alcohol in the country and maybe even the world.
21:32They keep on just growing and growing and growing, so it's great to see the numbers all the time.
21:36We've partnered with somebody that we think you know.
21:39Really?
21:40Hello!
21:42What's up, big fella?
21:44How are you?
21:44I was shocked to see Shaq come in.
21:46Obviously, we've known each other and been friends for a long time.
21:49So, what are you going to do?
21:50I'm going to do what I always do.
21:52Tearing it up.
21:52Have fun.
21:53Sell, sell, sell.
21:54Sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, man.
21:55It's a great match because the Beatbox Beverage guys are great business people.
21:59They're dominating the industry.
22:00Now with Shaq, we're going for number one.
22:02Right, big fella.
22:03That's right, one more one.
22:04We're going for number one.
22:05He's always messing with me.
22:08This isn't your typical celebrity endorsement deal because Shaq's a partner in Beatbox.
22:12Everybody knows that Shaq is an NBA Hall of Famer.
22:14He's also an incredibly successful businessman and entrepreneur.
22:19But what makes this partnership so special and real is the fact that he's a world famous DJ known as
22:25DJ Diesel.
22:26Hands up!
22:27These last 10 years have been an incredible ride.
22:30I mean, our lives have completely changed.
22:32Our focus and our thanks go to our team and our customers that make this happen.
22:37From getting a deal with Mark to almost going out of business to now partnering with Shaquille O'Neal.
22:41This journey has been nothing short of amazing and we are so grateful to be a part of it.
22:47Beatbox is up!
23:01Next up is a more efficient way to feed a popular pet.
23:14Hey Sharks, I'm Eric Dedrickson from West Bridgewater, Massachusetts and I'm seeking only $300,000 for 10% of my
23:22company, Riverbend Resources.
23:25Sharks, we all love our dogs and cats, but most people are surprised to hear that the number three most
23:31popular pet is...
23:34The chicken.
23:35Around 10% of all American households have backyard chickens.
23:40No!
23:40And we've been feeding them all wrong.
23:42These traditional old feeders here are just messy and useless.
23:46You're constantly filling them, can't leave them outside.
23:49They're a buffet for wild birds, squirrels and other animals.
23:53And the food is always covered in feathers, chicken poop, they're gross.
23:58And this is how you have to clean all that crap off.
24:00Or shake it off like that.
24:02They're junk.
24:04Our product, the Poultry Pro Feeder, solves all those problems.
24:10This innovative feeding system allows you to turn any plastic container into a no mess, no waste, high capacity, weatherproof
24:20feeder in just minutes.
24:22Let me show you here on the screen.
24:25Using the included hole saw, drill three inches up from the bottom of your five gallon bucket, trash barrel or
24:30bin, hand tighten the feeder ports, and that's it.
24:33You're done.
24:34Since the chickens got to stick their heads inside to eat, there's virtually no mess, which is what attracts rodents
24:40and other animals in the first place.
24:42It's the best way to feed, guaranteed.
24:45And since having plenty of fresh clean water is always a major concern, we also created the Poultry Pro Waterer.
24:53This amazing new waterer is engineered for easy carrying and can hold up to five gallons of water just using
24:59a standard bucket.
25:00And with our patented venting technology, you can connect a garden hose directly to the back for a self-filling
25:07and self-cleaning option.
25:09So, sharks, don't chicken out on this great deal.
25:12Who's ready to rule the roost with Riverbend Resources?
25:15I am not buying that 10% of homes have a chicken as a pet.
25:19Yeah, I don't know about that one.
25:20About 85 million chickens.
25:22I don't know if you know this, but there's one shark who actually has a lot of chickens.
25:26Is that true, Damon?
25:28That's you.
25:28Damon, what do you think about this product?
25:30I think it's genius.
25:31How do you feed your chickens?
25:33Same way, the same feeder right there, but mine's also, my chicken's also free-roaming.
25:39The whole purpose that I have chickens and guinea hens is to eat ticks and bugs on the property.
25:44Don't the coyotes eat them?
25:45No, that's why I bought donkeys, so the donkeys scare the coyotes.
