00:00Every day, millions of plastic bottles are used and thrown away.
00:04Many can be recycled, but too many still fail to return to the system.
00:09Today, the world is facing the environmental crisis and also economic uncertainty.
00:14Rising energy costs, supply chain disruption, and higher price for raw material,
00:19especially plastic raisins, have made traditional waste management system insufficient.
00:25Thailand's plastic waste problem is not only about volume,
00:28it is about how we turn waste into value.
00:31That challenge has led to a new collaboration between CP Astra Public Company Ltd
00:37and the Pollution Control Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
00:42Together, they are launching Extra Circular Impacts,
00:46a project designed to collect and recycle plastic bottles from the retail sector in a more systematic way.
00:52The project brings together 22 partners from the government agencies,
00:56private companies, and educational institutions from schools to universities.
01:02Each partner plays a role across the value chain, building awareness,
01:06encouraging waste separation, collecting bottles using technology to recycle them,
01:11and turning them into new products with added value.
01:14The goal is to bring more than 10 million used plastic bottles back into the recycling process,
01:20while also studying how reduced landfill waste can help cut greenhouse gas emissions.
01:25Well, this isn't just a recycling campaign.
01:28It is a new model for Thailand on how to turn an environmental challenge
01:33into a new opportunity for communities, society, and Thailand.
