00:00Saudi Arabia's Ras al-Khair plant is one of the largest desalination facilities on Earth.
00:04It transforms more than 1 billion liters of seawater into drinking water every single day.
00:10Located along the Arabian Gulf, the mega plant uses advanced technologies including reverse
00:16osmosis and multi-stage flash distillation. These systems remove salt and impurities from
00:21seawater at industrial scale. Massive intake pumps, high-pressure membrane systems,
00:27steam chambers, and turbines operate 24 hours a day. The facility also generates around 2,650
00:34megawatts of electricity. The purified water then travels hundreds of kilometers through
00:39giant pipelines to supply cities and industries across Saudi Arabia. As water scarcity grows
00:45globally, projects like Ras al-Khair are becoming critical for the future of energy,
00:50infrastructure, and water security in the Middle East.