25:49And who protects the donkeys?
25:50Junior and George with shotguns.
25:52The shotguns.
25:54How many donkeys do you have?
25:55Two.
25:56Deebo and Felicia.
26:00And what are your sales?
26:02Lifetime sales right now are about $3 million.
26:04That's not bad.
26:05This year alone, we've already done a million and we're not forecasted to do two.
26:09Wow, good for you.
26:10And what are your margins?
26:10We make them for about $5.
26:12You make them for $5?
26:13They retail for about $30.
26:14Wow.
26:15Each little snout is $30?
26:16No.
26:17The kit comes with three and the whole size.
26:20Yes, sir.
26:21You're selling this direct to chicken owners?
26:23Yes, sir.
26:24Okay.
26:24Online on Amazon.
26:26And we just got flooded with knockoffs.
26:29Let me ask you.
26:29Wait, wait.
26:30Flooded with knockoffs.
26:31And then what did you do?
26:32You have a patent on this?
26:33I have three design patents.
26:35Okay, so you got flooded with knockoffs.
26:38Then what happens?
26:38I pivoted and went to retail.
26:40Oh, there you go.
26:41We're pretty much in every major chain store in the country.
26:43Are there some level of competition?
26:46There's literally hundreds of knockoffs.
26:47And we've filed a federal temporary restraining order, which we got.
26:52We're suing in blocks of 100.
26:55Wow.
26:55And right now we're doing 100 at a time.
26:58That's a lot of knockoffs.
26:59I like eggs, but I'm not the right partner for you, so I'm sorry.
27:03I'm out.
27:04Yeah, great product, but I can't add anything to this.
27:08But I do love the chickens.
27:09I'm out.
27:11Yeah, I'm riding the same boat.
27:12There's a lot of questions and I'm curious, right?
27:15But this is not an industry that I have even the slightest clue.
27:19You should be proud of what you have accomplished.
27:20But for those reasons, I'm out.
27:22Sorry.
27:23I appreciate you.
27:24Thank you.
27:24I thought it was going to be like no sales and just...
27:28I thought you were a crazy chicken, Eric.
27:29That's impressive.
27:30That's what I thought.
27:30No, no, no.
27:31But it's really rare that you get hundreds of knockoffs,
27:34which tells me it's probably a pretty big market.
27:37It's huge.
27:38I can't relate to it because I don't have any chickens.
27:41That's the problem.
27:41Although I think you have one shark that has some chickens,
27:44but this is not my deal.
27:45I'm out.
27:47You're the guy I was counting on.
27:49I saw you all.
27:50I love it, but it's...
27:51With your peahens and your chickens.
27:52You know this.
27:52You know this.
27:53Yeah, I do.
27:55Damon, do you want to wet your beak?
27:57I know I come off as maybe a kind of unassuming guy,
28:00regular guy, this and that, but I'm an animal.
28:05I get stuck, Doc.
28:06I get stuck, Doc.
28:08Good for you.
28:10I love that.
28:11I'm a businessman, a veteran, a dad.
28:13I grind.
28:13The last corporate job I had, I went in on a Friday afternoon
28:16and I asked my boss, I said,
28:18hey, do you mind if I take off 30 minutes early?
28:20And I think I had to listen to like a 30-minute speech
28:23about, oh, yeah, you know, you're definitely deserving of it,
28:25but everyone else is going to ask me this and that.
28:27I mean, it was soul-crushing.
28:29And I was like, that was it.
28:30I was like, not anymore.
28:31So I planned my exit strategy.
28:33And so I was out feeding my chickens one morning
28:35and I had made these for years.
28:37So I know they work.
28:39I went out one morning and the bucket was cracked.
28:40And I was, I picked it up and I was like,
28:42I got to make another one of these things.
28:43And I said, why don't they just make it so you can,
28:47boom, this is what we got to do.
28:48So how are you just going to blow the product up
28:51so it doesn't matter about the people knocking you off
28:54and people are going to ask for you by name?
28:56We haven't even done any marketing
28:59or any kind of campaigns online.
29:01We're OG, you know.
