Perfect Crown Episode 11 - 12 Spoilers & Pre-Release
Transcript
00:02When news of the king's planned abdication spreads, the queen mother secretly hopes Ian
00:07will refuse the throne. To her, his ascension feels painfully unfair. She sacrifices her dream
00:14of becoming a pianist and abandons her love for Ian in order to marry the late king, Ian's brother,
00:20for the sake of the crown. But now, with Ian poised to become king instead, all of those
00:25sacrifices seem meaningless to her. What she never realizes, however, is that although she loves
00:32Ian deeply, Ian has always loved Hee-Joo since their school days and has only ever seen the
00:37queen mother as a friend. With that, Ian is set to receive the king's final edict, the decree that
00:43will officially make him the new ruler. Everything went according to Ian's plan when he asked the king
00:49to let him take back his throne, and the king agreed. The king understands all too well what
00:55was taken from Ian. On the day their father died, he overheard their parents into a conversation
01:00and learned the truth. Because of this, he cannot resent Ian. He also realizes that his mother had
01:07been lying to him, that the throne was never truly meant for him, and that he only sat on it
01:12because
01:13of her ambitions and his desire not to disappoint her. While those around Ian celebrate his impending
01:19ascension, Ian himself chooses to spend the remaining thirty minutes before the abdication ceremony
01:24meeting Zhang Wu, who requests to see him. At the same time, Hee-Joo is on her way to her
01:31father's
01:31house to explain the sudden change in the succession and Ian's rise to the throne when she hears an
01:37explosion. Fear immediately grips her. Terrified that Ian might be involved, she rushes toward the
01:43source of the blast. When Hie-Jung informs her that Ian is in the council hall, a place he should
01:49never be,
01:50as he is supposed to be heading to the throne hall. Hee-Joo does not hesitate. Ignoring the danger,
01:57she runs into the burning building, desperately calling Ian's name. Inside, she finds him unconscious.
02:04She hurries to his side, frantically trying to wake him, but Ian's body is too heavy for her to carry
02:09alone. Soon, Hyun, now serving as her aide, enters the blazing hall to help her rescue him. Looking at Ian
02:18fainting, and since Hee-Joo can still make her way inside, it means that when the fire happened, Ian was
02:24already unconscious. This leads to the conclusion that someone knocked him down and later set the hall
02:30on fire, which trapped him inside. As the fire burned, carbon monoxide accumulated, and with him
02:37already fainted, he inhaled it, which worsened his condition. Hyun carries Ian back to his chambers,
02:44while the royal physician is urgently summoned. Though Ian's condition is eventually stabilized,
02:50he remains unconscious. Hee-Joo appears physically unharmed after helping rescue him,
02:55yet her reddened eyes betray her fear and grief. She stays by Ian's side, consumed by worry.
03:02As news of another fire within the palace spreads, rumors quickly spiral out of control.
03:09Reports reveal that Grand Prince Ian is found unconscious, and before long, whispers begin
03:14circulating both inside and outside the palace that he has died. Hearing those rumors leaves Hee-Joo
03:21speechless. All she can do is pray for Ian to regain consciousness and prove to the world that he is
03:27still alive. Even while trying to continue her duties, she cannot suppress the growing fear of
03:33losing him. Though she visits him constantly, there is little she can do except wait helplessly.
