00:00A chart-topping artist at home and a polished presence on the international scene,
00:05Emin is a singer who's shared stages with global stars
00:08and built a following in his home country, Azerbaijan, and further afield.
00:12But his world stretches beyond music into business influence and high-profile circles,
00:17making their figure as complex as he is visible.
00:20I think it's important to cover songs that are timeless,
00:23and they are timeless because there's some DNA and substance in those songs
00:28that it doesn't matter who sings those songs.
00:30You hear the melody, you want to hear it, you want to hear more of it.
00:34Obviously, Something Stupid is a huge song, Frank and Nancy Sinatra,
00:39but of course I remember the Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman, and it was a huge hit.
00:44But you have just done with Amanda Holden, who is not a big name musically.
00:51That was David's idea, and he said that he's friends with Amanda for a while now,
00:56and she's great, and you're going to love her.
00:58But I said, David, it's a no-brainer for me, let's do it.
01:02And then he introduced me to Amanda, we both recorded our vocals separately,
01:05then we met in London and had dinner and hung out, and she's great, she's so much fun.
01:10Well, you both sound really beautiful, it's a lovely version of the song.
01:13Well, she's a super pro, and it's not about how big the names are,
01:17it's how good the performer is always, I think.
01:26And I do think that your voice, for me, sounded particularly good on You Are So Beautiful.
01:32It's a very emotive song anyway.
01:35That's David's favourite vocal of mine, but for some reason David thinks it's probably
01:38the best vocal on the album of all the songs, which I disagree with.
01:42No, I think I agree.
01:44I think he likes the intimacy of the song.
01:45Well, it suits your voice.
01:47Actually, the song suits your voice so much, and the emotion in it.
01:51And it's a beautiful song.
02:07If we look at the album overall, I feel that it's a very emotive album.
02:12Why did you want to do that?
02:14Was there something personal?
02:15Is it a time in your life?
02:17You know, I think all of this music comes from my youth and childhood,
02:22when I was, you know, 12, 13, 15, 17, when people were listening to Tupac
02:28and, you know, all the current, you know, super cool guys.
02:31I was listening to Elvis and Tom Jones and Sinatra,
02:34and it was when they had, you know, superheroes on the wall,
02:38I had Elvis Presley on the wall as a poster.
02:41And this music really does mean a lot to me because I think I was inspired to start a musical
02:46career
02:46and be involved in anything musical because of these great names.
02:50I did probably have a similar childhood in that way.
02:53I grew up with the songs.
02:54And as a kid, you think, oh, this guy is cool.
02:58He was so cool.
02:59He was so cool.
03:00He could do the crappiest song and make it sound amazing.
03:04He could.
03:05He could look amazing.
03:06And I can see the passion when you're talking about Elvis.
03:09I can imagine you as a child.
03:12Would you say that your passion has grown more?
03:15Because, you know, when we're kids, we become obsessed.
03:18How would you compare it?
03:20I'd compare it.
03:20It was the love from the first sound.
03:23When you fall in love with Elvis, you can never let go.
03:26Future.
03:27Who are your dream collabs that you haven't done so far?
03:31And what does the future hold for Emin, the musician?
03:34One of my favorite artists is Sade.
03:37And I love Sade so much.
03:39And this is probably a dream collab that is never going to happen
03:43because she never duets with anybody.
03:45But if you were to ask me, she would be the first choice.
03:48That's the best choice.
03:51Sade.
03:51You may be the only love I had ever known
03:58And it's got to last forever
04:04Things are wrong and now it's over
04:10Your love is gone, though mine is still
04:14All around
04:18You may be the only love I had ever known
04:19You may be the only love I had ever known
04:19You may be the only love I had ever known
04:21You may be the only love I had ever known
04:21You may be the only love I had ever known
04:21You may be the only love I had ever known
04:22You may be the only love I had ever known