29:02So we've got a much better product,
29:04a higher quality product, made in the USA.
29:07Is the OG.
29:08And off of the two million, what will you net?
29:12Right now we've got a net profit between 25 and 40%.
29:17Wow.
29:18So what do you want the $300,000 for?
29:20I'm learning way too much the hard way.
29:22I mean, I'm on my second patent attorney.
29:24I'm on my second manufacturer.
29:26I'm paying double for everything.
29:29When I call the buyers, you know,
29:30if I have a partner like you, they're going to listen.
29:32I'll give you the $300,000 for 25%.
29:37That's a big number, Dan.
29:38That's a big number.
29:39He's a big shark.
29:40Okay.
29:41Well, look, you asked that shopping list of stuff you wanted.
29:44I mean, I know, I know this.
29:45I know the market in Europe is huge.
29:47Canada, those we have protection and patents.
29:50What you're asking me for to do is not only walk you in the doors,
29:53but it's to help operate the business.
29:55And that's why I'm in this chair and I love it.
29:58Damn it.
30:00I'm putting my best foot forward here.
30:02Will you do 20%?
30:07I don't think that's a huge ask.
30:10You know what?
30:10I got to say.
30:11Absolutely.
30:12Let's go.
30:13Yay.
30:14I like this whole thing where you act like you're so humble
30:17and you're, you know.
30:18He's an animal.
30:19He is an animal.
30:20He really is.
30:20The hardest working people out here, man, wear boots, man.
30:23Thank you, son.
30:24Congratulations.
30:25Good job.
30:25Well done.
30:27Thank you very much.
30:35Here comes the rooster, baby.
30:37I've made a lot of mistakes.
30:38I've learned a lot of hard lessons.
30:40And, you know, with Damon on board, we're going to rule the roost.
30:56Next up is a business that fulfills many childhood dreams.
31:10Hey, Sharks.
31:11My name is Jacob Robinson.
31:12I'm from Katy, Texas, and I'm the co-founder of Dig World.
31:15I'm here today seeking $200,000 for 10% in my business.
31:19Sharks, let me take you all the way back to your childhood.
31:22You're riding in the back of your parents' old jalopy.
31:24You're gazing out that window, and behold, the magic land of a construction site.
31:29Your imagination starts to run wild, dreaming of getting in one of those excavators
31:33and digging up some dirt.
31:34Well, Sharks, it's time to turn those childhood dreams into a reality.
31:38Introducing Dig World, the construction theme park that gives everyone the opportunity to operate real construction equipment.
31:45Check it out.
31:46At Dig World, even kids can safely drive and operate full-size construction equipment.
31:52Oh, wow.
31:52Real excavators.
31:54Kids can get behind the controls and they can dig up some dirt.
31:56They get to drive full-size skid steers and even utility terrain vehicles around windy tracks and so much more.
32:03All with added safeguards, of course.
32:05Oh, so cool.
32:05There's no simulators here, Sharks.
32:07We offer hands-on experiences for the whole family.
32:10Dig World is the ultimate family-friendly theme park where everyone can build their hearts out,
32:15allowing us to create memories that last a lifetime.
32:18So, Sharks, who's ready to dig up some of that nostalgia and pave the way for Dig World to become
32:23a national brain?
32:24Mark, did you not do a deal on the show?
32:26Yeah, Extreme Sandbox.
32:28Extreme Sandbox.
32:28Great company.
32:29Completely different model.
32:30What's the difference?
32:31So, Extreme Sandbox is geared towards adults only.
32:33Big equipment, typically one-time experiences, a couple hundred dollars per person for the experience.
32:39You smash a car, that kind of deal.
32:41Dig World, on the other hand.
32:42Which is very cool.
32:43That is very cool.
32:44Dig World, on the other hand, is a family-friendly theme park.
32:47As long as you're 32 inches tall or higher, you can do everything.
32:51Also, Damon Kenko.
32:53Walk me through the model.
32:54Everybody will be charged $24.99.
32:56Flat rate.
32:57Flat rate.
32:57$24.99 to get in.
32:59That's all?
32:59That's it.
33:00Wow.