03:39In that painful uncertainty, Hee-Joo finally understands Ian's feelings. Just as he has always feared
03:46losing her, she now realizes how deeply she loves him and how unbearable the thought of losing him has
03:52become. Neither of them wants to lose the other. As Hee-Joo wonders who the culprit behind the accident
04:00is, she becomes suspicious of Lord and Pyong. However, when Zhang-Wu visits Ian to check on his
04:06condition, Hye-Jong informs Hee-Joo that Ian was at the council hall because Zhang-Wu had asked to meet
04:12him there at that time. She also realizes that Zhang-Wu had not yet arrived at the appointed time for
04:18the
04:18king's final edict. As a result, Hee-Joo questions Zhang-Wu about what truly happened that day and how
04:25Ian ended up trapped there alone while Zhang-Wu remained unharmed. Although Zhang-Wu is able to
04:31give her a reasonable explanation, the incident leaves Hee-Joo deeply suspicious of him. This makes
04:37her wonder whether Zhang-Wu would really go to such lengths to separate them. When Zhang-Wu places his
04:43rosary upon the grave of his father, remembered as the greatest prime minister in the kingdom's
04:48history, it symbolizes the moment he abandons his principles in pursuit of Hee-Joo. Just as he once
04:54told Ian that he cannot be like Ian and make decisions simply based on whether he finds something
04:59agreeable or not, he remarked that if he did so, the country would collapse. However, Zhang-Wu continues
05:07pursuing his personal goals, which creates the current chaos. Having chosen this path,
05:12Zhang-Wu seems unlikely to turn back. Before the accident took place, he secretly meets with Lord
05:18and Pyong. Emerging from the shadows, he appears transformed, darker, colder, as though he fully
05:25embraces the darkness within him and allies himself with Lord and Pyong to prevent Ian from
05:31ascending the throne. Even his clothing reflects this transformation, gradually shifting into darker
05:37shades of black, symbolizing his descent into darkness. Zhang-Wu wants to stop Ian from becoming
05:43king so that Ian will no longer have the power to protect Hee-Joo. By doing so, he hopes Hee
05:49-Joo
05:49will eventually turn to him instead. In the past, Hee-Joo did not choose Zhang-Wu because his position and
05:55authority were only temporary, while Ian, as a royal, would always remain in his position.
06:01What Zhang-Wu fails to realize, however, is that even when Hee-Joo once decided to divorce Ian,
06:07she still did not choose him. And now that she has finally acknowledged her true feelings for Ian,
06:14it becomes even more impossible for her to ever turn to Zhang-Wu. By choosing to cover up for Lord
06:19In-Pyong, who is behind the poisoning incident, Zhang-Wu gives Lord In-Pyong the perfect opportunity
06:25to use him without having to dirty his own hands. With Ian still unconscious, Zhang-Wu quickly moves
06:32on to the next stage of his plan. He meets with the Queen Mother and urges her to become the
06:37next
06:38regent, while Ian remains unable to rule. According to him, it is only fitting for her to step forward
06:45during this crisis. Though surprised by the suggestion, the Queen Mother begins to see it
06:50as an opportunity. However, the possibility of her becoming regent lasts only briefly, as Ian soon
06:57regains consciousness. The moment Ian wakes up, Hee-Jung quickly informs Hee-Joo, and she immediately
07:04rushes to see him. But before she can reach his chambers, someone suddenly pulls her into an embrace.
07:09It is Ian, unable to wait any longer to see her. The two spend a quiet moment holding each other,
07:16finally able to breathe in relief as they talk about everything that has happened.
07:21Meanwhile, upon hearing that Ian has awakened, Zhang-Wu immediately changes his plans. Now,
07:27he intends to settle the unfinished matters once and for all. Ian, however, has no intention of remaining
07:33passive while his enemies continue operating in the shadows. He confronts those responsible for
07:39spreading rumors of his death, appearing before everyone in perfect condition, and proving that
07:44he is alive. Soon after, an official investigation begins. The investigation ultimately leads to the
07:52arrest of a royal guard believed to be connected to the incident. News of the arrest quickly spreads
07:58across the country, fueling fear, rumors, and growing speculation among the public. However, Hee-Joo does not
08:06believe the guard acted alone. Blowing up the council hall could not have been the work of a single
08:11person, and she becomes convinced that a larger conspiracy is involved. Hee-Joo's suspicions continue
08:18to grow as she repeatedly catches sight of Zhang-Wu entering and leaving the palace under mysterious
08:23circumstances, often meeting privately with the Queen Mother. The secrecy surrounding their encounters
08:29leaves her deeply unsettled, especially as tensions within the palace continue to rise.
08:35Because of this, Hee-Joo asks Ian whether he truly trusts Zhang-Wu. Though Ian tries to remain calm,
08:42the question lingers heavily between them. When they are alone together, she quietly asks him,
08:48is there anywhere you can truly be safe? As the threats intensify, Hee-Joo becomes consumed by fear
08:55for Ian's safety. Every step he takes toward the throne seems to place him in greater danger,
09:01and she can no longer hide her growing anxiety. In the next episode, Hee-Joo's suspicions toward
09:07Zhang-Wu continue to grow, while Ian, now awake, begins fighting back against those who have been
09:13targeting them from the shadows.
