00:00At the Cannes Film Festival, there was a film that caused a huge scandal, and in fact, it...
00:03was rewarded.
00:04The festival has started and I'm still at home.
00:07And yes, Dailymotion didn't invite me. You can get your tissues ready.
00:10In 1996, there was a screening of a film that immediately shocked a portion of the audience.
00:16It's Crash by David Cronenberg.
00:18And honestly, many viewers were completely unprepared for what they were about to see.
00:22The film tells the story of several people who develop an extremely unhealthy fascination with car accidents.
00:28More specifically, the characters associate car crashes with adrenaline, danger, and desire.
00:35So throughout the film, you watch people who are obsessed with collisions. It's very healthy.
00:39And in Cannes, the reactions exploded immediately.
00:42Some critics are calling it a dangerous film.
00:45Others leave the screening.
00:46But at the same time, another part of the public already considers the film to be a major work by Cronenberg.
00:52The scandal became so enormous that the Cannes Film Festival finally awarded him a special jury prize for his
00:58its boldness and originality.
00:59And in the United States, there are many people who are asking for this film to be released.
01:04be limited.