33:00Am I there for how long?
33:01So, typically it's about a two-hour experience.
33:02You can stay longer if you want.
33:04Two hours for $24?
33:05Yes, right.
33:06And so, we have excavators where we dig dirt.
33:08We have excavators where we play a lot of different games.
33:10We have you pick up different objects, as you saw in the video.
33:12We have a large excaputter where you putt a large golf ball into a neck.
33:16You drive skid steers, UTVs.
33:18We are a standard theme park.
33:19We have your food and beverage.
33:20What was your background, Jacob, before?
33:22What did you do for a little bit?
33:23Yeah, so, I'm a serial entrepreneur.
33:25The last nine years, I've built and sold a large commercial cleaning company in Texas.
33:28And then really started this idea in 2019.
33:31Thought we'd raise some money.
33:33Thought it'd be a great idea, right?
33:34Until you're sitting in somebody's office and you're like, hey, let me tell you a great idea.
33:38I'm going to build a theme park.
33:39And they're like, okay, sounds great.
33:40And then they're like, hey, I'm going to take a three-year-old and I'm going to let him drive
33:44a skid steer by himself.
33:45Get out of my office.
33:46And so, it took a little bit longer.
33:48And then we finally completed the raise in 21, built it, opened it in March of 22.
33:52And Jacob, how much does it cost to set one up?
33:55We're about to start the franchising process.
33:57And so, we have an opportunity to franchise and corporately own our parks.
34:01So, we'll go down that route.
34:03Roughly $2.5 million can get the park open, inclusive of equipment.
34:06And then you're leasing the equipment on that one.
34:09No, sir.
34:09You're buying it.
34:10We bought the equipment.
34:11So, I'm assuming you are buying it rather than leasing it because you have to fit that so that it's
34:17safe.
34:17Yes, ma'am.
34:18For children.
34:18That's right.
34:19So, you're changing the equipment around a bit.
34:21That's exactly right.
34:21Safety is obviously number one at Dig World.
34:23A close second is fun.
34:25But safety is number one.
34:26All of our machines are outfitted with our proprietary technology.
34:30Jacob, how did you think of this idea?
34:32Yeah, thank you for asking.
34:33So, my wife and I, we have three amazing kids.
34:35My nine-year-old son, Pierce, was born in 2015.
34:39Happy, healthy little boy.
34:40Like a lot of other boys, he loves construction equipment and garbage trucks and dump trucks
34:43and really anything in that category.
34:45In 2017, when he was almost two years old, on a Saturday morning, my wife walked into his room
34:49and found him unconscious in his crib.
34:52We rushed him to the hospital.
34:54They weren't sure he was going to make it.
34:55We learned he contracted bacterial meningitis.
34:57He was in a coma 12 days.
34:59We were in the hospital 75 days.
35:00And when we left, we left with a different little boy.
35:03Pierce is now nonverbal.
35:06He's epileptic.
35:07He's deaf in both ears.
35:08And he's in a wheelchair.
35:09But, but, Pierce still has a joy like no other.
35:12And that boy still loves construction equipment.
35:14And so, my wife and I, we wanted to do something that brought families together.
35:17We learned the importance of family during that time.
35:19And we said, hey, what sounds like a super easy idea?
35:22Let's build a theme park.
35:23Right?
35:23Because that sounds like an easy idea.
35:24That's really easy.
35:26That's right.
35:27The other thing I just wanted to say thank you real quick is when we were in the hospital,
35:30those 75 days, every night, my wife and I, we'd watch Shark Tank to just completely check
35:34out mentally and kind of forget what happened during that day.
35:37It means a lot to me.
35:38So, thank you for letting me be here today to tell our story.
35:40Well, here's to Pierce.
35:41I hope he's doing great.
35:42Thank you.
35:43Thank you.
35:43How long have you been in business, Jacob?
35:45Two and a half years.
35:45One location.
35:46One location.
35:47And what are your sales?
35:48Walk us through the revenue on that location last year.
35:50Yeah.
35:51Last year, that was our first calendar year, we did $1.2 million.
35:55Wow.
35:55Make any money on that?
35:56We broke even on that one last year.
35:58Sorry.
35:58What will you do this year?
35:59This year, we're on track to do a little over $1.5 million.
36:02So, you think you'll make money?
36:03We'll do a 26% EBITDA on that and net about $350,000.
36:07Okay.
36:07Let me ask you a question if I'm a franchisee.
36:09How much do I have to spend to get set up?
36:12So, first off, you'll pay a $100,000 franchise fee to us.
36:15$100,000?
36:16Okay.
36:17And the reason there is because we're not trying to sell 300 units, right?
36:20We're not trying to be a trampoline park that you see all over town.
36:23We really only want to go one, maybe two per market across the country.
36:27$100,000.
36:27What do I get for that?
36:28Yep.
36:28So, you get that market.
36:29At that point, obviously, we'll give you our playbook.
36:31We'll give you the whole thing, our architects, our technology behind it.
36:35We'll tell you what equipment to buy, where to buy it.
36:37Depending upon which version of the park you would like to build, you're going to need
36:40to raise anywhere from $2.5 million.
36:42You could raise up to $5.5 million if you choose.
36:44Whoa.
36:44Big CapEx.
36:45Big CapEx.
36:46Big CapEx.
36:46It is.
36:47So, then I'm going to take a total of 7% fees, 5% royalty to me, and then 2
36:52% marketing.
36:525% royalty.
36:52Here's my thing.
36:53I love the idea, but I think that the challenge is you have to find a good piece of property,
36:58but this year in Southern California, it's too hot, it's windy, it's raining, and you've
37:05got to raise a good amount of money.
37:06I just don't think this one's for me, so I'm out.
37:09Appreciate it.
37:10Look, I love the idea.
37:11I love fun.
37:12I love any business that sells fun.
37:14What I'm struggling with is how many franchisees can raise $2.5 million today?
37:21I have 28 interviewed and vetted people that want a franchise today.
37:25Wow.
37:25That can afford the $2.5 million.
37:27Yes, sir.
37:27And want to execute on it.
37:28However, I want to make sure that we're all on the same page, that while franchising is
37:32the avenue that we see right now, we also still have the ability to go corporate-owned
37:36and expand.
37:38So why haven't you already?
37:39I think that's what we're currently doing right now.
37:41I think we want to get the product to completely check every single box.
37:44Also, I'm not trying to open up 30 franchises tomorrow, right?
37:48Slow and steady growth is how we get there.
37:49And how much of the company do you own right now?
37:51Over here in the franchising entity that we're asking money from today, right now I own 90%.
37:55So what you're asking for money for today does not include the first park?
37:58So what I'm asking for is another LLC over here that my investors own 5% of.
38:04A business partner owns 5%, I own 90%.
38:05Jacob, you've got to throw the original deal in the deal.
38:08But isn't that what he's offering?
38:09There's no equity in Dig World number one.
38:11That option is on the table.
38:12Oh.
38:12That's a different cash.
38:13I thought you just said it was.
38:15I thought it was.
38:15We get no equity in Dig World number one?
38:18Nope.
38:18So what am I buying?
38:19This is it right here.
38:44You're buying the upside.
38:47You're buying the franchise.
38:48That's right, you're buying the upside.
38:50That's right, you're buying the upside of where we're going to take this thing and become a national brand.
38:52Jacob, you know that moment in a Shark Tank pitch where everything's going great?
38:56I know.
38:56O que foi que foi esse momento em esse pitch?
39:01Quando ele disse que ele não belong to Dig World 1.
39:03Quando eu descobri que eu não estou ganhando nenhum parto de Dig World 1.
39:08Eu estava tão into it.
39:10Eu estava, tipo, checking out o outro shark.
39:40Não tente.
39:40Então, nós ramos 2.6 milhões de dólares entre 30 pessoas.
39:44E eles levam para o dinheiro?
39:45Isso, estamos fazendo distribuição.
39:47Eles são passados em investimentos.
39:49Não é muito ruim.
39:50Não é muito bom.
39:52Listo, você fez algo total no topo.
39:54Obrigado.

40:40Dig World, também.
